Wartling

Herstmonceux Park is a 4.3-hectare (11-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Herstmonceux in East Sussex.This narrow stream valley has seven examples of wetland habitats on Tunbridge Wells sandstone and it is notable for its fen vegetation. The site is the location of two plants which are rare in south-east England, milk-parsley and Cornish moneywort. There are several artificial ponds which have a variety of aquatic plant species.A public footpath runs through the site

England's Medieval Festival is a medieval-themed festival held over the August bank holiday at, Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex, England. Held over three days, the festival features jousting, falconry, knights battles, medieval camping, traditional and modern folk music, medieval banqueting, re-enactments, battles, horses, theatre, crafts, workshops, shopping, medieval food, drink and real ale. The first medieval festival was held in 1993 as a celebration of the new ownership by Queen's University, and received several hundred guests. Later festivals have been attended by audiences of several thousand. England's Medieval Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017 supported by local and national societies including The Archers of Herstmonceux Castle, the Medieval Siege Society re-enactment group, Sussex Falconry and the Pentacle Drummers. In 2022, the Festival was cancelled due to the Castle's owners withdrawing permission for its use.

Herstmonceux Castle is a brick-built castle, dating from the 15th century, near Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England. It is one of the oldest significant brick buildings still standing in England. The castle was renowned for being one of the first buildings to use that material in England, and was built using bricks taken from the local clay, by builders from Flanders. It dates from 1441. Construction began under the then-owner, Sir Roger Fiennes, and was continued after his death in 1449 by his son, Lord Dacre.The parks and gardens of Herstmonceux Castle and Place are Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Other listed structures on the Herstmonceux estate include the Grade II listed walled garden to the north of the castle, and the Grade II* listed telescopes and workshops of the Herstmonceux Science Centre.

Pevensey Levels is a 3,603.2-hectare (8,904-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between Bexhill-on-Sea and Hailsham in East Sussex. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, a Ramsar site and a Special Area of Conservation. An area of 183.5 hectares (453 acres) is a national nature reserve and an area of 150 hectares (370 acres) is a nature reserve called Pevensey Marshes which is managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust.This is a large area of wetland grazing meadows intersected by a network of ditches. It has many nationally rare invertebrates. It may be the best site in Britain for freshwater mollusc fauna, including the endangered shining ram's-horn snail. It also has one nationally rare and several nationally scarce aquatic plants and it is of national importance for lapwing, with more than 1% of the British population.

RAF Wartling was a Royal Air Force station located near the village of Wartling in East Sussex. It was a Second World War and later Cold War Ground Controlled Interception (GCI) station built to complement the nearby Chain Home station at RAF Pevensey.

Boreham Street is a small village in the Wealden district of East Sussex, England. Its nearest towns are Hailsham, which lies approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) west of the village and Battle, which lies approximately 6.5 miles (10.5 km) to the east. A number of listed buildings line the village high street. Boreham Street sits atop a ridge with views south over the Pevensey Levels towards Normans Bay and the coast and to the north over open farmland. Boreham Street has the 'Bull's Head' public house and Scolfe's restaurant/tea rooms. The village hall, Reid Hall, holds local events.

Church Farm Ditch is a minor, 1.2-kilometre (0.75 mi) long river—brook—and drainage ditch of the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. Flowing a southeasterly course just south of Herstmonceux, it rises from Church Farm Feed and immediately gives rise to Curteis Ditch, before eventually flowing into Kentland Sewer. It is named after Church Farm, through which it flows. Church Farm Ditch also gives rise and receives the waters of several unnamed streams.

Herstmonceux Place is an 18th-century country house in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England. It was divided into apartments in the 1950s. The house stands within a 148 hectares (370 acres) shared estate with Herstmonceux Castle. Herstmonceux Place is a Grade I listed building.The gardens and parks of Herstmonceux Place and Castle are Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Windmill Hill Mill is a grade II* listed post mill at Herstmonceux, Sussex, England which has been restored and now operates as a working mill. The mill is open to the public on most Sundays from Easter until October.

Windmill Hill is a village in the civil parish of Herstmonceux, in the Wealden district of East Sussex, England. In 2020 it had an estimated population of 585.

Manxey Sewer is a 2.5-kilometre (1.6 mi) long stream (brook) and drainage ditch in the Pevensey Levels in Hailsham, in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England. Rising from Chilley Stream, Manxey Sewer flows an easterly course and flows underneath Warthing Road via a culvert before draining into Old Haven.

Herstmonceux Free Church is a congregational chapel located in Herstmonceux, East Sussex. It was initially constructed at its site on Chapel Row in 1811. The church is a member of the Congregational Federation and has an active membership of around 40 people. The building is grade II listed by English Heritage as a building of special architectural or historical interest.
