Oława

Niwnik [ˈnivnik] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Oława, within Oława County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.It lies approximately 1 kilometre (1 mi) south-west of Oława, and 29 kilometres (18 mi) south-east of the regional capital Wrocław.

Gmina Oława is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Oława County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Its seat is the town of Oława, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina. The gmina covers an area of 233.98 square kilometres (90.3 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 15,209.

Oława County (Polish: powiat oławski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland. It was created on January 1, 1999 as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county covers an area of 523.7 square kilometres (202.2 sq mi). Its administrative seat is the town of Oława, and its only other town is Jelcz-Laskowice. As of 2019 the total population of the county is 76,723, out of which the population of Oława is 33,029, that of Jelcz-Laskowice is 15,803, and the rural population is 27,891.

Sobieski's Castle in Oława is a Renaissance-Baroque style castle located in the site of a former Gothic castle. The original castle had been built by Duke Ludwik I built in the second half of the fourteenth century. It was the third castle structure in Oława, the first being the seat of the castellans, located in the south-east of the town. It remained an integral part of the town's defenses until the wars with the Hussites.
