Gillespie Field

ASTREA is an acronym for Aerial Support To Regional Enforcement Agencies, the air support unit of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. ASTREA Base is located at Gillespie Field Airport (IATA: SEE, ICAO: KSEE) in El Cajon, California.

Gillespie Field station is a Green Line station of the San Diego Trolley in the San Diego suburb of Santee, California. It is located across Marshall Avenue from Gillespie Field, a county airport which also contains an annex of the San Diego Air & Space Museum. It was ranked worst rail station in California in a 2015 UC Berkeley School of Law study, due to its sparse, unwalkable location and lack of ridership. Study co-author Elkind was quoted in the press, “I almost wondered if there was really a station out there or if we got the GPS wrong. It looked like cow pastures.”

ATA College, formerly known as Advanced Training Associates, is a private college in El Cajon, California. ATA College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and approved by the Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Education. The institute is also approved to participate in Federal financial aid programs by the Department of Education for students who qualify. The school provides training to the military and has been a Department of Defense contractor for vocational education since 1996. Tuition Assistance and Veterans Benefits can be used at ATA College. The institute is an approved training center by the Fiber Optic Association.ATA College is an official testing site for Pearson VUE and the Electronics Technicians Association. The school is also certified by the National Radio Examiners to administer FCC licensing exams, and the ATA College instructors are official test proctors.

Chaparral High School is the main continuation high school located in El Cajon, California for the Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD). Currently GUHSD serves 24,456 students at 12 high schools. Located in the city of El Cajon, it provides an alternative educational setting for an average of 300 students, eighty of which are designated Special Education, in grades nine through twelve. Students at Chaparral are referred by the eleven comprehensive high schools in the District for reasons involving poor attendance, lack of academic success or behavioral issues. In addition, students may voluntarily elect to attend Chaparral. The student population changes as students are returned to their school of residence upon completion of their remediation and/or academic goals. Chaparral offers programs and services to supplement the basic education program. Some of these services include an incoming orientation, Special Education Program, extended day tutorials and Title I support. Chaparral High School teaches programs such as Anger Management, and many other programs that students can use to fit into their daily lifestyles.

Bostonia is a neighborhood in San Diego County, California, comprising part of the northeastern portion of the city of El Cajon, as well as adjacent unincorporated areas of San Diego County. The portion of Bostonia that lies outside the El Cajon city limits is classified as a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes by the United States Census Bureau. The population of the CDP was 15,379 at the 2010 census, up from 15,169 at the 2000 census.

San Diego Christian College (SDCC) is a private, evangelical college in Santee, California, a suburb of San Diego. Founded in 1970, SDCC offers traditional, non-traditional, and graduate programs.

Edgemoor Farm Dairy Farm was built as part of a dairy farm in 1913 in Santee, California. Edgemoor was part of a Spanish land grant to Maria Antonio Estudillo who married Miguel de Pedrorena, a native of Madrid. By the 1850s, through a variety of ways, individuals obtained portions of the grant and began to farm. Walter Hamlin Dupee purchased Edgemoor Farm in 1913 and built it into a national award-winning dairy farm, polo pony ranch and early tourist attraction. Such was his prominence that the Guernsey Breeders Association in 1921 called his place "the foremost authority and breeder in the U.S.", having given the most grand champions at this ranch founded by John and Walter Dupee. Dupee said, "I am interested in pure breeding stock, modern equipment, and scientific methods, which I place at the disposal of all dairymen". A series of personal setbacks and problems brought Dupee to sell Edgemoor to Godfrey L. Strobeck.

Santee Town Center station is a station on the Green Line of the San Diego Trolley, in the San Diego suburb of Santee, California. The station currently serves as the Green Line's northeastern terminus and serves as a major park and ride station. It is located inside a shopping center on the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and Cuyamaca Street.

Arnele Avenue station is a San Diego Trolley station served by the Orange and Green Lines in the San Diego suburb of El Cajon, California. It serves as the eastern terminus of the Orange Line. The station also has as a small park and ride that serves the surrounding residential community and also allows for access to a large commercial strip. Parkway Plaza, a major shopping mall, is within walking distance of the station.

Rancho El Cajón was a 48,800-acre (197 km2) Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1845 by Governor Pio Pico to María Antonia Estudillo de Pedrorena. The name means "the box" in Spanish, and refers to the valley between hills. The grant encompassed present day El Cajon, Bostonia, Santee, Lakeside, Flinn Springs, and the eastern part of La Mesa. The grant contained the 28-acre (0.11 km2) Rancho Cañada de los Coches grant.

The Museum of Creation and Earth History is a young earth creationist promotional facility opened by the Institute for Creation Research at its original headquarters in Santee, California in 1992, replacing an earlier museum located in the institute's basement. It cost $50,000, and took 2 years to complete.After the Institute for Creation Research moved from Santee to Dallas, Texas in 2008, it sold the Museum to the Life and Light Foundation, a non-profit ministry run by Tom Cantor.The exhibits claim to prove that the Earth is no older than about 10,000 years, and suggest that man and dinosaurs coexisted before Noah's flood, which also created the Grand Canyon. Also featured are an interpreted walk through the Garden of Eden with a literal depiction of the six days in the Genesis, a dark room with pictures of the planets and stars, scale models of Noah's Ark and the Tower of Babel, an Ice Age room, the Canyon Wall, describing how the Grand Canyon was formed in a matter of weeks or months, rather than the millions of years posited by most geologists, and the Hall of Scholars with pictures and biographies of scientists who believed in creationism rather than accepting evolution. It also has a display about the ICR's RATE project, an effort, in conjunction with other young Earth creationist organizations, to find evidence of a young earth. In 2013 the Museum was denied accreditation by the San Diego Museum Council.
