Chi Ming Palace (Chinese: 啟明堂; pinyin: Qǐmíng Táng) is a temple located on Lotus Lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Also called Southeast of Dili Que hall, Chi Ming palace is the most spectacular temple by Lotus Lake. Located in the west and facing the east. In 1628, Qing army occupied Taiwan, to promote Confucianism, culture and education; hence, magistrate Yang Fang Sheng had set up “Confucian Temple” at Zuoying and built “Minglun hall” at left side. In addition to there are military and political center in Zuoying, it took up the heavy responsibility to pass down. During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, Japanese religions and customs had been enforced into Taiwanese society, which led to a decline in local culture, folklore and religion. It made local community to become worried. The ancestors of Chi Ming palace who built it, Xie Zhi Weng and Chen Wang Weng, constructed “Ming De Hall” and worshiped “Five Male Bodhisattva” for main Deity under Heaven's will by tossing divination blocks. Henceforward, the ancestors who built palace dedicated painstakingly for Chi Ming palace; moreover, they looked forward to maintaining Confucian orthodoxy and hoping to revive the dying culture and tradition. The palace was rebuilt in 1973 as a three-story, palace-style, and grand architecture. It is mainly dedicated to the two sages, Confucius and Lord Guan.

Spring and Autumn Pavilions

The Spring and Autumn Pavilions (Chinese: 春秋閣; pinyin: Chūnqiū Gé) are a Taoist temple complex located on Lotus Lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Like the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, the temple is special and unique. It was built in 1953 by Chi Ming palace, were two Chinese palace-style pavilions. The complex can be seen from the top of the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.

Dragon and Tiger Pagodas

The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (Chinese: 龍虎塔; pinyin: Lónghǔ Tǎ) is a temple located at Lotus Lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The temple was built in 1976. One of the towers is the Tiger Tower, the other one being the Dragon Tower.Both towers are seven storeys tall and have yellow walls, red pillars and orange tiles. A zigzag bridge connects the towers to the shore. There are paintings inside the temple depicting Ksitigarbha. In the Tiger Tower, there are paintings of twelve Magi and the Jade Emperor's thirty palaces as well as paintings of Confucius. The towers have a double spiral staircase, one each for ascending and descending visitors. Overlooking the towers are the Small Tortoise mountains, Spring and Autumn Pavilions, 5-mile Pavilion and Pei Chi Pavilion, as well as a surrounding lake.

Kaohsiung American School

The Kaohsiung American School (KAS; Chinese: 高雄美國學校; pinyin: Gāoxióng Měiguó Xuéxiào) is a private, Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school located in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The school was established in 1989 and it is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung

Lotus Pond (Chinese: 蓮池潭; pinyin: Liánchí Tán; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Liân-tî-thâm) is an artificial lake and popular tourist destination on the east side of Zuoying District in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Opened in 1951, it is famous for the lotus plants on the lake and the numerous temples around the lake, including the Spring and Autumn Pavilions (春秋閣), the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (龍虎塔), and the Confucian Temple (孔廟). Lotus Pond was the site for several water sporting events for World Games 2009, including canoe polo, water ski, and dragon boat.
