Torkilstrup Church

Torkilstrup, also Torkildstrup, is a little village some 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) southeast of Nørre Alslev on the Danish island of Falster. It is best known for Torkilstrup Church, one of the island's oldest churches, built before 1160. The adjacent Torkilstrup Rectory and Torkilstrup Windmill are both on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places.

Torkilstrup Rectory (Danish: Torkilstrup Præstegård) is located just east of Torkilstrup Church in the village of Torkilstrup, some 7 km (4 mi) southeast of Nørre Alslev, on the Danish island of Falster. A stone outside the rectory commemorates that Bernhard Severin Ingemann was born in the building. The rectory was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1950.

Torkilstrup Windmill (Danish: Torkilstrup Mølle) is a post mill south of the village of Torkilstrup on the Danish island of Falster. Dating from 1743, it is one of the country's few post mills which still stand on their original site. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1959.

The Crocodile Zoo (Danish: Krokodille Zoo) is a zoo on the Danish island of Falster. It is located northeast of Eskilstrup, towards the northern centre of the island. Established in 2000, the zoo has the world's largest collection of crocodilians (crocodiles, alligators, caimans, gharial and relatives) with almost all existing species (24 species, same as St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park). Their male Nile crocodile Sobek, at more than 5 m (16.4 ft) long and 600 kg (1,320 lb) in weight, is the largest crocodilian in Europe, and Medusa, a 6.3 m (20.7 ft) reticulated python, is among the largest snakes in Europe. Although primarily focussed on crocodilians, the zoo is also home to cougar (puma), clouded leopard, tayra, callitrichid monkeys, six-banded armadillos, monitor lizards, iguanas, hydrosaurs, parrots, and giant tortoises.

Lolland-Falster is a common term for the two islands Lolland and Falster. The islands are only separated by the narrow strait Guldborgsund, and as such have traditionally been grouped together. Both the Gedser-Rostock and Rødby-Puttgarden ferry lines are on Lolland-Falster. The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link, due to open in 2021, will connect Rødby in Lolland with Puttgarden in Germany, thereby providing a direct link between Germany and Sweden through Lolland-Falster.

Falster Golf Club (Danish: Falster Golfklub) is a golf club in central Falster island, Denmark, to the northwest of the village of Virket. It is accessed via a road named Virketvej. The course is surrounded by extensive forest and has numerous streams and lakes in the vicinity; the largest lake is in the southeastern part of the course. The opening 9 holes are set on high land, and the back 9 are located on lower lying moorland and are generally narrower, lined with trees. The 8th hole is a long par five hole which involves a blind second short over a hill which crosses a fence. The website Top 100 Golf Courses ranks the course as the 26th best in Denmark. To the south of the club along the main road is Voldstedgaard, a house currently run as a B&B to cater to golfers playing at the club.

Danmarks Traktormuseum ("Denmark's Tractor Museum"; formerly Lolland-Falster Tractor and Engine Museum) is located in Eskilstrup on the Danish island of Falster. The tractor and motor museum is housed in a brick warehouse dating from 1918. It contains tractors and engines built between 1880 and 1960 by Bukh, Ferguson, Fiat, Ford, and Volvo.

Eskilstrup is a town some 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of Nykøbing Falster on the Danish island of Falster. As of 2023, it had a population of 1,081.

Eskilstrup Church (Danish: Eskilstrup Kirke) is a church in Eskilstrup, Denmark. The church dates from the 12th century and was built in the Romanesque style. In accordance with a local tradition, it is painted red. It is best known for its frescos, said to be Denmark's oldest.

Nørre Alslev (Danish pronunciation: [ˈnɶɐ̯ɐ ˈælˀˌsle̝w]) is a town with a population of 2,363 (1 January 2025) on the northern end of the island of Falster in south Denmark. It belongs to Guldborgsund municipality in Region Sjælland. Until 1 January 2007 Nørre Alslev was the seat of the former Nørre Alslev municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Storstrøm County. The municipality covered an area of 181 km2, and had a total population of 9,595 (2005). Its last mayor was Niels Larsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Nørre Alslev municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Nykøbing Falster, Nysted, Sakskøbing, Stubbekøbing, and Sydfalster municipalities to form the new Guldborgsund municipality. Two bridges connect the former municipality and the rest of Falster to Zealand. The 3,199 metre long Storstrøm Bridge connects the former municipality from near the town of Orehoved to Masnedø, an island in Storstrømmen, and the 201 metre long Masnedsund Bridge (Masnedsundbroen) continues from there to the town of Vordingborg. The Storstrøm Bridge supports two lanes of traffic, plus a single track of the South Line Railway. Both of these bridges were inaugurated in 1937. Further to the east are the two Farø Bridges (the 1,726 metre long Farø High Bridge and the 1,596 metre long Farø Low Bridge) which opened in 1985. Nørre Alslev has a railway station along the South Line Railway.

Tingsted Church, located on high ground in the village of Tingsted on the Danish island of Falster, dates from c. 1200. Built in the Romanesque style, it is best known for its frescos from the end of the 15th century.

Tingsted is a village 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) northeast of Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster. Tingsted played an important role in early Danish history as a venue for lawmaking and diplomatic agreements. 1. January 2023 it had a population of 214.
