The Bald Eagle and Spring Creek Navigation Company was a canal company in central Pennsylvania intended to link the iron industry of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, with the Pennsylvania canal system. Opened for half its length in 1837, the remainder of the canal was not completed until 1848. Destroyed by flooding in 1865, it was not rebuilt; a paralleling railroad completed that year replaced it.

Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir is a reservoir located near the borough of Howard, Pennsylvania. The lake is formed due to the damming of Bald Eagle Creek, a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River, as well as other smaller creeks. The dam was created in 1971 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to prevent flooding and continue water quality down stream. The lake is named in honor of Foster Joseph Sayers, a World War II hero from the nearby town of Howard. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his acts of bravery at the battle near Thionville, France, in 1944. Also in 1971, the formation of Bald Eagle State Park occurred with the formation of the new lake, bringing boating, fishing and swimming to the area. Common fish species in the lake are Sunfish, Catfish, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Crappie and Tiger Muskellunge.

Hublersburg is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Walker Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located about 3 miles (5 km) northeast of the community of Mingoville, along Pennsylvania Route 64. As of the 2010 census, the population was 104 residents. The founder of Hublersburg was Jacob Hubler.

Snydertown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Walker and Marion townships in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 483.The village center lies in Walker Township in the Nittany Valley, between the communities of Hublersburg and Nittany near Pennsylvania Route 64. The CDP boundaries extend west to include a residential development on the summit and slopes of Sand Ridge. Interstate 80 in Marion Township on the northwestern side of Sand Ridge forms the northwestern boundary of the CDP, although there is no direct access at this point.

Bald Eagle State Park is a 5,900-acre (2,388 ha) Pennsylvania state park in Howard, Liberty, and Marion townships in Centre County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The park includes the Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir, formed by damming Bald Eagle Creek and other smaller streams and covering 1,730 acres (700 ha). Bald Eagle State Park is at the meeting point of two distinct geologic features. The Allegheny Plateau is to the north and the Ridge and Valley area of Pennsylvania is to the south. The park is in the Bald Eagle Valley off Pennsylvania Route 150 in Howard, between Milesburg and Lock Haven.

Mingoville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Walker Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 503 residents.Mingoville is located in eastern Centre County, west of the center of Walker Township, in the Nittany Valley between Nittany Mountain to the southeast and Sand Ridge to the northwest. It is 3 miles (5 km) southwest of the community of Hublersburg and 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Zion, along Pennsylvania Route 64. State College is 15 miles (24 km) to the southwest.

Christian Bechdel II House is a historic home located at Liberty Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1831, and is a two-story, five bay rectangular brick building measuring 42 feet 8 inches (13.00 m), across and 32 feet 6 inches (9.91 m), deep in the Georgian style architecture. The front facade features a Palladian window in the central bay of the second story. It has a medium pitch, gable roof and a center hall plan interior.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

As of the 2010 census, the population was 658.It is located along the northeastern border of Centre County, next to Lamar in Clinton County. It lies in the Nittany Valley, between the long ridge of Nittany Mountain to the southeast and lower Sand Ridge to the northwest. The center of Nittany is at the intersections of PA Routes 64 and 445. PA 64 leads northeast through Lamar 3 miles (5 km) to Interstate 80 and southwest 9 miles (14 km) to Zion, while PA 445 leads southeast across Nittany and Brush mountains 12 miles (19 km) to Millheim.
