Douglas East is a House of Keys constituency in Douglas, Isle of Man. It elects 2 MHKs. Since the 2021 local elections the constituency's area has been adopted for Douglas East (ward) which replaced most of Victoria and Derby wards. The ward elects 3 councilors to Douglas Borough Council.

The Upper Douglas Cable Tramway (Manx: Raad Yiarn Caabyl Ghoolish Heose) was a tram line serving all points between the southern end of the promenade and the upper part of the town of Douglas in the Isle of Man. It opened on 15 August 1896 and closed on 19 August 1929.

The war memorial in Douglas, Isle of Man is dedicated to those who died during World War I and World War II. The rolls of names are segregated by service and year of death. The inscriptions on the memorial read: Douglas commemorates the loyalty, courage, and self sacrifice of those who fell in the Great Wars 1914 - 1918, 1939 - 1945 These are they who for their country & freedoms / sake loved not their lives unto the death / therefore they shall be as the stones of a crown / lifted up as an ensign upon this land (over four sides of the memorial separated by /)

St Ninian's Church is an Anglican church in the Parkfield area of Douglas, Isle of Man, and falls within the Diocese of Sodor and Man.

The Villa Marina is an entertainment venue in Douglas, Isle of Man, which forms part of the wider Villa-Gaiety complex. It is located on Harris Promenade, looking out onto Douglas Bay, and comprises the Royal Hall, Broadway Cinema, Promenade Suite, Colonnade Suite, Dragon's Castle and the Villa Marina Gardens. The architect was Alban Jones, whose design was chosen in an open competition judged by Professor Adshead of Liverpool University.

The Gaiety Theatre and Opera House is a theatre in Douglas, Isle of Man which together with the Villa Marina forms the VillaGaiety complex. The Gaiety is situated on Douglas promenade, overlooking the sea and adjacent to the Villa Gardens, Arcade and Butts. Built in 1899 to the designs of architect Frank Matcham as an opera house and theatre, the Gaiety, along with the nearby Villa Marina, stands on the site of a lodge occupied in the early 19th century by Castle Mona architect and Atholl family retainer George Steuart, and then later bought by benefactor Henry Bloom Noble and donated for recreational use.

St Ninian's Crossroads (Manx: Ballaquayle, Quayle, or MacFayle's farm - the quarterland of Ballaquayle) is situated between the TT Grandstand and the 1st Milestone road-side marker on the Snaefell Mountain Course on the primary A2 Douglas to Ramsey road in the town of Douglas in the Isle of Man.The St. Ninian's Crossroads is a major road junction of the A2 Glencrutchery Road with the A2 Bray Hill, the A22 Ballanard Road and Ballaquayle Road in Douglas. The area is dominated by St. Ninian's Church (dedicated to Ninian of Whithorn) designed by W.D.Caroe and is a major landmark on the skyline of the town of Douglas. The land to build the church in 1913 was bequeathed by Henry Bloom Noble through trustees of his estate. In 1924, the Douglas High School for Boys was constructed on a nearby site by the Isle of Man Education Board and is now the coeducational St Ninian's High School (Schoill Ard Noo Ninian). The crossroads at St. Ninian's was part of the Highland Course and Four Inch Course used for the Gordon Bennett Trial and Tourist Trophy car races held between 1904 and 1922. The St. Ninian's Crossroads road is part of the Snaefell Mountain Course used since 1911 for the Isle of Man TT races and the Manx Grand Prix since 1923. During the 1914 Junior TT race, Frank Walker's view of the A23 Ballanard Road was obscured by spectators who had encroached onto the road to watch the competitors. Passing the Judges-Box at the finish-line, Walker continued at full racing speed through St. Ninians Crossroads, collided with a wooden barrier in Ballaquayle Road, was thrown from his motorcycle and later died of his injuries at nearby Nobles Hospital. The St Ninian's Crossroads as Parkfield Corner was part of the Clypse Course used between 1954 and 1959 for the Isle of Man TT and for the Manx Classic Races as part of the Willaston Circuit between 1988 and 2000. In 1971 the first permanent site of traffic light signals in the Isle of Man were installed at St.Ninian's crossroads. Part of the road junction with Ballaquayle Road and St Ninian's church was widened and re-profiled in 2007 by the Isle of Man Department of Transport.

St Ninian's High School (Manx: Schoill Ard Noo Ninian) is a secondary school located in Douglas and Onchan, on the Isle of Man. The School is set over two different sites, catering for different year groups.

The Manx Museum (Thie Tashtee Vannin) in Douglas, Isle of Man is the national museum of the Isle of Man. It is run by Manx National Heritage. In general, the museum covers 10,000 years the history of the Isle of Man from the Stone Age to the modern era.The museum serves as headquarters of Manx National Heritage. The museum bears no relation to the institution with the same name founded by Trevor Ashe in 1825.

The Douglas Circuit was a motor racing street circuit in Douglas, the capital and largest town of the Isle of Man and was re-configured each year until 1937. The first Grand Prix, titled "Mannin Beg & Mannin Moar" (English: Small Man & Big Man) was held in 1933 on a 4.60 mi (7.40 km) street circuit which repeated as II and III Mannin Moar on different circuit layouts until 1935. In 1936 the circuit changed again for the IV RAC International Light Car Race and a last time for the (1937) V RAC International Light Car Race. Racing at Douglas resumed in post-war 1947 on the 1936 3.87 mi (6.23 km) circuit configuration with the first Manx Cup and the 9th British Empire Trophy. This circuit variant remained largely unchanged until 1953, the 15th British Empire Trophy and last event held on the Douglas street circuit.

The Mannin Moar was a non-championship Grand Prix held in Douglas, Isle of Man, Great Britain in 1933, 1934 and 1935. The most successful driver was Brian Lewis, having won all three races.

The Douglas Breakwater Crane Railway was a massive self-propelled steam block-setting crane, with a capacity of 15 tons, built by Stothert & Pitt of Bath that ran the length of the original breakwater at Douglas, also used for the loading and unloading of vessels. A later crane was built by Cowans, Sheldon of Carlisle (capacity 25 tons; carried on two four-wheel bogies; Works number 9057 of 1948 to Drawing 18087). The crane was owned by the Isle of Man Harbour Board and ran on 10 ft (3,048 mm) gauge.
