The Tyler School of Art and Architecture is based at Temple University, a large, urban, public research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tyler currently enrolls about 1,350 undergraduate students and about 200 graduate students in a wide variety of academic degree programs, including architecture, art education, art history, art therapy, ceramics, city and regional planning, community arts practices, community development, facilities management, fibers and material studies, glass, graphic and interactive design, historic preservation, horticulture, landscape architecture, metals/jewelry/CAD-CAM, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and visual studies.Founded in 1935 by Stella Elkins Tyler and sculptor Boris Blai in nearby Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, Tyler moved to a new, 255,000-square-foot facility at Temple's Main Campus in 2009 with the cornerstone financial support of an allocation of $61.5 million from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 2012, Tyler's Architecture programs moved into a new facility connected to the main Tyler building. Temple's programs in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture (based primarily at Temple's suburban Ambler Campus) and its programs in Main Campus-based City & Regional Planning and Community Development programs joined Tyler in 2016, unifying all of the university's architecture and environmental design disciplines in one school for the first time.In 2017, arts administrator, art historian and curator Susan E. Cahan, formerly associate dean and dean for the arts at Yale College at Yale University, was appointed dean of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture by Temple President Richard M. Englert.In 2018, Temple University's board of trustees approved changes to Tyler's structure and identity in order to unify the school, integrate disciplines in architecture and environmental design, support cross-disciplinary studies and reflect current understanding of creative practice and research. On July 1, 2019, the school's name officially expanded from the Tyler School of Art to the Tyler School of Art and Architecture.

Temple University (Temple or TU) is a public state-related research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1884 by the Baptist minister Russell Conwell and his congregation Grace Baptist Church of Philadelphia then called Baptist Temple. On May 12, 1888, it was renamed the Temple College of Philadelphia. By 1907, the institution revised its institutional status and was incorporated as a research university. As of 2020, about 37,289 undergraduate, graduate and professional students were enrolled at the university. Temple is among the world's largest providers of professional education (law, medicine, podiatry, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering and architecture), preparing the largest body of professional practitioners in Pennsylvania.

Monument Cemetery was a rural cemetery located at the current day intersection of Broad and Berks Street in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1837 to 1956. It was the second rural cemetery in Philadelphia after Laurel Hill Cemetery. It was approximately 20 acres in size and contained 28,000 burials. It had a grand gothic gatehouse and a 67-foot high obelisk monument to George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette designed by John Sartain at the center of the cemetery. By the 1950s, the cemetery had fallen into disrepair and was sold to Temple University and the Philadelphia Board of Education. Approximately 28,000 bodies were reinterred to Lawnview Memorial Park and only 300 with their original tombstones. Many of the remaining headstones, and the monument, were used as riprap during the construction of the Betsy Ross Bridge and can be seen on the shores of the Delaware River at low tide. The land is now part of the campus of Temple University and Carver High School.

Philadelphia Military Academy (PMA) is a military school in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The school opened for the 2004–2005 school year as the Philadelphia Military Academy at Leeds in the Cedarbrook neighborhood of Philadelphia. The school opened with an enrollment of 157 ninth grade cadets. The academy was housed at the Leeds middle school. A second edition of the program was housed at Elverson High School in the 2005–2006 school year. This site is the current location of the school after a merger in the latter years. PMA is also known for earning their HUD aka honor unit with distinction directly from the army in 2022. After completing a service learning project and was rated 98%

Mosque No. 12, also known as Masjid Makkah, is a mosque in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It came to prominence in the early 1960s when a building was leased by the Nation of Islam, converted for use as a mosque, and placed under the direction of Malcolm X, who was a minister there and at Mosque No. 7 until he left the organization for Sunni Islam in 1964.

