Young Oak Kim Academy (YOKA) is a middle school within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Local District 4. It was established in 2009 as the only middle school in the LAUSD to practice single-sex education. The school is named in honor of Colonel Young-Oak Kim, the first Asian-American colonel to lead a U.S. battalion in war. It is L.A.'s first middle school, and the third school overall, named for a Korean American. The building was designed by the architectural firm Arquitectonica adjacent to its Wilshire Vermont Station mixed use transit village development.

Wilshire/Vermont station is an underground rapid transit (known locally as a subway) station on the B Line and D Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, after which the station is named, in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Koreatown. Unlike the other stations on Wilshire or Vermont which were built directly under the street, this station is offset on a diagonal between the two streets, allowing the lines to diverge without trains on one line having to slow for a tight turn. The station has a unique layout with two side platforms on two levels, necessitated by the flying junction between the lines just west of the station.

The Islamic Center of Southern California is a mosque and Islamic cultural center located in Los Angeles, California. It is located on Vermont Avenue adjacent to the Chinese Consulate General in the Wilshire Center neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is one of the largest mosques in Southern California with thousands praying there every Friday. Although the institution dates back to 1952, the center's current mosque opened in the late 1970s.

United Teachers Los Angeles is the main representative of certified, non-administrative staff in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Prior to 1970, primary and secondary school teachers in Los Angeles were chiefly represented by a local of the American Federation of Teachers (called the Los Angeles Teachers Alliance, LATA) and the Associated Classroom Teachers of Los Angeles (ACT-LA) which was affiliated to the National Education Association. There were other smaller teachers unions active before 1970 that also merged into UTLA. Over a dozen different organizations merged to form UTLA. The first broad federation of Los Angeles School District teachers was the Affiliated Teacher Organizations of Los Angeles, formed between 1930 and 1932. UTLA is very active in California's political sphere, especially since Proposition 13, which severely limited the amount that public schools can receive from property taxes. This shifted the burden to the state and increased the competition between state funded groups. The union has also advocated strongly against school voucher programs and attempts to break up the school district.

The Talmadge is a historic brick residential building in Los Angeles, California and which bears the name of silent film actress Norma Talmadge.

Los Angeles Pacific College was a four-year, liberal-arts college located on 5732 Ebey Avenue in the Hermon neighborhood of Hispanic East Los Angeles, California.The school was founded in 1903 to teach children and youth in grades one to twelve, by a group of laymen and staff of the Free Methodist Church, an Arminian Holiness sect. The campus also hosted a small all-women’s (junior) college from 1911 to 1960. The college failed in 1965.

Bullocks Wilshire, located at 3050 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, is a 230,000-square-foot (21,000 m2) Art Deco building. The building opened in September 1929 as a luxury department store for owner John G. Bullock (owner of the more mainstream Bullock's in Downtown Los Angeles). Bullocks Wilshire was also the name of the department store chain of which the Los Angeles store was the flagship; it had seven stores total; Macy's incorporated them into and rebranded them as I. Magnin in 1989, before closing I. Magnin entirely in 1994. It is currently owned by Southwestern Law School.

Immanuel Presbyterian Church is a church in Los Angeles, California. The congregation was established in 1888 in downtown Los Angeles as a spinoff from the existing First Presbyterian Church, also then located in downtown. The church's current building was completed in 1929, and is located on Wilshire Boulevard in what is now the Koreatown district of Los Angeles. The church was listed as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument on February 4, 2003.

The Hotel Chancellor is a historic building in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, California. Built in 1924, it was for many years located on the block to the east of the city's famous Ambassador Hotel. The structure was designed by Milton M. Friedman in the Beaux Arts style. It has since been converted from a hotel to an apartment building. In 2006, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places based on architectural criteria. It is a five-story building designed with a lobby, a lounge/restaurant, and a banquet/ballroom on the ground level and in its partial basement level. It originally had 114 units on its four upper levels; these were modified to 106 units. It is about 150 by 60 feet (46 m × 18 m) in plan.
