Southwest Center City (SWCC), also known as Graduate Hospital, is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia bordering Center City Philadelphia. The neighborhood is bordered on the north by South Street, on the south by Washington Avenue, on the west by the Schuylkill River, and on the east by Broad Street. It is an area adjacent to the Fitler Square and Rittenhouse Square neighborhoods to the north and Point Breeze to the south. It is home to several community service organizations, restaurants, many churches, a few retail establishments, and some light industry.

The Philadelphia Free School also known as Philly Free School or PFS, is a Democratic Free School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly Free School operates on the democratic education or Sudbury school model. The school opened in the fall of 2011 and offers a sliding scale tuition to students ages 4 to 19.Philadelphia Free School emphasizes critical thinking, personal responsibility, and democratic governance, rather than standardization and hierarchy.

Penn Medicine Rittenhouse is a rehabilitation and long-term acute-care facility in the Southwest Center City neighborhood of Philadelphia founded in 2007. The current facility is owned by the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) and operated by Good Shepherd Penn Partners.The space was formerly occupied by the Graduate Hospital, which opened in 1916, though medical care originally began on the site in 1889 under the name Philadelphia Polyclinic.

Southwest Schuylkill is a neighborhood in Southwest Philadelphia, along the Schuylkill River north of Elmwood, in the vicinity of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's R3 railroad tracks.The Regent-Rennoc Court and Anna Howard Shaw Junior High School are listed to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Ringgold Place is a set of 26 historic rowhouses located in the Rittenhouse Square West neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were built about 1862, and their scale reflects the material shortages during the American Civil War. The three-story brick residences measure 14 feet by 20 feet, with spartan facades and interiors, over a raised basement. The properties were acquired in 1925, by noted Philadelphia architect George Howe (1886–1955). His office was located at 1900 Ringgold Place and he owned the houses until 1934. He or Tilden, Register & Pepper, a firm he employed, modernized the dwellings and introduced some decorative elements to the 19th Street facades.The houses were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Christian Street Historic District is an historic district located along Christian Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.: 5  It is also known as Black Doctors' Row.: 221  The narrow district extends approximately six city blocks, from the 1400 block of Christian Street to the intersection of Christian Street with 20th Street. Its width is one block on either side of Christian Street, extending to Montrose Street and Webster Street. It is within the area known as South Philadelphia and the neighborhood known as Graduate Hospital.As of 2021, the district included approximately 192 buildings, some of which themselves have historical significance. The district was originally proposed for permanent preservation in 2021.The Christian Street Historic District was at its heyday in the early 20th century when it was a center for homes, businesses, and cultural institutions of African-Americans, with many of its black residents among the city's most prominent. The district was at that time termed "Main Street for Philadelphia's Black Elite."The neighborhood was officially designated as an historic district by unanimous vote of the Philadelphia City Council in July 2022.

The Amalgamated Center, also known as the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Office Building, was built by the Bethany Brotherhood, which was funded by John Wanamaker, in 1900, in Philadelphia. The building was added to in 1912, and served as a working class social club and community center. In 1934 the building was sold to the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America labor union which expanded the building in 1937 and 1967. During the 1980s the building was made into doctors' offices and a day care center.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Edwin M. Stanton School is an historic K-8 school located in the Southwest Center City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, within the Christian Street Historic District. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy, also known as the Medical Services Building, is a historic school building located in the Rittenhouse Square West neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a three-story, five-bay, "U"-shaped brown brick building in the Art Deco style. It was built in 1930 as a two-story building; a third story was added in 1939. The front facade features sculptural iron panels, sandstone carvings, and two-story brick pilasters with decorative caps. The Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy occupied the building into the late-1950s, after which it housed medical offices associated with the University of Pennsylvania. It has been converted to apartments. Notable alumni of the school included Kamala Nimbkar and Muriel Zimmerman. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Gallery 339 was a photographic art gallery located in Philadelphia, United States. The gallery promoted the work of distinguished and emerging photographers from around the world. The gallery's focus was thoughtful, carefully made work, extending across the spectrum of contemporary photography from antique processes used to explore current issues, to digital processes used to consider timeless questions in art. Through a regular program of exhibitions, the gallery was dedicated to broadening an appreciation for the depth, sophistication, and insight which can be found in contemporary photographic art.Gallery 339 opened in May 2005 and presented several exhibitions featuring work from the USA, Japan, South Korea, and Great Britain. Gallery 339 was Philadelphia’s only fine art photography gallery.Gallery 339 closed in 2017.

The Edward Drinker Cope House is a historic house located at 2100–2102 Pine Street in Center City Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built in 1880, it was a longtime home of Edward Drinker Cope (1840–1897), a prolific geologist and paleontologist and noted herpetologist who was one of the leading natural scientists of the 19th century United States. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1975.

The Rosenbach is a Philadelphia museum and library located within two 19th-century townhouses. The historic houses contain the collections and treasures of Philip Rosenbach and his younger brother Dr. A. S. W. Rosenbach. The brothers owned the Rosenbach Company, which became the preeminent dealer of rare books, manuscripts and decorative arts during the first half of the 20th century. Dr. Rosenbach in particular was seminal in the rare book world, helping to build libraries such as the Widener Library at Harvard, The Huntington Library and the Folger Shakespeare Library. In 2013, the Rosenbach became a subsidiary of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, but maintains its own board and operates independently of the public library system.
