The Battle of Vejle was a battle of the Second Schleswig War that occurred on March 8, 1864, between the Austrian Empire and Denmark on the town of Vejle. The Austrian victory at the battle opened the way for the Evacuation of Fredericia and the Battle of Jasmund as well as solidifying Ludwig von Gablenz's military career.

Vejle (Danish pronunciation: [ˈvɑjlə]) is a city in Denmark, in the southeast of the Jutland Peninsula at the head of Vejle Fjord, where the Vejle River and Grejs River and their valleys converge. It is the site of the councils of Vejle Municipality (kommune) and the Region of Southern Denmark. The city has a population of 61,310 (as of 1 January 2023) making it the ninth largest city in Denmark. Vejle Municipality has a population of 120,949 (as of 2023) making it the fifth largest municipality in Denmark. The city is part of the Triangle Region, which includes the neighbouring cities of Kolding and Fredericia and it is located 110 kilometres (68 miles) north of Germany. Vejle is most known for its forested hills, fjord, harbour, shopping, pedestrian mall, and windmill.

Vejle Sygehus railway halt is a railway halt serving the northern part of the city of Vejle in Jutland, Denmark, as well as the nearby hospital Vejle Sygehus.Vejle Sygehus railway halt is located on the Vejle–Holstebro railway line. The station opened in 1993 to serve the adjacent hospital Vejle Sygehus. The station offers direct InterCityLyn services to Copenhagen and Struer operated by the railway company DSB as well as regional train services to Vejle, Herning and Struer operated by Arriva.

The Golden Horns of Gallehus were two horns made of sheet gold, discovered in Gallehus, north of Møgeltønder in Southern Jutland, Denmark. The horns dated to the early 5th century, i.e. the beginning of the Germanic Iron Age. The horns were found in 1639 and in 1734, respectively, at locations only some 15–20 metres apart. They were composed of segments of double sheet gold. The two horns were found incomplete; the longer one found in 1639 had seven segments with ornaments, to which six plain segments and a plain rim were added, possibly by the 17th-century restorer. The shorter horn found in 1734 had six segments, a narrow one bearing a Proto-Norse Elder Futhark inscription at the rim and five ornamented with images. It is uncertain whether the horns were intended as drinking horns, or as blowing horns, although drinking horns have more pronounced history as luxury items made from precious metal. The original horns were stolen and melted down in 1802. Casts made of the horns in the late 18th century were also lost. Replicas of the horns must thus rely on 17th and 18th-century drawings exclusively and are accordingly fraught with uncertainty. Nevertheless, replicas of the original horns were produced, two of them exhibited at the National Museum of Denmark, Copenhagen, with copies at e.g. the Moesgaard Museum, near Aarhus, Denmark. These replicas also have a history of having been stolen and retrieved twice, in 1993 and in 2007. The horns are the subject of one of the best-known poems in Danish literature, "The Golden Horns" (Guldhornene), by Adam Oehlenschläger.

Vejle Amt (English Vejle County) is a former county (Danish: amt) on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in southern Denmark. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it was divided between Region Midtjylland (i.e. Region Central Jutland) and Region of Southern Denmark. Vejle became the seat of the latter region.

St. Nicolai Church (Danish: Sct. Nicolai Kirke) in Vejle, Denmark is a Lutheran church. The building is dating to the 13th century. Originally built in late Romanesque style and dedicated to the patron saint of merchants and seafarers, the church is the oldest building in the community. Renovations in the 15th century developed the church into a Gothic hall with two transepts and a tower 27.2 m (89 ft) high. On display in a glass-covered sarcophagus in the northern transept are the remains of the Haraldskær Woman, one of the best conserved of the Iron Age bog bodies. The southern transept houses the sarcophagi of Kai de la Mare and his wife. The exterior brick wall of the north transept has an interesting feature of 23 spherical indentations approximately 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter, which hold the skulls of 23 robbers who were caught and beheaded in the nearby Nørreskov forest. In front of the church stands a sculpture of the priest Anders Sørensen Vedel. The church was seriously damaged during the Thirty Years' War by the troops of Wallenstein. Since that time it has undergone several major restorations: in 1744, 1855–56, 1887–88 and 1964-66.

Vejle railway station, also known as Vejle Transit Centre (Danish: Vejle Trafikcenter), is a railway station serving the town of Vejle in East Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Fredericia-Aarhus railway line from Fredericia to Aarhus and is the southeastern terminus of the Vejle-Holstebro railway line from Vejle to Holstebro. It offers direct InterCity services to Copenhagen, Hamburg, Struer, Aarhus and Aalborg as well as regional train services to Aarhus, Fredericia, Herning, and Struer. The train services are operated by DSB and Arriva.

Grejs River (Danish: Grejs Å) is an approximately 22-kilometre-long (14 mi) river in Vejle Municipality in Denmark. Its source is Fårup Lake, south of the village of Jelling. It starts by heading east through a tunnel valley, then turns south to run through Grejs Valley (Danish: Grejsdalen), the largest gorge in Denmark, until it reaches the city of Vejle. North of Vejle, it splits into two branches, Omløbsåen ("Bypass River") and Mølleåen ("Mill River"). Omløbsåen runs west around the city centre to meet Vejle River, while Mølleåen flows through the city and empties into Vejle River just south of the city centre.

Vejle Municipality (Danish: Vejle Kommune) is a municipality (kommune) in the Region of Southern Denmark on the Jutland peninsula in southeast Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 1,058.43 km2 (408.66 sq mi) (2013), and has a population of 120,949 (1. January 2023). Its mayor is Arne Sigtenbjerggaard, a member of the liberal party Venstre. Vejle Municipality's offices are located in its largest population center, the city of Vejle. In its current configuration, Vejle Municipality was formed under the Municipal Reform of 2007 (Kommunalreformen) by merging the previously existing Vejle Municipality with the neighboring municipalities of Børkop, Egtved, Give (except for properties in two parishes Lindeballe and Ringive occupied by Billund Airport, which became part of Billund Municipality), Jelling, as well as the parish of Grejs, which formerly belonged to the municipality of Tørring-Uldum. The municipality is part of Triangle Region and of the East Jutland metropolitan area, which had a total population of 1.378 million in 2016.The central administration of the Region of Southern Denmark is in Vejle, located in the former Vejle County offices at Damhaven 12.

Vejle Library is the central library for the library system in the Billund, Esbjerg, Fredericia, Haderslev, Kolding, Middelfart, Sønderborg, Tønder, Varde, Vejen and Aabenraa municipalities of Denmark. The library is also the main library of the Vejle Municipality. Vejle libraries are organized with a main library in Vejle and central libraries in Børkop, Egtved, Give and Jelling. In addition, Vejle has one mobile library. Apart from book loans, Vejle library has a wide range of services such as video games, DVD loans or an electronic printing service, among others.

Vejle Stadium (Danish: Vejle Stadion) is a fully enclosed, modern (built in 2008) football stadium in Vejle, Denmark and is home ground of Vejle Boldklub. The stadium has two towers for business and two VIP lounges. The stadium holds 11,060 spectators and the field is equipped with sprinkler and undersoil heating systems.

Bølgen (Danish "The Wave") is a modern residential building complex by the Skyttehus bay in Vejle, Denmark. It is inspired by the Sydney Opera House by Danish architect Jørn Utzon and the hilly landscape around Vejle Fjord.The Wave in Vejle is designed by Henning Larsen Architects and contains ultimately 105 luxury apartments distributed on 14,000 square metres (150,000 sq ft).It has been named as a ground-breaking architecture piece in modern times and a significant landmark of Vejle.
