ReAnimator Coffee is a Philadelphia-based coffee roaster and cafe chain. The company operates five cafes, in Fishtown, Kensington, South Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and Port Richmond. and its roasting facilities are located in Kensington. The Kensington location opened in 2014. The owners also operate Philadelphia restaurant Res Ipsa and donut shop Hello Donuts, both of which serve ReAnimator Coffee. ReAnimator Coffee is a part of the third wave of coffee.

Kensington District, or The Kensington District of the Northern Liberties, was one of the twenty-nine municipalities that formed Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, United States prior to the enactment of the Act of Consolidation, 1854, when it became incorporated into the newly expanded City of Philadelphia. The district was roughly bounded by Lehigh Avenue to the north; Germantown Avenue and 6th Street to the west; Cohocksink Creek to the south; and an L-shaped line formed by Frankford Avenue, Norris Street, and York Street at its northeast. The Delaware River was the eastern boundary. Today the area would include the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Olde Kensington, West Kensington and Fishtown, as well as portions of the neighborhoods of Ludlow, Hartranft, Fairhill, Northern Liberties and the current Kensington. The District of Kensington was a self-governing district between the years 1820 and 1854.

Olde Richmond is a neighborhood in the River Wards section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United Sttes. It is notable for its historically large Polish immigrant, Polish American community, and Irish American community. The U.S. ZIP Code for Olde Richmond is 19125 and its post office is located at 1602 Frankford Avenue (in Fishtown). The neighborhood is bounded by East Lehigh Avenue to the northeast, the Delaware River to the east, Trenton Avenue to the northwest and York Street to the southwest. Some consider Frankford Avenue to be the northwestern boundary of the neighborhood, however general consensus among residents is that those who live northwest of Trenton Avenue live in Kensington. Some area residents refer to a small section or portion of Olde Richmond as "Cione", which refers to the Cione Playground and Recreation Center, which is located at 2600 Aramingo Avenue. Other sections of the neighborhood have been referred to as “Flatiron”, the section west of Aramingo Ave. named after a triangular or flatiron-shaped lot formed by the intersections of Cumberland Ave, Almond St, and Moyer St, and “Richmond”, the section east of Aramingo Ave. extending to the Delaware River. The neighborhood has also been known to Catholic residents as “Saint Anne’s”, referencing St. Anne Catholic Church and the Catholic Parish system. Adjacent neighborhoods are Port Richmond to the northeast, Kensington to the northwest, and Fishtown to the south/southwest.

Saint Laurentius Parish (Polish: Parafia św. Wawrzyńca) was a Roman Catholic parish established in 1882 that largely serves people of Polish background in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the oldest Polish Roman Catholic Church within the city and Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The church building was closed at the end of March 2014 due to structural issues, and all religious functions were relocated to Holy Name of Jesus Church, 2 blocks away. St. Laurentius Catholic School, while merging with Holy Name of Jesus Parish School, remains open. Plans for demolition of the church were solidified when the City of Philadelphia granted a permit for the demolition on September 30, 2021. Demolition begun by starting to take down the western steeple in August 2022.

The Church of the Good Shepherd, Kensington, was an Episcopal congregation in Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1868, it merged with Emmanuel Church, Kensington, in 1994 to form the Church of Emmanuel and the Good Shepherd. Its 1887 building, designed by architect T. Frank Miller and located at 2121-2127 East Cumberland Street, was demolished in 2016. The Church of the Good Shepherd, Kensington, was an among the few surviving reminders of the mid to late 19th century English immigrant experience and community in Kensington and Philadelphia. Movement has been made to celebrate the colonial experience (i.e. Penn Treaty Park) and preserve the 19th century "new immigrant" experience (i.e. St. Laurentius Church, in Fishtown) in the greater Kensington area. Scholars often refer to this immigrant group as hidden and forgotten. These immigrants, to outsiders, blended in and disappeared. However, as the property demonstrates, mid to late 19th century English immigrants, far from being hidden, built unique neighborhoods, cultural institutions, and worship sites.

Palmer Cemetery, originally known as the Kensington Burial Grounds, was established around 1732 in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia.The cemetery holds the remains of many of the original families of Kensington such as the Cramp and Shibe Families. There are veterans of every war buried here, beginning with the American Revolutionary War. There are markers for veterans of the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The cemetery is also home to one of the first memorials to local World War I Veterans (1921). The exact number of burials is unknown, but it is estimated that 40,000 to 50,000 people are buried in Palmer Cemetery. The cemetery is maintained by volunteer trustees who oversee its operation and preservation. Palmer Cemetery is a 501c3 Non profit. All donation are used for the care and preservation of the historic grounds.

Penn Treaty School is a grade 6-12 school in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A part of the School District of Philadelphia, it was formerly Penn Treaty Junior High School and Penn Treaty Middle School.

The 26th District Police and Patrol Station is a historic police station in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by architect John T. Windrim (1866-1934) and built in 1896. It and is a three-story, "L"-plan, brownstone and brick building in the Renaissance style. It features a monumental arched entrance with terra cotta decorative elements, curved corner, copper entablature, wide frieze, and pitched roof. It housed a police station until 1969.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It currently (Sep 2017) houses a branch of The Philadelphia Federal Credit Union.

Philadelphia Temple of Hemp and Cannabis (also called Philly THC) is a church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The church interior features Rastafarian images, including a mural of Haile Selassie.It may be the first space for public consumption of cannabis in America east of the Missisippi River, following "a handful" in Denver and San Francisco around 2019. It may circumvent the state's laws against public smoking by offering "ceramic-tipped electronic devices" for consumption via dry herb vaporizer on premises.The venue has held other public events such as a public reading of Cannabis: The Illegalization of Weed in America by its author, Box Brown.

Kensington High School is an historic American high school that is located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 as the Kensington High School for Girls.

The Church of the Messiah, Richmond, was an Episcopal congregation in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1846, it merged with St. Matthew's Mission, Oxford Circle, 1929 to form Church of the Messiah, Oxford Circle. Its 1848 Gothic Revival building, designed by architect John Notman and located at 2640-2658 East Huntington Street, was demolished in 2016.

The George Chandler School is an historic school building which is located in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
