Herstedvester Church

Herstedvester Prison (Danish: Herstedvester Fængsel) is a prison in Herstedvester, Greater Copenhagen, Denmark, for treatment by the Danish Prison and Probation Service. It houses convicted felons and in some cases also people with custody rulings in need of psychiatric assistance and observation. Herstedvester was built in 1935 for the detention and imprisonment of psychopaths. Upon establishment, they were the first European prison to use a treatment method known as democratic therapeutic community. The institution has a capacity of 143 people in the closed section and 23 in the semi-open section.Greenlandic prisoners considered too high risk for the open-style prisons in Greenland all used to serve in Herstedvester. In 2019, Greenland's first fully closed prison opened in the capital Nuuk and Greenlandic prisoners in Herstedvester were offered a transfer. However, a large proportion have wished to continue serving their sentence in Herstedvester instead of Nuuk.Several notable inmates have for periods stayed at Herstedvester, including Abel Klemmensen, Peter Lundin and Peter Madsen.

Vridsløselille Prison (Danish: Vridsløselille Fængsel) is a former state prison located in Albertslund in the western suburbs of Copenhagen in Denmark. It was operated as a state prison from its opening in 1859 to January 2016 and then served as a special departure center for rejected asylum seekers with prison sentences until February 2018. The prison was used for the enforcement of imprisonment and execution of arrests and had a total of 241 inmates. The State Prison in Vridsløselille was a closed prison facility for men over the age of 23. It was replaced by Storstrøm Prison on the isle of Falster, which was opened in 2017.

Albertslund station is an S-train station serving the Danish capital Copenhagen suburb of Albertslund, west of the city.It is located on the Taastrup radial of Copenhagen's S-train network. It serves the core of Albertslund, a residential suburb built virtually from scratch in the 1960s and 1970s. The extensive residential areas in the northern end of Albertslund municipality are served by local buses from Albertslund and Glostrup stations.

Albertslund is a Copenhagen suburb in Albertslund Municipality, Denmark. It is located 15 km (9.3 mi) west of central Copenhagen, with a population of around 30,000. Albertslund is a planned community or new town mainly built in the 1960s and 1970s. The suburb is known for its experimental and innovative low rise urban planning, integrating water and green spaces in the architecture. Albertslund station is connected to the Copenhagen S-train system and has an open-air shopping centre, Albertslund Centrum

Albertslund Municipality (Danish: Albertslund Kommune) is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 23,04 km2, and has a population of 27,530 (1. January 2023). Its mayor is Steen Christiansen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. As of 2010 the social democrats have 9 of the 21 seats in the city council. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Albertslund. The original name of the municipality was Herstedernes Kommune. In 1973 the name was changed to Albertslund Kommune. The name Herstederne represents the two communities of Herstedvester and Herstedøster which were the original villages in the area together with Vridsløse and Risby. Neighboring municipalities are Glostrup to the east, Ballerup and Egedal municipality to the north, Høje-Taastrup to the west, and Vallensbæk and Brøndby to the south. Albertslund is home to Danmarks International Kollegium, which has won many awards for its design. Albertslund is also known for its effort in raising awareness about climate change. Albertslund Municipality was not merged with other municipalities by 1 January 2007 as the result of nationwide 2007 Municipal Reform. In 1973 Friluftsbadet Badesøen opened for the first time in Albertslund.

Herstedøster Church (Danish: Herstedøster Kirke) is a church in the northern outskirts of Albertslund, Albertslund Municipality, Denmark. In medieval times, the Romanesque church was dedicated to Saint Nicholas. The tower is of late-Gothic origin. The church interior was given a major renovation in 1994 by Alan Havsteen-Mikkelsen. In 1973, R. Smalley discovered frescoes dated to around 1175, probably the date of origin of the church. On 1 February 2009 a major fire broke out at the church.

Taastrup Campus is a university campus operated by University of Copenhagen (UCPH) in Taastrup on the western outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. The campus is home to space-consuming activities of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (including the University Teaching Hospital for Large Animals) and the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences whose Section for Crop Sciences along with experimental fields, greenhouses and an extensive pometum.

The Coop Danmark subsidiary operates the retail store chains of Kvickly, Brugsen, SuperBrugsen, Dagli'Brugsen, LokalBrugsen, Fakta, Coop 365 and Irma supermarkets as well as the furniture company FDB Møbler. The last two subsidiaries comprise Coop Bank and Coop Invest.

Taastrup station (Danish pronunciation: [ˈtsʰʌˌstʁɔp stæˈɕoˀn]) is a Copenhagen S-train railway station serving the railway town/suburb of Taastrup west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the Taastrup radial of Copenhagen's S-train network.

Taastrup (or Tåstrup) (Danish pronunciation: [ˈtsʰɒstʁɔp]) is a Danish railway town or/and suburb of Copenhagen - 18 km west of Copenhagens city centre. The town forms a twin urban area with neighbouring suburb Høje Taastrup, Taastrup rising since 1859 and Høje Taastrup rising west of the town, since the 1970's. The town/suburb development has engulfed the villages of Taastrup Valby, Høje Taastrup, Kragehave and Klovtofte, although Høje Taastrup still has a preserved village character around Høje Taastrup Church. The town is the administrative seat of Høje-Taastrup Municipality, Region Hovedstaden; the seat placed in Taastrup first and since moving to Høje- Taastrup in the beginning of the 1980's. In 2023 a new town hall was opened on 14th February. The town is growing closer to the town of Hedehusene, both towns developing towards each other, and both situated in the municipality. The population on 1 January 2023 was 36,193 (excluding Hedehusene) .Taastrup took its name from its rise on the lands north of the village of Taastrup Valby. Taastrup Valby means "Valby by (Høje) Taastrup", named "Taastrup Valby" to avoid confusion with other locations like Valby.
