Melson House

Atlanta is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. Atlanta is located on Delaware Route 18 near the Maryland border. The Melson House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located near Bridgeville, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built in 1885, and is a two-story, frame church building in the Gothic Revival style. It has a gable roof and corner pilasters with lancet insets. Attached to the church is a Sunday School annex.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Marshy Hope Wildlife Area is a state wildlife area located in Sussex County, Delaware, near the town of Bridgeville, Delaware, and along the Maryland and Delaware border and along the Delaware side of the Marshyhope Creek. It is made up of three land tracts totaling 1,079 acres (437 ha). It is managed by Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Eratt House is a historic home located near Bridgeville, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built about 1750, and is a two-story, three-bay, single-pile brick structure with a gable roof. The house is in the hall-and-parlor plan. The house was converted for use as a garage. It is one of only about a dozen surviving 18th-century brick houses in Sussex County.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Salisbury Embayment was an arm of the Atlantic Ocean which covered what is now Delaware, southern and eastern Maryland, the Virginia Peninsula and parts of southern New Jersey during Paleogene and Neogene times, from about 65 million to 5 million years ago. Sea level throughout most of this period stood several hundred feet higher than at present, and deposition of sediments draining off the continent possibly caused the underlying rocks to sink down, creating the embayment. The shore of the embayment lay inland at the present-day Fall Line in the region. Throughout the Paleogene and Neogene times, sediment accumulated on the floor of the Salisbury Embayment during pulses of high sea level, forming the Paleocene Aquia and Brightseat Formations, the Eocene Pamunkey Group, and the Miocene Chesapeake Group. There are no deposits from the Oligocene epoch due to a drop in sea level, however, a 2- to 3- mile diameter meteorite or asteroid is thought to have left a 50-mile diameter crater upon impact in the southern Chesapeake Bay.When sea levels fell as the Pleistocene ice ages took hold, the thousands of feet of sediment layers in the Salisbury Embayment were exposed as the Coastal Plain terrains of Delaware, Maryland and eastern Virginia.

Maston House, also known as Cannon's Savannah, is a historic home located near Seaford, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built in 1727 and enlarged in 1733. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, single pile, brick structure with a gable roof in the "Resurrection Manor" style. As such, it resembles Maryland rather than Delaware houses. It has shed-roof dormers. The interior has wide floor boards and a narrow enclosed staircase winding around the chimney. It is one of Sussex County's oldest brick structures. A small frame addition from the 1970s is attached to the northern end.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Scott's Store is a historic commercial building located near Bridgeville, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built about 1875, and is a two-story, rectangular, frame structure in a simplified Victorian Gothic style. It sits on a brick foundation, is sheathed in weatherboard, and a gable roof. The storefront has a pair of double doors and there is the large one-story, hipped porch roof extending across the face of the building. Also on the property are a contributing garage and outhouse, and a submerged round metal tank used to mix carbide gas. It is typical of the no longer numerous 19th-century country stores of southern Delaware.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
