Lake Ariel is a village in Lake and Salem Townships of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located in northeastern Pennsylvania, Lake Ariel was founded by settlers with the name of Jones, and was previously known as Jonestown. Following a name change, Lake Ariel became home to Lake Ariel Park, a major tourist destination for Pennsylvanians in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Hamlin is a village in Salem Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. Hamlin is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 191/Pennsylvania Route 196 and Pennsylvania Route 590.

Varden Conservation Area is a Pennsylvania state park on 343 acres (139 ha) in Lake and South Canaan Townships, Wayne County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The conservation area is currently under development. The land was donated to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in December 2001 by Dr. Mead Shaffer a veterinarian and resident of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania in Delaware County. Dr. Shaffer stated his reason for donating the land, "Environmental education always has been a primary concern of mine. I trust this land will allow present and future generations to observe and study the diverse ecology found in the Varden Conservation Area." Varden Conservation Area is near the unincorporated village of Varden on Pennsylvania Route 296, east of the Lackawanna County line.A conservation area is different from a typical state park. Conservation areas have much less development on the lands than a state park. They are large tracts of land with few improvements, a lack of through roads and the recreational facilities are minimal. There is an effort to manage the resources with minimal development of the park. Other conservation areas in Pennsylvania are the Joseph E. Ibberson Conservation Area and the Boyd Big Tree Preserve Conservation Area both of which are in Dauphin County.

Northeastern Pennsylvania (N.E.P.A. or sometimes called Nepa) is a region of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania that includes the Pocono Mountains, the Endless Mountains, and the industrial cities of Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, Hazleton, Nanticoke, and Carbondale. A portion of this region is located in the New York City metropolitan area. Recently, Pennsylvania tourism boards have described Northeastern Pennsylvania as Upstate Pennsylvania. Unlike most parts of the Rust Belt, some of these communities are experiencing a modest population increase, and others, including Monroe and Pike counties, rank among the state's fastest growing counties. Northeastern Pennsylvania borders the Lehigh Valley to its south, Warren County, New Jersey to its east, and Broome County, New York to its north.

WFTE (90.3 FM) was a radio station licensed to serve Mount Cobb, Pennsylvania, and (105.7 FM) Scranton, Pennsylvania The station's licensee was Community Radio Collective, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. WFTE Community Radio aired live on the air in 2011. With translator W289AU on 105.7 FM, WFTE Community Radio broadcast to around 500,000 residents in the greater Scranton, Pennsylvania area. WFTE's license was cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission on June 27, 2018, due to the station having been silent since September 27, 2016.

Lakeville is a village in Paupack Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located along the western shores of Lake Wallenpaupack and can be accessed by Pennsylvania Route 590, about eight miles east of Hamlin, and approximately seven miles west of Hawley, both on Route 590. The city of Scranton is located about 17 miles west.

Lake Lacawac is located at the very middle of Lacawac's Sanctuary Field Station in Pennsylvania and has been deemed the "southernmost unpolluted glacial lake in North America." Lake Lacawac has proven to be invaluable to researchers and students to conduct field experiments in order to learn more about the limnology of the lake. This lake is one of the last few lakes that does not have an excessive amount of watershed disturbance or residential disturbance. This makes it a good candidate for research because there is minimal human disturbance and there are not a lot of natural disturbances that change its different characteristics.

Lacawac is a historic estate located in Paupack Township and Salem Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Saint Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary (Russian: Свято-Тихоновская духовная семинария) is an Orthodox Christian seminary located in South Canaan Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania. It is one of three seminaries operated by the Orthodox Church in America, the others being St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, Yonkers, New York, and St. Herman's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kodiak, Alaska. It is named after Tikhon of Zadonsk.
