Parker is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in central Yakima County, Washington, United States. It is located on U.S. Route 97 between the cities of Union Gap and Wapato on the Yakama Indian Reservation. The town had a population of 154 at the 2010 census.

On the night of February 1, 1993, motorists on State Route 24 (SR 24) east of Yakima, Washington, saw a man wandering on the highway near Rivard Road in the town of Moxee. They turned to warn other drivers after passing him, but when they returned they found the man had been struck by another vehicle which had left the scene; he was quickly pronounced dead. He was not identified as David Glenn Lewis for another 11 years, after a police officer discovered a photograph of his distinctive glasses in an online missing-persons report.How and why the 39-year-old Lewis traveled 1,606 mi (2,585 km) from his home near Amarillo, Texas, where he was last confirmed to have been seen three days earlier, to Central Washington, is not known. He had no known connections to that area. A former judge teaching a class in government and working in private practice, Lewis had remained in Amarillo over the previous weekend so he could watch Super Bowl XXVII while his wife and daughter went shopping in Dallas. At the time of his death he was wearing military-style camouflage fatigues and work boots, clothing his family did not recognize as his. The cause of death was found to have been injuries from being struck by a vehicle, but neither that vehicle nor its driver have ever been identified. As a result it is not known whether foul play was involved.

KHHK, also known as "HOT 99.7", is a Rhythmic Contemporary Hit Radio station licensed to Yakima, Washington. The Stephens Media Group-owned station broadcast at 99.7 MHz on the FM dial with an ERP of 4.1 kW. On May 26, 2010, it was rumored KHHK's parent company New Northwest Broadcasters's stations could possibly be sold in the near future. Principal of Revitalization Partners, Alan Davis says "The stations are on the air; it’s business as usual. I can only tell you there appears to be demand for the stations." In 2012, the stations were sold to James Ingstad of Fargo, North Dakota. In April 2018, it was in turn sold to Stephens Media Group.

Moxee is a small suburban community southeast of Yakima, Washington. Yakima and Moxee are both north of the Yakama Indian Reservation in Yakima County, Washington, United States. The population of Moxee was 4,326 at the 2020 census.According to the Washington State Office of Financial Management, Moxee ranked 5th of 279 eligible incorporated communities in population growth between 2000 and 2005.

Artesian is an unincorporated community in Yakima County, Washington, United States, located approximately one mile east of Moxee. The community was named by James H. Gano, because several artesian wells were found in the area. Gano established the community's post office in his home in 1900.

Ahtanum Creek is a tributary of the Yakima River in the U.S. state of Washington. It starts at the confluence of the Middle and North Forks of Ahtanum Creek near Tampico, flows along the north base of Ahtanum Ridge, ends at the Yakima River near Union Gap and forms a portion of the northern boundary of the Yakama Indian Reservation. The name Ahtanum originates from the Sahaptin language, which was spoken by Native Americans in the region. The North Fork enters the Middle Fork just upstream from its confluence with the South Fork. These three forks have sources in the Cascade Mountains. The creek has had several different official names since Europeans settled the region, all of which have been variant spellings of Ahtanum. The current spelling has been in place since 1916. Seasonal flooding associated with snow melting in the spring is common.

East Valley High School, located in Yakima, Washington, is a high school that serves 830 students in grades 9–12. From 2012 to 2016, the principal was Dorthea Say and from 2016 to 2021, Kayla Crowe. The principal is now Ryan McDaniel, since 2021.

Birchfield is an unincorporated community in Yakima County, Washington, United States, located between Terrace Heights and Moxee. The community was founded in 1910 by the North Yakima and Valley Railway Company, and was named after a local landowner, W. A. Burchfield. The name later became Birchfield as a result a misspelling resulting from poor penmanship.
