The Iglesia y convento de la Recoleta Dominica is a church and convent in Recoleta, Santiago de Chile. The church and convent were declared as a National Monument in 1974.

Cerro Blanco is a hill and historical landmark in the city of Santiago, Chile. This geographic feature rises 89 metres (292 ft) above the surrounding terrain and covers a surface area of 28 hectares (69 acres). It is bordered by Recoleta Avenue on the east, Santos Dumont Avenue on the south and La Unión Street on the north. The latter street separates the hill from the Cementerio General de Santiago. Cerro Blanco (Blanco is Spanish for white) is named so because the white habit used by the Domenicans who were owners of the land where the hill stands during the colonial period.Completed in 1840, the Iglesia de la Viñita (Church of the Small Wineyard) is located at the lower southeast flank of Cerro Blanco, which is consecrated to Our Lady of Montserrat.Stones extracted from a quarry on Cerro Blanco, were used in the construction of some historical buildings in Santiago, including the Santo Domingo Church. Cerro Blanco metro station is named for the hill.

Parroquia de Santa Filomena (Parish of Santa Filomena) is a church located in the Patronato District of the Recoleta Municipality in the city of Santiago, Chile. This church is named after Santa Filomena, a saint and a martyr. The Santa Filomena Church was built in 1884 by the architect Eugenio Joannon and under the supervision of Ruperto Marchant, a priest. This church is the result of the war against the Indians volunteer and non profit organizations that followed the Rerum novarum encyclical published by Pope Leo XII. The church follows a Neo-Gothic style. The inside is decorated with paintings that emulate materials such as stone and marble. A chiaroscuro effect is obtained with the glass paintings that were brought directly from France. This church was used by the Josephite Fathers Congregation that came from Italy and was built with donations from wealthy families of the nineteenth century.The Santa Filomena church has resisted numerous earthquakes that have left it with structural damage. A 1985 earthquake was particularly harmful. The damage has however been repaired. Since 1995 the Santa Filomena Church was declared Chilean national heritage.The church was restored thanks to the contributions of the Patronato District. It is not only an important attraction of this district, but it is also used a temple of worship.

Patronato is an underground metro station on the Line 2 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. The tunnel that connects the station with Puente Cal y Canto metro station passes under the Mapocho River. The station is named after the neighborhood where it is located, which is Patronato. The station was opened on 8 September 2004 as part of the extension of the line from Puente Cal y Canto to Cerro Blanco.

Cementerios is an underground metro station on Line 2 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. The word cementerios means "cemeteries" in English and the station is so named due to its surroundings of Recoleta Avenue that forms the borders of two cemeteries, the Santiago General Cemetery to the west and the smaller Catholic Cemetery to the east. The station was opened on November 25, 2005, as part of the extension of the line from Cerro Blanco to Einstein.

The Memorial for the Disappeared (Spanish: Memorial del Detenido Desaparecido y del Ejecutado Político) is a memorial wall at the entrance to Santiago General Cemetery in Santiago, Chile, commemorating the 3,000 people disappeared or murdered following the 1973 Chilean coup d'état. Inscribed in the long, high, marble wall are the names of 3,000 people disappeared or murdered following the 1973 Chilean coup d'état. The wall serves as a crypt. When newly identified remains are brought to the wall, their listed names move from "disappeared" to "deceased". The memorial is frequented by visitors and at its base are piled flower bouquets, photographs, and calls for governmental action. Atop the wall is a line from Chilean poet Raul Zurita, translated as, "All my love is here and here has stayed: Tied to the rocks, to the sea, to the mountains". It is the best known Chilean memory site.

La Vega Central, also known as the Feria Mapocho (Mapocho market), is a market located at the far south of Recoleta commune in Santiago de Chile, almost at the north bank of the Mapocho River. A wide variety of products are sold in its surrounds, principally fresh fruit and vegetables from the Chilean Central Valley. La Vega Central is also home to over 500 dairy, meat, goods and merchandise stores, and offers a variety of Chilean cuisine. Today, hundreds of thousands of people pass daily through La Vega's 60,000 square meters of stalls. La Vega Central has now achieved iconic status in Chile's capital. A long-time vendor at the market was quoted as saying, “Markets nowadays compete (for customers) by using marketing, but La Vega has never had to resort to this. It subsists on its own creation and that is its magic.”

The Santiago General Cemetery (Spanish: Cementerio General de Santiago) in Santiago, Chile, is one of the largest cemeteries in Latin America with an estimated two million burials. The cemetery was established in 1821 after Chile's independence when Bernardo O'Higgins inaugurated the Alameda de las Delicias along the old course of the Mapocho River. O'Higgins set aside more than 85 hectares of land for the foundation of what became a magnificent grounds filled with ornate mausoleums surrounded by palm and leaf trees set amidst lush gardens and numerous sculptures, which have been estimated be 237. The cemetery, which is located northwest of Cerro Blanco, serves as a true urban park for Santiago. This cemetery is the final resting place for at least 172 of the most influential people in Chile, including all but two of the deceased Presidents of Chile, the exceptions being Gabriel González Videla and Augusto Pinochet. One of the most visited memorials is that of former President Salvador Allende who had been buried in the Santa Ines cemetery at Viña del Mar following his suicide in the 1973 coup d'état. With the democratic changes that began in the 1990s, Allende was exhumed and his remains were transported in a solemn procession through the streets of Santiago to a place of honor in the Cementerio General de Santiago. The cemetery also has a memorial to the people that were 'disappeared' during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet that ousted President Allende. The gatehouse that serves as the main entrance to the cemetery is crowned by a dome, which acts as a terminating vista for La Paz Avenue. This entrance is preceded by the Plaza La Paz, a semicircular plaza whose curved portion is framed by two exposed brick arcades. At the center of the square stands a monument dedicated to the people who died in the Church of the Company Fire. The cemetery can be accessed via Cementerios metro station. The historical portion of the cemetery was designated as a national monument in 2010, reaching the same status as Patio 29.

The Iglesia del Monasterio del Carmen Bajo de San Rafael is a Catholic church located on Independencia Avenue, in the district of Independencia of the city of Santiago, Chile. Founded as a monastery in 1770, operated as such until 1958, and since 1985 is the seat for the Vicaría Episcopal Zona Norte of the Archdiocese of Santiago. The church, along with the surviving buildings of the former monastery, was declared as a National Monument of Chile on November 24, 1983, within the category of Historic Monuments.

Hospitales is an underground metro station of Line 3 of the Santiago Metro network, in Santiago, Chile. It is an underground, between the Plaza Chacabuco and Puente Cal y Canto stations on Line 3. It is located at the intersection of Independencia Avenue with Profesor Zañartu Avenue. The station was opened on 22 January 2019 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Los Libertadores to Fernando Castillo Velasco.
