Perumpadappu, Ernakulam

Palluruthy (Malayalam: പള്ളുരുത്തി) is a region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Palluruthy is part a of the water bound West Kochi, lying westward to the Kochi mainland. Palluruthy comprises the regions Thoppumpady, Perumpadappu, Edakochi, Mundamveli and Kumbalanghi. The place is famous for its temples landscapes, backwaters and lotus pond. A historical trade fair called Pulavanibham is held every year at Palluruthy during the Malayalam month Dhanu.

Edakochi is one of the oldest districts in southern Kochi (or Cochin), India. It borders Palluruthy to the northwest and is separated from Aroor to the south and Kumbalam, Ernakulam to the east by the Kerala backwaters.

St. Lawrence Church, Edacochin, is a church in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cochin in Kerala, India. Known for its Portuguese-influenced architecture, as well as for the tomb of Servant of God Lawrence Puliyanath, the church is a centre of Christian pilgrimage in Kochi.

Mangalavanam is an ecologically sensitive area situated at the centre of the Indian city of Kochi, covering about 2.74 hectares. It also houses a shallow tidal lake connected with Kochi backwaters by a canal. It is situated behind the Kerala High Court building. It is a nesting ground for a large variety of migratory birds and supports many types of mangroves. The Managalavanam is often regarded as the "green lung of Kochi", considering its role in keeping the city's air pollution under check. The area is a roosting place for many kinds of resident and migratory birds. Recently the high-rise buildings surrounding the area are curtailing the movement of birds in the sanctuary. The buildings close to the sanctuary interrupt proper orientation, take-off and landings of the birds. They also cause hurdles in the regular movements of the nesting birds in transporting nesting materials. It is also likely to hinder the movement of birds while bringing food materials to the chicks and fledglings. The administrative control of the sanctuary is with the Assistant Conservator of Forest and Wildlife Warden Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary of Nature Study Centre Kalady and then to the Range Officer Research Range Kodanad.

St. Louis Church (Saantiyago Church) is located in Mundamveli, Kochi in the Indian state of Kerala. It is 9 km from the Ernakulam Junction railway station. The church is believed to be 150 years old.

Kumbalangi is an island village in the outskirts of Kochi city in the state of Kerala, India. He completed his primary education from St Louis High School, which is an old famous aided school in Mundamveli situated in the campus of St Louis Church. Cathedral procedures are on its way in order to proclaim him as the "Saint". Mundamveli is home to an English-medium school, The Santa Maria E.M. School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, St. Anne's public School, St.Philipinery Convent school, and The Fr. Augustino Viccini Special School for hearing-impaired students Jishy Hospital, PMSC Bank, Home Stays, Textiles shops, Ice Cream Parlours, Cafeterias, St.Marys Bakery,shilpa bakery, Muscle Style Multi Gym, Computer Cafe, etc. are located nearby St. Louis Church.

Mattancherry BOT Bridge, also known as Thoppumpady Bridge is a bridge in Kochi, Kerala, India. It connects the Kochi's western mainland to Willingdon Island. The new bridge was constructed in 1998; succeeding the old bridge of the same name, which is now known as the Old Cochin Harbour Bridge, built in 1940. The old bridge, which is a landmark of Kochi is now preserved as a heritage monument and carries only two and three wheelers. The new Mattanchery bridge is the first Build-Operate-Transfer bridge in Kerala. It was built as a joint project of the Government of Kerala, the Greater Cochin Development Authority and Gammon India.
