Clayton station (Delaware)

Clayton is a town in Kent and New Castle counties in the U.S. state of Delaware. Located almost entirely in Kent County, it is part of the Dover, Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,918 at the 2010 census.

Bannister Hall and Baynard House is a national historic district located near Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It includes structures dating from 1750. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The listing included two contributing buildings on 10 acres (4.0 ha).Baynard House has also been named Fox Hall.The cupola-topped Bannister Hall building "may have been the first pre-fabricated house erected in Delaware" although in appearance it is "typical of Delaware country mansions of the Victorian period."

Moore House is a historic home located at Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It built between in 1868, and is a two-story, frame dwelling with Italianate and Gothic Revival style decorative detail. It has an unusual, off-set double-pile, "house-on-house" plan. It has a cross-gable roof with a distinctive cornice and a wraparound porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Duck Creek Village, also known as Salisbury, is a national historic district located at Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It encompasses three contributing buildings that are the remnants of a mid-18th century community. They are the two-story, five-bay, brick former miller's house known as "The Lindens;" a one-story, plank house with a steep gable roof; and a former grist mill measuring 80 feet by 100 feet. In 1998 and 1999, the Duck Creek Historical Society disassembled and moved the plank house to the rear yard of the Smyrna Museum Complex. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Alfred L. Hudson House is a historic home and farm located at Kenton, Kent County, Delaware. The house dates to about 1880, and is a two-story, five-bay, center hall plan frame dwelling in a blended Queen Anne / Gothic Revival style. It has a cross gable roof and a bracketed heavy roof cornice. Also on the property are a contributing large gambrel-roofed barn, 2+1⁄2-story granary, chicken house, a milk house, machine shed and garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Thomas Davis House is a historic home located at Kenton, Kent County, Delaware. The house was built about 1790, and is a two-story, five-bay, center hall plan brick dwelling in the Federal style. It has a gable roof and the front facade features an entrance portico replaced in the early 20th century. It has a rear wing added about 1840. The wing is in the Greek Revival style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Cummins, Sr. House, Governor William Temple Mansion, Daniel Cummins' Tavern and House, "Greybox," Delaware House, Jones' Drug Store, Smyrna/Clayton Masonic Building, the Peterson Building, Tilghman Building (c. 1840), Abraham Pierce Store (c. 1810), the "Colonial Hotel," Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Citizen's Hose Company No. 1, Benjamin Benson House (1834), Asbury Methodist Church (1845, 1872), Ebenezer Cloak Mansion, and Mt. Olive Holiness Pentecostal (1876).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Mount Pleasant, also known as the Samuel Cahoon House, is a historic home located near Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It built about 1810, and consists of a two-story, five-bay, gable-roofed brick main house with an interior brick chimney stack at either gable end and a one-story, gable-roofed brick kitchen wing. It is in a late Georgian / Federal vernacular style and measures 43 feet by 25 feet. Also on the property are a contributing early 19th-century smokehouse and barn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Enoch Jones House, also known as "Boxwood," is a historic home located near Clayton, Kent County, Delaware. It dates to the mid-18th century, and consists of a two-story, three-bay, brick main house with a lower two-story frame west wing. The house is in the hall-and-parlor plan. It has a gable roof on both sections. The first documented reference to the house is a 1792 survey of Enoch Jones 717-acre estate.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
