Shackle Island, Tennessee

Beech High School is one of two public high schools in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The school is located in the Shackle Island community on Long Hollow Pike, near the intersection of Shackle Island Road, Long Hollow Pike, and New Hope Road, just to the north of the Hendersonville city limits, and is part of the Sumner County Schools district. The current school officially opened on August 27, 1980, under the direction of Mr. Merroll N. Hyde. In 1986, the first female principal in Sumner County, Mary Clouse, became the principal. Frank Cardwell served as principal from 1999 until 2014, and was succeeded by Kenneth Powell.The school's mascot is the Buccaneer, which is frequently shortened to "Buc." The school colors are officially white and orange; however, Navy blue is also popular.A significant change occurred in the 2005–2006 school year when T.W. Hunter Middle School's new campus was completed. Beech relocated many of its ninth grade classes to the old T.W. Hunter building, now the high school's annex.Beech softball holds four state titles, and the football team was the 2009 and 2012 Class 5A State Champion.

Hendersonville Presbyterian Church (originally Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church) is a church located in Hendersonville, Sumner County, Tennessee. The congregation was organized in 1798 by Thomas Craighead, and the first Synod of Cumberland Presbyterian Church was constituted on October 5, 1813. The Gothic Revival stone structure was erected in 1828. The adjoining cemetery contains the bodies of pioneer surveyor William Montgomery and Revolutionary War veteran John McMurtry. The building still stands and is in use today.

Merrol Hyde Magnet School (MHMS) is a K–12 school in Hendersonville, Tennessee adhering to the Paideia philosophy and administered by the Sumner County Board of Education. It is the only magnet school in Sumner County. The school's motto is "Mandatus ad virtutem," or "Committed to excellence." Merrol Hyde is ranked first in Tennessee and seventh in the nation by USNews.

Indian Lake Village is an upscale retail, office, and residential development located in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The 256-acre (104 ha) development was developed by Halo Properties, and the first phase opened in 2008. Indian Lake Village includes the Streets of Indian Lake, a 500,000 square feet (46,000 m2) square foot outdoor shopping center developed by Continental Real Estate Cos.

WRTN-LD, virtual channel 6 (UHF digital channel 26), is a low-power television station that serves Nashville, Tennessee and is based in Lebanon and licensed to Alexandria. The station is owned by Richard and Lisa Goetz.

Hendersonville Memory Gardens is a cemetery located at 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville, Tennessee, United States, a few miles northeast of Nashville. Formerly known as Woodlawn Memorial Park East, it is the burial site of Johnny Cash as well as several members of the Carter Family of musicians, and numerous other stars from the world of country music.

Hazel Path is a historic mansion in Hendersonville, Tennessee, U.S.. The house was built in 1857 for Daniel Smith Donelson, a nephew of U.S. President Andrew Jackson and son-in-law of U.S. Navy Secretary John Branch. Donelson previously lived at the Daniel Smith Donelson House. During the American Civil War of 1861–1865, he served as a major general in the Confederate States Army.The house was designed in the Greek Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 5, 1984.

Hendersonville is the most populous city in Sumner County, Tennessee, on Old Hickory Lake. As of the 2020 census the city's population was 61,753.Hendersonville is the fourth-most populous city in the Nashville metropolitan area after Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin and the 10th largest in Tennessee. Hendersonville is located 18 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. The city was settled around 1784 by Daniel Smith, whose house Rock Castle, completed in 1796, is maintained as an historic site. The city is named for William Henderson, the first postmaster here.

Welch College, formerly the Free Will Baptist Bible College, is a private Free Will Baptist college in Gallatin, Tennessee. Founded in 1942, it is one of several higher learning institutions associated with the National Association of Free Will Baptists. Welch College offers 40 majors, including theological studies, premed/nursing, business, teacher education and music.

The House of Cash was a museum in Hendersonville, Tennessee, owned by American musician Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash, and devoted to his life and work. With part of the building also used as their headquarters offices, the museum opened in 1970, adapted from a dinner theatre built in 1960. It closed before his death in 2003. It was located at 700 East Main Street (now known as Johnny Cash Parkway). A new and unrelated Johnny Cash Museum opened in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2013.

Hendersonville High School is one of three public high schools located in Hendersonville, Sumner County, Tennessee. Since July 1, 2023, the principal has been Mel Sawyers, who formerly served as principal at Millersville and Guild Elementary Schools. HHS is part of Sumner County Schools. Two middle schools feed into Hendersonville High: Ellis Middle School and Hawkins Middle School. The school's colors have been black and gold ever since the first Commando football team in 1941, when the Vanderbilt University football program provided the first Commando football team with older, used jerseys. The black and gold colors have remained ever since. Hendersonville is known as the Commandos because 54 men were sent to fight in World War II. Hendersonville participates in 6A level sports as a part of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association, and maintains athletic programs including track, swimming, softball, bowling, baseball, wrestling, golf, hockey, soccer, football, cross country, marching band, and basketball. The school has rivalries with Gallatin High School, Beech High School and Station Camp High School.Taylor Swift attended the school until she left to begin homeschooling on her tour bus. The school's auditorium was renamed "Taylor Swift Auditorium" in her honor after she contributed funds to refurbish the lighting and sound equipment.Family Circle magazine gave Hendersonville High School a gold star for 315 seniors who logged around 20,000 hours of community service. Academically, Hendersonville has a 9/10 rating on greatschools.net.
