Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse

Hoops Family Field at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex is a 1,006-capacity soccer-specific stadium in Huntington, West Virginia where it is the home of Marshall University's men's and women's soccer teams. It was built on the former site of the Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse, which was demolished in order to build the stadium. An inaugural double-header took place on August 23, 2013. The men's team held a scrimmage against Marshall alumni from past years resulting in a 2–0 victory. The women's team faced the Campbell University Fighting Camels and won 3–0.The stadium hosted the 2016 Conference USA Men's Soccer Tournament, 2023 Sun Belt Tournament, and NCAA Tournament games. "The Vet" has hosted the Mountain State Derby four times with the Thundering Herd amassing a record of 3-0-1. The 2023 Sun Belt Championship edition of the Mountain State Derby was the highest-attended soccer game ever in West Virginia with 3,151 in the crowd.

Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company is a historic factory building located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia, USA. The original building was constructed in 1917 and is a four-story, red brick, Commercial Style warehouse building, measuring 140 by 80 feet (43 by 24 m). At the rear of the building is an addition built in 1920. It is a two-story, red brick, Commercial Style warehouse building, measuring 210 by 80 feet (64 by 24 m). Also on the property is the redrying plant, built in 1910. It is a long, one story brick industrial building with a gable roof. The complex was built by the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company as a tobacco warehouse and cigarette factory.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Downtown Huntington Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The original district encompassed 59 contributing buildings; the boundary increase added 53 more contributing buildings. It includes the central business district of Huntington, and includes several of its municipal and governmental buildings. It contains the majority of the historic concentration of downtown commercial buildings. Notable buildings include the Huntington City Hall, Johnson Memorial Church (c.1886/1912/1935), Trinity Episcopal Church (1882), Davis Opera House (c. 1885), Love Hardware Building (c. 1884), Reuschleins Jewelry building (1923), the Newcomb Building (c. 1902), the Morrison Building (1919), Keith-Albee Theater (1928), West Virginia Building (c. 1924), and Gideon Building (c. 1915). Located in the district are the separately listed Carnegie Public Library, Cabell County Courthouse, U.S. Post Office and Court House, and Campbell-Hicks House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. A boundary increase occurred in 2007.

Sam Hood Field was a soccer-specific stadium located in Huntington, West Virginia on the campus of Marshall University next to Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The stadium was built by and named for Marshall University alumnus and former head men's soccer coach Stephen M. "Sam" Hood. The 1,500-seat stadium was built in 1995 and was home to the men's and women's soccer programs from Marshall. Prior to 1995 the teams played at Edwards Stadium and Fairfield Stadium. Hoops Family Field at the new Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex, located on the site of the Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse, opened in August 2013. The Chris Cline Athletic Complex, a $25 million indoor football practice facility, track, and physical therapy research center which opened in September 2014, sits on the former Sam Hood Field site.

Marshall University is a public research university in Huntington, West Virginia. It was founded in 1837 and is named after John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The university is currently composed of nine colleges: Lewis College of Business (LCOB), College of Education and Professional Development (COE), College of Arts and Media (COAM), College of Health Professions (COHP), Honors College, College of Engineering and Computer Sciences (CECS), College of Liberal Arts (COLA), College of Science (COS), and University College; and two schools – School of Pharmacy, and the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine; and a regional center for cancer research. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

Mountwest Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public community college in Huntington, West Virginia. It is part of the West Virginia Community and Technical College System. The college offers associate degree programs including several career courses in maritime through its Inland Waterways Academy.The institution evolved from community college programs of Marshall University. In 2008, the state decided that community colleges and state colleges should be separated into different institutions, and the constituent college was "divorced" from the university. Under an agreement between the two schools, MCTC was permitted to use its original Marshall Community and Technical College name until 2011, at which time it had to adopt a new name that does not use the Marshall trademark. The new Mountwest name was announced in November 2009.In 2012, the school stopped leasing space at Marshall and purchased a former office building from Ashland Incorporated.

Jack Cook Field is a baseball stadium in Huntington, West Virginia. It is the current home field for Marshall University's baseball team and the future home field for the Tri-State Coal Cats in the Appalachian League. The field is named after former longtime Marshall head baseball coach, Jack Cook.

Joan C. Edwards Stadium, formerly Marshall University Stadium, is a football stadium located on the campus of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, United States. It currently can hold 30,475 spectators and includes twenty deluxe, indoor suites, 300 wheelchair-accessible seating, a state-of-the-art press-box, 14 concession areas, and 16 separate restrooms. It also features 90,000 sq ft (8,000 m2) of artificial turf and 1,837 tons of structural steel. It also houses the Shewey Athletic Center (Marshall University), a fieldhouse and a training facility. The new stadium opened in 1991 and replaced Fairfield Stadium, a condemned off-campus facility built in 1927 in the Fairfield Park neighborhood. Marshall has a 176-39 overall record at Joan C. Edwards Stadium for a winning percentage of .819, one of the top home winning percentages in the nation.
