Mornington (Irish: Baile Uí Mhornáin, meaning 'town of the mariner') is a coastal village on the estuary of the River Boyne in County Meath, Ireland approximately 5 km downriver from the centre of Drogheda. Together with the neighbouring villages of Laytown, Bettystown and Donacarney, it comprises the urban area of Laytown–Bettystown–Mornington–Donacarney with a combined population of 15,642 at the 2022 census.The large townland of 1,223 acres (4.95 km2) is bound on the north by the River Boyne estuary and on the east by the Irish Sea. The townland extends along the seashore to Bettystown village and includes part of that village up to and including The Neptune Hotel. The townland, part of the civil parish of Colpe, touches on other townlands: Betaghstown to the south, Colp East and Colp West to the west and Donacarney Great and Donacarney Little to the south and west. Stameen lies to the west. Baltray, Beaulieu and Banktown lie across the Boyne. Mornington can also refer to a larger area, a half-parish, within the Laytown-Mornington Roman Catholic parish established in 1986, and formerly part of the parish of St. Mary's in Drogheda. Mornington was also a former post office sub-district and used by a wider area for address purposes up to the 1980s.

St Fechin's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is located in the seaside village of Termonfeckin, part of Beaulieu parish.Former Louth county footballer Fr Shane Cullen helped found the club in 1941.Paddy McGlew, who played football with the club, was Chairman of Louth GAA from 1988 to 1991.In the late 1990s St Fechin's purchased a 27-acre site at Beaulieu, which would become their new home. The official opening was performed by then GAA president Seán Kelly in August 2003.Clogherhead club Dreadnots are local rivals.

Donacarney (Irish: Domhnach Cearnaigh or Domhnach Cairnigh) is a village in County Meath, Ireland, close to Drogheda and the border with County Louth. It contains one church, two estates, two schools, and one pub. Although it includes the townlands of Donacarney Great and Donacarney Little, most locals would never use those terms in describing Donacarney. The remains of a late-medieval tower house (see picture to right) are sited close to Donacarney Cross. It is described in the Down Survey (1654–56) as "an ould Castle". It appears in this state on a map of 1771. Blackhills Crescent, Donacarney, takes its name from the area known as the Black Hills or Black Hill Lands north of the crossroads and the castle, the old name of which was Croc a' Searra in Irish. Together with the neighbouring villages of Laytown, Bettystown and Mornington, it comprises the urban area of Laytown–Bettystown–Mornington–Donacarney with a combined population of 15,642 at the 2022 census.

Baltray (historically Ballytra, from Irish: Baile Trá, meaning 'town of the beach') is a village and townland in County Louth, Ireland. It sits on the northern shore of the River Boyne estuary.

Newtown Blues are a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. They are the most successful club in Louth GAA and hold the record for the most Louth Senior Football Championships won in Gaelic football history. The club won their last such title in the 2019 Louth Senior Football Championship.The club, which was founded on 12 July 1887, has its home ground on the Newfoundwell road, beside the local secondary school. The club's colours are sky blue and white. In 1962 Newtown Blues won all three Senior club competitions (Old Gaels Cup, Cardinal O'Donnell Cup and Senior Championship) and went on to repeat this feat in 1963 and 1986.

County Louth Golf Club is a links golf course located in the village of Baltray, County Louth in Ireland. It is situated approximately 4 miles from the town of Drogheda. The Irish Open professional golf tournament which is part of the PGA European Tour has been held there on two occasions, in 2004 and 2009.The current course was designed in 1938 by Tom Simpson and is laid out over 190 acres (77 ha) of land. The 18-hole course par score is 72 with a course length of 7031 yards.

Termonfeckin or Termonfechin (Irish: Tearmann Feichín, meaning 'Féchín's church land') is a small village and townland in County Louth, Ireland. It is within the parish of the same name, and lies repeatedly 8 km (5.0 mi) north-east of Drogheda. The population of the village almost quadrupled in the period between the 1996 and 2022 census, growing from 530 to 1,983 inhabitants.
