Richland High School is a small, rural public high school located at One Academic Avenue, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In the 2016–2017, Richland High School enrollment was reported as 762 pupils in 7th through 12th grades. Richland High School is the sole high school operated by Richland School District.

In 2014, the median household income in the USA was $53,700.The Richland School District operates two schools: Richland Elementary School (Grades K–6) and Richland Senior High School (Grades 7–12). High school students may choose to attend Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center for training in the construction and mechanical trades. The Appalachia Intermediate Unit IU8 provides the district with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, background checks for employees, state mandated recognizing and reporting child abuse training, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Richland Town Center is a power center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located on U.S. Route 219 at Elton Road and Theatre Drive. The center opened in 2004 on the site of the former Richland Mall. Existing from 1974 to 1998, Richland Mall was an enclosed shopping mall whose anchor stores were Sears, Kmart, and Penn Traffic; Sears later became Hills and then Ames, while Penn Traffic later became Hess's and then The Bon-Ton. Richland Mall was shuttered in 1998 after losing business to The Johnstown Galleria which opened in 1992. Richland Mall was then torn down and redeveloped as a strip mall, which features Walmart, TJ Maxx/HomeGoods, Best Buy, and Ulta as its anchor stores.

Windber Historic District is a national historic district located at Paint Borough, Scalp Level, and Windber in Cambria County and Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 944 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. It encompasses an area first developed by the Berwind-White Coal Company in 1897, and developed and between 1897 and 1930. It includes the central business district of Windber and surrounding residential areas, consisting largely of workers' housing. Notable buildings include the Berwind-White Headquarters Building (1903), Eureka Department Store (1899), Windber Trust Company (1910), Windber Electric Building (1925), Clement Building (1902), Windber Hotel (1902), former train station (1916), Arcadia Theater (1919), Clubhouse (1899), David Shaffer House (now Windber Museum, 1886), and Windber Hospital (c. 1905).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Windber Area High School is a public High School on the Somerset-Cambria County Border, serving students from the Somerset County borough of Windber and Paint Borough in Cambria County. WAHS's feeder school, Windber Area Middle School is connected directly to the high school.
