Amherst Internment Camp

Amherst station is an inter-city railway station in Amherst, Nova Scotia served by Via Rail Ocean train. The station, which opened in 1908, was staffed by Via Rail until October 2012 when the building was closed. Via Rail passenger trains continue to stop at the station, with checked baggage handled by on-train crew members. In January 2018, the Town of Amherst announced it had reached a purchase agreement with Via. It will take possession of the building and lease it to allow a local entrepreneur for use as a restaurant, with a plan for its eventual transfer to the entrepreneur through a lease-to-own agreement. As part of the agreement, Via passengers will continue to have access to a waiting area and washrooms, and Via will continue to maintain equipment within the building. The Town has also designated it a Municipal Heritage building.

The Amherst Stadium is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is home to the Amherst Ramblers Ice hockey team of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The arena hosted the 1993 Centennial Cup. It also hosts various minor hockey contests and trade shows every year. The facility's nickname is "The Jungle", and is known to many as one of the toughest buildings to win at when the Ramblers are playing. This rink is also known to have some of the most crazy fans because during the Ramblers games a few riots have ensued after or during the games usually ending in suspensions for the coaches and players and the fans getting kicked out of the arena for the rest of the game. The rink also holds host to the CCMHA minor hockey teams. The rink in the arena measures 182 feet by 85 feet with the nets 11 feet from the end boards. The arena also includes a heated room above ice surface that is accessible for wheel chairs and senior citizens to view of the hockey game.

Amherst ( AM-urst) is a town in northwestern Nova Scotia, Canada, located at the northeast end of the Cumberland Basin, an arm of the Bay of Fundy, and 22 km (14 mi) south of the Northumberland Strait. The town sits on a height of land at the eastern boundary of the Isthmus of Chignecto and Tantramar Marshes, 3 km (1.9 mi) east of the interprovincial border with New Brunswick and 65 km (40 mi) southeast of the city of Moncton. It is 60 km (37 mi) southwest of the New Brunswick abutment of the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island at Cape Jourimain.

Trinity-St. Stephen's United Church is the largest United Church in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and is located at 1 Ratchford Street. The church was formed by the union of Trinity Methodist Church and St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church. The first joined service of the two churches, held in today's church building, was on July 6, 1936. The Fort Lawrence congregation joined with Trinity-St. Stephen's in 1957. There are currently 400 members of the church. The current minister of the church is Rev. Nigel Weaver. Jeff Joudrey is the current Organist and Music/Choir director.

Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is a hospital near Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. Located next to Highway 104 in the rural community of Upper Nappan, Cumberland Regional serves residents of Cumberland County.

CKDH-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 101.7 FM in Amherst, Nova Scotia, owned by the Maritime Broadcasting System, and currently offers a country format. Prior to August 2011, the station was broadcast at 900 AM before moving to 101.7 FM.

Amherst Regional High School (ARHS) is located in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. The school delivers classes from grade 9 to 12 as well as the Career Exploration Program (CEP) an hosts the largest allocation of NSISP (Nova Scotia International Student Program) students in Nova Scotia. The first ARHS location opened in 1893 on Spring Street. It closed in 2000 when the "new" Amherst Regional High School opened on Willow Street. The new ARHS was the last of the "Private Partner" schools in Nova Scotia. The new location includes a regulation high school gymnasium and a 493-seat auditorium.

Amherst Airport (TC LID: CCQ4) is an abandoned airport that was located 1 NM (1.9 km; 1.2 mi) west of Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was a small turf airstrip, located perpendicular to Highway 104 opposite the Amherst Industrial Park.

East Amherst is a Canadian rural community located in northwestern Cumberland County, Nova Scotia near the border with New Brunswick, located on Trunk 6, immediately east of the Town of Amherst's municipal boundary. The community is mostly small mixed-use farms, although an increasing number of homes are being constructed as Amherst experiences a small case of suburban sprawl.

Nappan is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Cumberland County. It is home to Chignecto National Wildlife Area.
