Tysons Corner Communications Tower

Tysons, also known as Tysons Corner, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, developed from the corner of Chain Bridge Road (SR 123) and the Leesburg Pike (SR 7). Located in Northern Virginia between the community of McLean and the town of Vienna along the Capital Beltway (I-495), it is in the Washington metropolitan area. Tysons is home to two super-regional shopping malls—Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria—and the corporate and administrative headquarters of numerous companies, such as Intelsat, Alarm.com, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capital One, DXC Technology, Freddie Mac, Gannett, Hilton Worldwide, ID.me and Tegna. As an unincorporated community, Tysons is Fairfax County's central business district and a regional commercial center. It has been called a quintessential example of an edge city. The population was 26,374 as of the 2020 census.

Tysons Galleria is a three-level super-regional mall owned by Brookfield Properties located at 2001 International Drive in Tysons, Virginia. It is the second-largest mall in Tysons, and one of the largest in the Washington metropolitan area.

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is an American trade organization representing nearly 16,500 franchised new car and truck dealerships, both domestic and foreign. Established in 1917, the organization is based in Tysons Corner, Virginia. As the automotive retail industry's primary trade association, NADA monitors federal legislation and regulation affecting dealerships and publishes forecasts and reports about industry trends. American Truck Dealers, established in 1970, is a division of NADA representing nearly 1,800 heavy- and medium-duty truck dealerships throughout the United States.

Tysons Corner Center is a shopping mall in the unincorporated area of Tysons in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States (between McLean and Vienna, Virginia). It opened to the public in 1968, becoming one of the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled shopping malls in the Washington metropolitan area. The mall's three department store anchors are Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Nordstrom. Tysons Corner Center is the largest mall in the Baltimore-Washington area, and the 22nd largest in the United States. The mall is located 12.5 miles (20.1 km) from the central business district of Washington D.C., and neighbors a second mall, Tysons Galleria, across Chain Bridge Road. To distinguish the two, some people refer to Tysons Corner Center as "Tysons I," and Tysons Galleria as "Tysons II."

Fairfax Square is an upscale mixed-use development located directly south of Tysons Corner Center across Leesburg Pike in Tysons Corner, Virginia. It includes 400,000 sq ft (37,160 m2) of Class A office space, primarily occupied by financial tenants such as American Express, Merrill Lynch, and New York Life, and high-end ground-floor retail among its three identical high-rises. Fairfax Square was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Its buildings are clad in Brazilian granite, and its lobbies are finished with Italian marble and wood paneling. Ground was broken for the development in 1988. The complex replaced a KMart store and its parking lot. When it opened in 1990, the Tiffany & Co. store at Fairfax Square was the largest outside of New York with 14,500 sq ft (1,350 m2) of retail space. Hermès has its only Washington metropolitan area store in Fairfax Square and doubled its retail space after a reopening in 2006 due to store consistently outperforming the rest of the U.S. market. The Tiffany store in this location is twice as large as its newer counterpart on Wisconsin Avenue. Fendi opened its fourth store in the nation at Fairfax Square, but it has closed; Fendi has opened a boutique within Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Fendi does, however, have a Fendi Casa showroom nearby in Washington. The Equinox fitness facility replaced an 8-screen movie theater, which closed in 2007, shortly after a 16-screen theater opened in Tyson's Corner Center. Tycon Center is a development at 8000 Towers Crescent Drive in Vienna, VA, built and initially owned by developers James T. Lewis, Roy Mitchell and Don Moore, known as Tycon Development The complex is also known as Tycon Towers 1 and consists of a postmodern 17-story brick clad building designed by John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson.

The International Tennis Club of Washington plays real tennis on Prince's Court at the Regency Sport and Health Club in McLean, Virginia, 6 miles (10 km) from Washington, D.C. Dedicated on October 11, 1997, Prince's is the only new real tennis venue to be constructed in the United States since the Racquet Club of Chicago was built in 1923. (The Chicago court has since been renovated and renewed.) The court, named after financial supporter and club co-founder Frederick H. Prince, features an 18 foot (5.5 m) high main wall made of plate glass giving spectators an unrivalled view of play. Unusual features of the court include a large gong hung in the last gallery. The head professional at Prince's Court is Ivan Ronaldson, whose father was formerly head professional at Hampton Court Palace. The assistant professional is Phil Shannon.

Spring Hill (preliminary names Tysons West, Tysons–Spring Hill Road) is a Washington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia, on the Silver Line. Located in Tysons, it began operation on July 26, 2014. The station is located in the central median of Leesburg Pike (SR 7) just west of Spring Hill Road. There had been some controversy about whether to build the rail through Tysons below ground or on elevated tracks. The efforts to build a tunnel through all of Tysons failed, and the current design has the main platform with a height of 48 ft (15 m) at its east end and 51 ft (16 m) at its west end.The station is about 5.8 miles (9.3 km) from Wiehle–Reston East, the next station to the west, but only about 0.8 miles (1.3 km) from Greensboro directly to the southeast.

Capital One Tower is a high-rise office building in Capital One Center, a mixed-use development adjacent to the McLean station in Tysons, Virginia. Capital One Tower is the tallest occupied building in the Washington metropolitan area at 470 feet (143 m) in height and the second-tallest building in Virginia. Ground was broken on the tower in November 2014 and it was completed in 2018. It is the headquarters of Capital One. Capital One Tower is one of many skyscrapers that have been constructed for the urbanization project in Tysons, Virginia. When complete, Capital One Center will contain over 5 million square feet of development, including a 1.2 acre public skypark, performing arts center, hotel, Wegmans supermarket, restaurants, and other retail.

Odricks Corner is an unincorporated community in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Odricks Corner lies north of the Dulles Toll Road (State Route 267) at the intersection of Spring Hill and Lewinsville Roads. Odricks Corner takes its name from Alfred Odrick, a former slave and carpenter who in 1872 purchased 30 acres and built a house on the southern side of Lewinsville Road. This was later intersected by Spring Hill Road, and the resulting location came to be known as Odrick's Corner. By 1879 a one-room schoolhouse, called Odrick's School, had been erected at the corner; tradition links Alfred Odrick to its creation. The school came to be used as well as a location for community meetings, and was the first place where services for Shiloh Baptist Church were held. The original frame building, which came to be the center of a thriving African-American community, was eventually replaced with a brick structure. This was later closed, and was sold in 1953; it has since been demolished.The history of the community has been noted by a historic marker near the Spring Hill Recreation Center, erected by the Fairfax County History Commission in 2002.