The Richard J. Fox School of Business and Management is the business school of Temple University. Located in Philadelphia, the Fox School offers several Master of Business Administration programs (full-time MBA, part-time MBA, international MBA, executive MBA and online MBA); several other master's degree programs; and several Ph.D. programs, including in accountancy, finance, marketing, international business, entrepreneurship, management of information systems, risk management and insurance, strategic management, and sports. The school has some 6,500 students, 155 full-time faculty, and over 42,000 graduates, of which about two-thirds live and work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. It is the largest business school in the Philadelphia region and one of the largest in the world. Established in 1918, it was named in honor of Richard J. Fox in 1999. The MBA program began in 1942. The school has been accredited by the International Association for Management Education (now the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)) since 1973. The PhD in Economics program was established in 1976.

Susquehanna–Dauphin is a subway station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station is located at the 2200 block of North Broad Street in North Philadelphia, between Susquehanna Avenue at the south end and Dauphin Street at the north end. Four tracks travel through the station, however the station is only served by local trains, which travel on the outer two tracks. Along with Cecil B. Moore station, this stop provides access to Temple University, which is located one block south of Susquehanna Avenue. Service began at the station, formerly known as Dauphin–Susquehanna, on September 1, 1928, as part of the original segment of the Broad Street Line, which ran from City Hall station to Olney station.Until February 25, 1956, Trolley Routes 8 and 39 (now a bus line) service as the stations connections which travels westbound on Susquehanna Avenue to the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, and eastbound on Dauphin Street to the Kensington neighborhood.

Cecil B. Moore, also known as Cecil B. Moore/Temple University, formerly Columbia, is a subway stop on the SEPTA Broad Street Line in the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a local station that has four tracks, with only the outer two being served. There are separate fare control areas for northbound and southbound trains, with no crossover, and a large pavilion entrance with an escalator on the northbound side. This is the main station serving Temple University, and therefore is one of the busiest stops on the line. Susquehanna–Dauphin station, six blocks north, also serves Temple University, although it is further from many of the main locations on campus. Surface Transit Connections: Until February 4, 1956 - Trolley SEPTA Route 3 (now a bus line) serve as the connection. As of June 2007, Cecil B. Moore had an average of 5,644 daily boardings.

McGonigle Hall is an athletic facility on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Temple women's basketball splits games between McGonigle Hall and the Liacouras Center and the gym is home to Temple women's fencing, women's gymnastics, and volleyball.McGonigle Hall was constructed from 1967 to 1969 as part of a 250,000 square foot building for Temple's intercollegiate athletics. The entire facility was built at a cost of $8 million and included teaching, research, and training facilities. The basketball arena originally sat 4,500 and was also home to the school's wrestling and gymnastics program. The building was named for Arthur T. McGonigle, a Temple University trustee and pretzel magnate from Reading, Pennsylvania who donated the new facility's furniture and equipment.McGonigle Hall opened on December 2, 1969, with a Temple University men's basketball win over St. John's. The venue served as the home of men's basketball until it was replaced in 1997 by the Liacouras Center. In 2012, the University completed a $48 million renovation and expansion of Pearson and McGonigle Halls, providing additional classrooms, faculty and coaching staff offices as well as state-of-the-art men's and women's basketball practice facilities.

Paul Laurence Dunbar School is a historic school building located in the Templetown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1931–1932. It is a four-story, 14 bay, orange brick building on a raised basement in the Moderne-style. It features ribbon bands of windows, brick pilasters with compound capitals, and spandrel panels. It was named for African American poet and author Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is a middle school in the School District of Philadelphia.

The Uptown Theater in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, also known as Uptown Theater and Office Building, is an Art Deco building built in 1927. It was designed by the Philadelphia-based architectural firm of Magaziner, Eberhard & Harris. The Uptown Theater is located on 2240 N. Broad Street. It became a major venue on the Chitlin' Circuit, from 1951–1978. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It briefly reopened as a church in the 1980s until water damage occurred and caused it to close in 1991. In 2001, the Uptown Entertainment and Development Corporation bought the building with plans for renovation.

The Philadelphia Doll Museum is located in Philadelphia at 2253 North Broad Street along the Avenue of the Arts. It is the only known museum in the United States that emphasizes the collection and preservation of black dolls as artifacts of history and culture.
