Ambler station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Ambler, Pennsylvania. It was originally built by the Reading Company as Wissahickon, until being renamed in 1869 after Mary Johnson Ambler, who helped direct the aftermath of the Great Train Wreck of 1856. The station serves the Lansdale/Doylestown Line. Its official address is at Butler Avenue and Main Street; however, the actual location is a block west on Butler Avenue and Short Race Street. The station provides connections to SEPTA Bus Routes 94 and 95. In FY 2017, Ambler station had a weekday average of 1,138 boardings and 881 alightings. The station includes a 496-space parking lot. The station was briefly featured in the 1966 Hayley Mills movie The Trouble with Angels, although subsequent station scenes were shot at the Glendale Transportation Center in California.

Gilkison's Corner was a small hamlet located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The community was in Upper Dublin Township, at the intersection of Butler Pike and Bethlehem Pike. The term is primarily archaic in usage, and the location does not appear on modern maps. Usage of the term appears to have declined towards the end of the 19th century, around the time of the establishment of the more heavily populated Borough of Ambler, whose eastern border is located along Bethlehem Pike. Located at the intersection of two heavily travelled early roads, Gilkison's Corner was the location of a Revolutionary War-era tavern. A large tannery was established just south of Gilkison's Corner in the 1850s, and Upper Dublin's post office was located in Gilkison's Corner until 1827. Bean's 1884 History of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania describes Gilkison's Corner as follows: Gilkison's Corner is situated at the intersection of the Spring House and Butler road turnpikes. It contains a store, six or seven houses and the extensive steam tannery of Alvin D. Foust, established some thirty years ago. It was at this place where Andrew Gilkison kept a tavern in the Revolution and for some years thereafter. The Upper Dublin post-office was located here before 1827, but has been removed half a mile distant ... At the present Gilkison's Corner, on the Bethlehem turnpike, Andrew Gilkison kept an inn from 1779 to 1786, and most probably later; hence the name of the place. This was on the store property now owned by David Dunnet. About a quarter of a mile above this place was a tavern formerly kept by Benjamin Daves. Paul Bower kept an inn in 1774, and Susanna Wright in 1779, which we are at present unable to locate, but very probably in this vicinity.

Lindenwold Castle, also known as the Mattison Estate, is the former personal estate in Ambler, Pennsylvania, United States of asbestos magnate Richard Van Zeelust Mattison (1851–1935) of the Keasbey and Mattison Company. It was designed by Milton Bean and built in 1890.

Wissahickon High School is the sole public high school of the Wissahickon School District, and is located in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The school is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education.In 2021, Wissahickon High School was ranked as the 12th best public high school in Pennsylvania and 384th in the nation by Niche. U.S. News and World Report 2021 ranked WHS #12 best in the state and #517 in the nation.

County Bridge No. 54 is a historic stone arch bridge located near Prospectville in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The bridge was built in 1841 and rebuilt in 1916. It has three 28-foot-long (8.5 m) spans with an overall length of 125-foot (38 m). The bridge crosses a branch of Wissahickon Creek.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Germantown Academy, informally known as GA and originally known as the Union School, is the oldest nonsectarian day school in the United States. The school was founded on December 6, 1759, by a group of prominent Germantown citizens in the Green Tree Tavern on the Germantown Road. Germantown Academy enrolls students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade and is located in the Philadelphia suburb of Fort Washington, having moved from its original Germantown campus in 1965. The original campus (see Old Germantown Academy and Headmasters' Houses) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The school shares the oldest continuous high school football rivalry with the William Penn Charter School.

Dawesfield, also known as Camp Morris, is an historic country house estate located in Ambler in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The property has eleven contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing structure. They include the two-and-one-half-story, stone main dwelling (c. 1736–1870), stone barn (1795, 1937), stone tenant house (1845), frame farm manager's house (1884), and eight stone-and-frame outbuildings (1736-1952). The property features landscaped grounds, a stone wall, and terraced lawns. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Highlands is a historic building and property located near Fort Washington, Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The Highlands was built in 1794-1796 by Philadelphia merchant and politician Anthony Morris (1766-1860), and was designed by Philadelphia politician Timothy Matlack (1730-1829). It is a large 2+1⁄2-story, dressed fieldstone structure in the late Georgian style. The front facade features two, two-story, Ionic order pilasters. Morris was the speaker of the Pennsylvania senate, and had signed the bill authorizing troops to suppress the Whiskey Rebellion. He was also a director of the Bank of North America (1800-1806) and a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania (1806-1817). From 1810 to 1814, he was President James Madison's unofficial envoy to Spain.Morris sold the property to Daniel Hittner (1765-1841) in 1808. In the five years that Hittner owned the estate, he accumulated 300+ additional acres. In 1813, it was sold to wine merchant George Sheaff (1779-1851). After Sheaff's death, the heirs sold off the majority of the estate, leaving a mere 59 acres (240,000 m2) remaining with Sheaff's grandson, John. In 1917, after the death of the last remaining Sheaff heir, it was sold to Miss Caroline Sinkler, and then subsequently sold to her niece Emily Sinkler Roosevelt in 1941. Roosevelt and her husband donated the property to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1957.Today, the Highlands is a 44-acre (180,000 m2) site with a late 18th-century Georgian mansion and formal gardens. It is operated as a museum and historic site by the Highlands Historical Society, a non-profit educational organization. It is available to rent for weddings and parties.The Highlands Historical Society also runs a number of social and fund-raising events throughout the year. One of these events is the annual Highlands Craft Show which began in 1982 as a means to raise funds to support the restoration of the 2-acre (8,100 m2) formal garden. The craft show has become an excellent venue where unique artisans throughout the United States can gather to display their crafts within the mansion. Some of the crafts that are offered for sale include fabric, fabric arts, pottery, hand-bags, and hand-crafted jewelry. Other popular events include a pumpkin and jack-o-lantern display which takes place around Halloween, and the Highlands Hunt Breakfast which takes place in early November. The Hunt Breakfast consists of a mock fox hunt equipped with a pack of hounds and approximately 20 local horseback riders who ride through surrounding properties, eventually returning to the mansion to rest and eat breakfast with friends and family.

Penllyn station is a station situated in the village of Penllyn, Lower Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is served by the SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown Line. The station, located at the intersection of Old Penllyn Pike and Pen-Ambler Road, includes a 55-space parking lot and also provides a connection to SEPTA Bus Route 94. Penllyn station was built in 1930 by the Reading Railroad. In the mid-1990s, the building served as the headquarters of fast-growing online music retailer CDNow. In FY 2013, the station had a weekday average of 216 boardings and 182 alightings.
