The Mifflin School, built in 1825, is the oldest surviving school building used in the Philadelphia public school system. It is a two-story, two-bay red brick building, which now has its side walls stuccoed over. In the first phase of the development of the public school system in Philadelphia, 1818–1850, simple school buildings were built by local authorities in a decentralized system. During this period, 49 buildings were built by 7 local school boards, with only 4 surviving.

Philadelphia Contemporary is an arts organization that commissions and presents contemporary visual art, performance art, and spoken word. It was founded in 2016 with the intention to build a new non-collecting museum in Philadelphia for contemporary art in all of its forms. Philadelphia Contemporary organizes exhibitions and events through partnerships and space-borrowing with institutions such as the Barnes Foundation, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, the Brandywine River Museum of Art, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.In 2018, Philadelphia Contemporary announced that the architecture firm Johnston Marklee would design their new building.

St. John's Church, Northern Liberties was a historic church at 220–230 Brown Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1815 and is one of architect William Strickland's oldest surviving designs. The same year he also designed the Second Bank of the United States. The church is the seventh oldest surviving church in the state of Pennsylvania, not counting earlier Quaker meetinghouses.In 1931 the church was consecrated as the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church and was sold by the Episcopalian parish to the Romanian community in 1972. Sometime before 1931, a wooden steeple was built above the entrance. In 1983 the church was added to the National Register.

Olde Kensington, also known as South Kensington, is a neighborhood located in North Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Olde Kensington is north of Northern Liberties, south of Norris Square, east of Ludlow, and west of Fishtown. The National Shrine of St. John Neumann is a Roman Catholic National shrine dedicated to St. John Neumann, the fourth Bishop of Philadelphia and the first American male to be canonized. The shrine is located in the lower church of St. Peter the Apostle Church at 1019 North 5th Street, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The construction of the main church began in 1843. Adjoining the lower church is a small museum, which displays exhibits relating to the life of the saint. The National Shrine of St. John Neumann and St. Peter's Church are under the care of the Redemptorists, the religious community of which St. John Neumann was a member.

Indy Hall is a coworking community with an international online membership and a communal space based in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. It was originally founded in late 2006, in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, by Alex Hillman and Geoff DiMasi, making it one of the oldest independent coworking spaces in the United States and the oldest coworking space in the city of Philadelphia.

St. Andrew's Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox cathedral in Philadelphia. Established in 1897, it is the oldest Eastern Orthodox Christian Church in Philadelphia. The current rector is the Archpriest Mark Shinn. It is located at 5th Street & Fairmount Avenue. The church was built by members of the Russian Navy who were awaiting completion of two Russian warships which were being built at Cramp's Shipyard for use in the Russo Japanese War, the Variag and Retvizan. The reason for the construction was that the sailors had no Russian Orthodox church to attend in Philadelphia and also wished to leave a place of worship for local Russian Orthodox people. The land and all materials and labor were donated by the sailors and construction was completed in 1897. Adjacent to the church stands a small museum with photos, names and uniforms of the sailors who participated in the building of the church and also photos of their two ships which were both sunk by the Japanese during the war.

The Philadelphia Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services (EMS) to the city of Philadelphia. The PFD's official mission is to protect public safety by quick and professional response to emergencies and through the promotion of sound emergency prevention measures. This mandate encompasses all traditional firefighting functions, including fire suppression, with 58 engine companies and 27 ladder companies as well as specialty and support units deployed throughout the city; specialized firefighting units for Philadelphia International Airport and the Port of Philadelphia; investigations conducted by the Fire Marshal's Office to determine the origins of fires and to develop preventive strategies; prevention programs to educate the public in order to increase overall fire safety; and support services such as: research and planning, management of the Fire Communications Center within the City's 911 system, and operation of the Fire Academy. The delivery of emergency medical services now generates more than seventy percent of the department's total calls for services. Furthermore, the department's Regional Emergency Medical Services Office is responsible for regulating all public and private ambulance services within the city. Lastly, the department enforces all state and federal hazardous materials (HAZMAT) regulations within the city, and coordinates the response to such incidents. The IAFF local is 22.The PFD is the largest fire department in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also has the busiest Emergency Medical Services division in the United States with a single ambulance, Medic 2, responding to 8,788 calls in 2013 and Medic 8 responded to 9,011 calls in 2018.

The Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church is located at Front and Allen Streets in Philadelphia, PA 19123 in the Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania section of the city; after over 140 years as an independent parish, it became a worship site of the adjacent St. Michael's parish in 2011. The parish celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2019, having been founded in 1869 under the leadership of Bishop James Frederick Wood. Twenty-five years earlier, two Catholic parishes within about a mile of the church—St. Augustine Church, Philadelphia at 4th and Vine and St. Michael [1] at 2nd and Jefferson—were burnt to the ground in violent anti-Catholic nativist riots. The church continued as an independent parish or as a worship site for almost 150 years until, in the fall of 2019, it was announced that the church building would be closed permanently.

Spring Garden station is a SEPTA rapid transit station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, on the Market–Frankford Line. It is located on Spring Garden Street between 2nd and Front Streets in the Northern Liberties neighborhood. It is the westernmost station of the Frankford Elevated section of the line and the last westbound station before trains enter Center City Philadelphia. Though the station's official address is on North Front Street, it is actually located in the median of the Delaware Expressway (Interstate 95) over Spring Garden Street, just north of the highway's interchange with the Vine Street Expressway (Interstate 676). The station is also served by two SEPTA City Bus routes, the 25 and 43.
