Crom Estate

Crom Castle (Irish: Caisleán na Croime) is a country house on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, the seat of the Earls Erne. Standing within the 1,900-acre (7.7 km2) Crom Estate, and within a formal garden, the castle is built in stone. A central battlemented tower includes the main entrance, and there are also smaller towers to one side. It stands apart from the ruins of Old Crom Castle, of which two towers, some walls, and a ha-ha survive, and near them two ancient yew trees, believed to be at least 800 years old.

The Rag River is a river in County Cavan, Ireland. It rises in Mullaghdoo Lough, in the townland of Aghnacreevy, parish of Kildallan, and flows in a north-easterly direction through the lakes of Clonty Lough, Togher Lough, Lough Rud, Aghavoher Lough, Killywilly Lough, Cuillaghan Lough, Tomkinroad Lough, Lough Tee Lower and Corraback Lough. It discharges into the Shannon–Erne Waterway in the townland of Corraback. It has a fish population of pike, bream, rudd, roach, gudgeon and perch. Archaeological finds in the river include dugout canoes, socketed bronze axes and Irish elk antlers. The structures of interest along the river include Ardlougher Bridge, Greenville Corn Mill, Togher Bridge, Cranaghan Bridge, Killywilly Cavan & Leitrim Railway Level Crossing, Killywilly Corn Mill [1], Killywilly Bleach Mill, Killywilly Bridge, Tomkinroad Cavan & Leitrim Railway Bridge, Tomkinroad Cavan & Leitrim Railway Station & Level Crossing, Tomkinroad Creamery, Drumrush Corn Mill & Weir, Droghill Bridge, Feedarragh Bridge & Stepping Stones.

Inis Rath is an island located in Lough Erne, in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is also known as Hare Krishna Island.The main building on the island is a Victorian mansion, built by Cavendish Butler. It was later sold to Lord Erne and became a hunting lodge.In 1982 a group of Hare Krishna monks bought Inis Rath and converted the house into a Hare Krishna centre. An ISKCON temple was created in the west wing.Inis Rath has a 22-acre nature reserve which is open to the public. However, they are requested not to eat meat, smoke or drink alcohol while on the island. The only visitor amenities are an eco-friendly toilet block and a free ferry service, which operates on Sundays.

Knockarevan is a townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The highest temperature in Northern Ireland recorded by the Met Office, 30.8 °C (87.4 °F), occurred at Knockarevan in County Fermanagh on 30 June 1976.

The Senator George Mitchell Peace Bridge (informally called the Peace Bridge or Aghalane Bridge) is a road bridge across the border of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It carries the A509 / N3 road between Enniskillen in County Fermanagh and Cavan in County Cavan. The bridge spans the Woodford River (Irish: Sruth Gráinne, meaning 'the Gravelly Stream' or 'the Gravelly River', sometimes anglicised as the River Gráinne or the Graine River).

Aghalurcher is a civil parish located mainly in the barony of Magherastephana in County Fermanagh and partly in the barony of Clogher in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Belturbet Town Hall (Irish: Halla an Bhaile Béal Tairbirt) is a municipal building in The Diamond in Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland. It is currently used as a community centre and as a library.

The Belturbet bombing occurred on 28 December 1972 when a car bomb planted by Loyalist paramilitaries exploded in the main street in the border town of Belturbet in County Cavan in the Republic of Ireland. The bomb killed two teenagers Geraldine O'Reilly (15) and Patrick Stanley (16). Nobody claimed responsibility for the bombing but security services believe the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) carried out the attack. The attack happened just a few weeks after two people were killed and 127 injured when two car bombs exploded in the centre of Dublin, Republic of Ireland on 1 December 1972. On the same day as the Belturbet bombing, two other bombs exploded in border counties, the first in Clones, County Monaghan which injured two people and the second in Pettigo in County Donegal which caused no deaths or injuries. The three bombs all exploded within 49 minutes of each other.

Belturbet (; Irish: Béal Tairbirt, meaning 'mouth of the isthmus') is a town in County Cavan, Ireland. It lies on the N3 road, around 14 km (8.7 mi) north of Cavan town and 123 km (76 mi) from Dublin. It is also located around 4 km (2.5 mi) south of the border with Northern Ireland, between the counties of Cavan and Fermanagh, and 36 km (22 mi) from Enniskillen.

The A34 is a road in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. The route carries traffic from the A4 in Maguiresbridge (east of Enniskillen) via Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler (connecting with the B533 to Wattlebridge on the A3) to Clones in County Monaghan. The route is 15.2 miles long, however the last 1.2 miles lie in the Republic of Ireland, forming part of the R183 at Clones. The R183 continues to Castleblaney. The A34 runs to the east of Upper Lough Erne. The section between Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler once formed the old coach road between Dublin and Enniskillen.

Aghalurcher (Irish: Achad-urchaire, Achad-lurchaire, meaning 'Field of the Cast') was a pre-Norman monastery located east of the shore of upper Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, founded according to legend by Saint Ronan in the sixth to early seventh century and dedicated to him in the ninth century. The site includes the ruins of a medieval church with a small gated vault (locked) — where sculptural fragments are stored — and a gateway constructed with stones from the church. The church was remodelled in 1447 with a new roof added. The site seems to have been abandoned after a murder on the altar effectively deconsecrated the church.The site includes some interesting gravestones of the late eighteenth century, plus an early medieval carved head on the gateway. Additional sculptural fragments from the site are at the Fermanagh County Museum at Enniskillen Castle.

Donagh (pronounced DOH-nə, from Irish Domhnach, meaning 'church') is a small village and townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It lies between Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler in the south-east of the county. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 255. It is situated within Fermanagh and Omagh district. There is another townland called Donagh in County Fermanagh, as well as one in County Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland. Donagh was originally known in Irish as Ua Dúnáin Dhomhnaigh Maighe da Claoíne do Mharbhad (meaning 'O'Doonan's Church of the Plain of the Two Slopes'), later known in Irish as Domhnach Maighe Dhá Chlaoine (meaning 'Church of the Plain of the Two Slopes'). It was originally anglicised as 'Donoghmoychinny' or 'Donaghmoyline'. It was later anglicised simply as Donagh.
