John A. Minetto State Park

Platt Hill State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area occupying 159 acres (64 ha) in the town of Winchester, Connecticut. The state park has hiking trails, picnicking sites, and views of the surrounding area.

Stillwater Pond State Park is a public recreation area covering 226 acres (91 ha) in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The state park surrounds Stillwater Pond, a 100-acre (40 ha) impoundment on the West Branch Naugatuck River. Fishing, boating, and a paved boat ramp are offered.

Burr Pond State Park is a public recreation area covering 438 acres (177 ha) adjacent to Paugnut State Forest in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The state park surrounds Burr Pond, an 85-acre (34 ha), man-made body of water with facilities for swimming, boating, and fishing. It is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Sunnybrook State Park is a public recreation area encompassing 464 acres (188 ha) in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The state park is the southwestern terminus for the blue-blazed John Muir Trail which crosses Paugnut State Forest for two miles to the loop trail at Burr Pond State Park. Another park trail bears the name of former property owner Edwin Fadoir. In addition to hiking, the park offers picnicking, hunting, and fishing along the East Branch Naugatuck River. The park opened in 1970 and entered the state rolls in the 1971 edition of the Connecticut Register and Manual.

Paugnut State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located on four parcels in the towns of Torrington and Winchester. The forest's Arts and Crafts–style administration building was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The remains of the foundation of the condensed milk factory established by Gail Borden on Burr Pond in 1857 may also be seen. Trails crossing the forest include the John Muir Trail which connects Burr Pond State Park and Sunnybrook State Park.

The Paugnut Forest Administration Building (also known as Burr Pond Park Bungalow) is a historic building at 385 Burr Mountain Road in Burr Pond State Park, Torrington, Connecticut. Built in 1937 by a crew of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), it is one of the finest examples of Bungalow/Craftsman architecture built by the CCC in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Highland Lake is a body of water located within the boundaries of Winchester, Connecticut. It has a surface area of 445 acres (180 ha) and an average depth of 24 feet (7.3 m). The lake is long but not wide, extending approximately three miles (4.8 km) from north to south but only one-half mile (0.80 km) at its widest. It narrows at two points and therefore divides into three distinct sections, known (from north to south) as First Bay, Second Bay, and Third Bay. Highland Lake achieves its maximum depth of 63 feet (19 m) toward the center of Second Bay.The lake is popular for recreational purposes, including boating and fishing. The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection stocks the lake annually with fish, and considers it a Trophy Trout and Bass Management Lake.Highland Lake is encircled by Wakefield Boulevard, which is a little over seven miles (11 km) long, and its shores are heavily built up with residences (both seasonal and year-round) and dotted with many docks. There have been several historical instances of small rogue wakes hitting the area between first and second bay. Locals attribute that to some underground plate movements between the two areas.

Winchester is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,224 at the 2020 census. The city of Winsted is located in Winchester. The town is part of the Northwest Hills Planning Region.

The Amos Baldwin House is a historic house at 92 Goshen Street East in Norfolk, Connecticut, United States. Built about 1765, it is an important surviving example of colonial architecture in the community, and is one of its oldest buildings with a gambrel roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Warrenton Woolen Mill is a historic textile mill at 839 Main Street in Torrington, Connecticut. Founded in 1844, the mill was a major part of the local economy until its closure in 1984. Its surviving complex, dating to the early 20th century, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It has since been renovated into housing, as the Warrenton Mill Condominiums.

St. Mary Parish was a Catholic Church parish in Torrington, Connecticut, in the United States. Founded on October 26, 1919, it is one of the Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Archdiocese of Hartford. The parish church, St. Mary of Częstochowa, closed in 2017 and St. Mary parish merged with four other parishes to form St. John Paul the Great Parish.

The Migeon Avenue Historic District encompasses a group of elegant residential properties on a one-block stretch of Migeon Avenue in Torrington, Connecticut. Consisting of five properties and four contributing primary buildings, this area was home to some of Torrington's leading businessmen at the turn of the 20th century. The houses are of high architectural quality, and original landscaping was done by the Olmsted Brothers landscape design firm. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
