Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (SIVA) (上海视觉艺术学院) is a public university in Songjiang District of Shanghai, China. SIVA was established in September 2005 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The school was founded as an art and design school with the efforts by Fudan University, Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group, Wenhui-Xinmin United Press Group, Shanghai Jingwen Investment Ltd., Shanghai Jingwen Properties Group, Shanghai Shenjiao Investment Co., Shanghai World Expo Group, Shanghai Cred Real Estate Stock Co., Emperor Entertainment Group Ltd, The 9 Ltd and Shanda Internet Development. The school had been loosely affiliated with Fudan University; in 2013, the school became a completely independent institute, and is no longer affiliated with Fudan University.

Songjiang University Town or Songjiang University City (Chinese: 松江大学城; pinyin: Sōngjiāng Dàxuéchéng) is a tertiary education hub located in the outskirts of Shanghai in Songjiang District. The university town was established in 2000 and had its foundations built in 2005. It has an area of 8000 mu (approx. 533 hectares). The university town area is the biggest tertiary education hubs in mainland China, including 7 higher education institutions.

Thames Town (simplified Chinese: 泰晤士小镇; traditional Chinese: 泰晤士小鎮; pinyin: Tàiwùshì Xiǎozhèn) is a new town in Songjiang District, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from central Shanghai. Completed in 2006, it is named after the River Thames, which flows through London, United Kingdom. The architecture is themed according to British market town styles. There are cobbled streets, Victorian terraces, corner shops and red telephone boxes. High house prices led to few permanent residents moving to the area, causing many of the shops and restaurants to close and the area to become known as a "ghost town".

Sheshan, known in Shanghainese as Zose, is a pair of hills in Songjiang District in western Shanghai, China. The two hills are distinguished as East and West Sheshan, although the more important western hill is also called Sheshan on its own. East Sheshan has an elevation of 100.8 m (331 ft) and West Sheshan has an elevation of 118 m (387 ft), it is the highest point in Shanghai, there is a small valley between them. The area around the two hills is a forest park.

The Sheshan Observatory (Chinese: 佘山天文台; pinyin: Shéshān tiānwéntái) is an observatory on Sheshan Hill in Shanghai.

The Basilica of Holy Mary, the Help of Christians (Latin: Basilicæ de Nostra Domina Mariæ Auxiliatricis Christianorum) also known as the National Shrine of Our Mother of Sheshan (Chinese: 佘山進敎之佑聖母大殿; pinyin: Shéshān jìnjiào zhī yòu shèngmǔ dàdiàn) is a Roman Catholic Marian shrine in Shanghai, China. Its name comes from the locality of Sheshan Hill in Songjiang District, to the west of Shanghai's metropolitan area. Pope Pius XII raised the Marian shrine to the status of Minor Basilica via his Pontifical decree Compertum Habemus on 12 September 1942. The shrine was previously romanized as Zosé Basilica (pronounced "Zoh-seh"), using the Shanghainese pronunciation of "佘山" (Sheshan). A venerated statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Mary Help of Christians is enshrined within as the patroness of the basilica, along with the recently reconstructed icon of Our Mother of Sheshan, both venerated by Chinese Catholics.

Songjiang University Town (simplified Chinese: 松江大学城; traditional Chinese: 松江大學城; pinyin: Sōngjiāng Dàxuéchéng) is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 9. It began operation on 29 December 2007. This station is situated in Songjiang University Town.

Dongjing (simplified Chinese: 洞泾; traditional Chinese: 洞涇; pinyin: Dòngjīng) is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 9. It is located in Dongjing Town, in Songjiang District. The station began operations on December 29, 2007, as part of the initial phase of Line 9's development, which aimed to improve connectivity between the suburbs and central Shanghai. Dongjing Station primarily serves the suburban areas surrounding Songjiang and provides a crucial link between residential neighborhoods and the broader Shanghai Metro network.

Happy Valley Shanghai (Chinese: 上海欢乐谷; pinyin: Shànghǎi Huānlè Gǔ) is an amusement park in Shanghai, China. The park is located in Songjiang District, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) from downtown Shanghai. It covers an area of 863,500 square metres (213.4 acres). Opened on August 16, 2009, it is the fourth installation of the Happy Valley theme park chain.

Wooden Coaster - Fireball (Chinese: 谷木游龙) is a wooden roller coaster located at Happy Valley in Songjiang, Shanghai, China. The coaster was designed by American wooden coaster designers The Gravity Group and manufactured by Martin & Vleminckx. It opened on August 16, 2009 as China's first wooden roller coaster.
