Kennett Square Historic District

Kennett Square is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World because mushroom farming in the region produces over 500 million pounds of mushrooms a year, totaling half of the United States mushroom crop. To celebrate this heritage, Kennett Square has an annual Mushroom Festival, where the town shuts down to have a parade, tour mushroom farms, and buy and sell food and other goods. It is also home to the corporate headquarters of Genesis HealthCare which administers elderly care facilities. Located in the Delaware Valley, Kennett Square is considered a suburb of both Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware. The local high school is Kennett High School. The last official US census, which occurred in 2020, recorded a population of 5,936 in Kennett Square.

Talula's Table is a small gourmet market and restaurant in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. During the day, Talula's Table is a gourmet coffee shop and market. At night, Talulas's Table turns into a restaurant containing only two tables. It is known as the hardest reservation to get in the US. With only two tables: one that seats from 8 to 12 people and a "nook table" that seats from 4 to 8 people, reservations are taken every day for one year from that date.Saveur magazine named Talula's number 52 on their 2010 Top 100 Restaurants listing.

St. Patrick Church is a Catholic church located at 212 Meredith Street in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Named in honor of Saint Patrick, it is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It was founded December 1869.

The Bayard Taylor Memorial Library is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and is part of the Chester County Library System. The library was dedicated on Sept. 24, 1896, named in honor of Bayard Taylor, and opened to the public on Sept. 28 with a few periodicals and empty shelves.

Church of the Advent is an Episcopal church in Kennett Square in Chester County, in the US state of Pennsylvania. It received a charter for formation from the state on May 1, 1882.Church of the Advant began as a small church, compared to other congregations at the time. For the preceding dozen years its members had been meeting in various places in Kennett Square, including the Unicorn Tavern that stood on the northwest corner of State and Union Streets. The tavern, renowned in Bayard Taylor's The Story of Kennett Square, stood here for many years but burned down not long after Advent was founded. Meetings of Episcopalians also took place in the old Town Hall located on the south side of State Street, between Union and Broad.

Kennett High School is the only public high school in the Kennett Consolidated School District and is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, United States. The school averages around 1300 students and 100 faculty members. The Kennett Consolidated School District Office is located next to the high school.

Cedarcroft, also known as Bayard Taylor House, is a historic house on Gatehouse Drive in Chester County, Pennsylvania near Kennett Square. It was built in 1859 for writer Bayard Taylor (1825–1878), and is a good local example of Italianate architecture. It remained Taylor's home until 1874, and is where he wrote some of his well-known works. It has been a private residence for most of its existence, spending a few years in the early 20th century as a private boys' school. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 for its association with Taylor.

Joseph Gregg House is a historic home located in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The original section was built about 1737. Additions were made about 1820, about 1860, and in 1986. The original section is a 2+1⁄2-story, three bay, brick Colonial farmhouse with a gable roof. It is a rectangular structure measuring 20 feet by 30 feet and sits on a stone foundation. The 1820/1860 addition is constructed of rubble fieldstone.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Willowdale is an unincorporated community that is located in East Marlborough Township, in southern Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States.It was named after a grove of Willow trees that grew in the general area when the community was originally settled. Several businesses, shopping centers and residential developments in the general area of the crossroads have since been named after Willowdale.

Chandler Mill Bridge, also known as Chester County Bridge No. 236, is a historic steel bridge located in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It spans the West Branch of Red Clay Creek. It is a single span, 47-foot-long (14 m), built up steel plate girder bridge. The bridge was constructed in 1910, and features stone abutments and wingwalls.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.The bridge has been closed since May 6, 2011, due to its deteriorating condition.

East Marlborough Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,026 at the 2010 census. East Marlborough and West Marlborough townships were carved out of the larger Marlborough Township in 1729. The township is home to many Penn Oak trees, trees that were in existence when William Penn explored the area. The well-known Longwood Gardens is located in East Marlborough Township.

A four-year, high school located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Unionville High School enrolls approximately 1,300 students. Accredited by the Middle Atlantic States Association of Secondary Schools, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Unionville High School has received state recognition for excellence and high achievement in the preparation of students for higher education. Each year, more than 95% of the Unionville High School graduating class takes the SAT examinations. Over 95% of all graduating seniors pursue some form of higher education; 89% go to 4-year colleges, while 7% go to 2-year colleges.
