Founded in 1981, the American Journalism Historians Association (AJHA) seeks to advance education and research in mass communication history. Through its annual meeting, regional conferences, committees, awards, speakers and publications, members work to raise historical standards and ensure that all scholars and students recognize the vast importance of media history and apply this knowledge to the advancement of society.

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA or UT Arlington) is a public research university in Arlington, Texas. The university was founded in 1895 and was in the Texas A&M University System for several decades until joining the University of Texas System in 1965. The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". The fall 2022 campus enrollment consisted of 40,990 students making it the second largest university in North Texas and fifth-largest in Texas. UT Arlington is the third-largest producer of college graduates in Texas and offers over 180 baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs.UT Arlington participates in 15 intercollegiate sports as a Division I member of the NCAA and Western Athletic Conference. UTA sports teams have been known as the Mavericks since 1971.

The College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Arlington is a professional school of design located in Arlington, Texas. In 2015, The University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Architecture and School of Urban and Public Affairs united to form the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA). The integration of the two schools strengthened the academic and research opportunities available for students and faculty at UTA and provides nationally ranked programs that are unique to the Dallas–Fort Worth region. UTA is the only university in the North Texas region to offer degree programs in architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning. CAPPA offers internationally recognized degrees in architecture, interior design and landscape architecture. Design Intelligence, a national evaluating service based in Washington, D.C., ranked the University’s landscape architecture program No. 13 in the nation for 2013.The college also hosts the Institute of Urban Studies, contributes to the Arlington Urban Design Center at Arlington City Hall and offers graduate degrees in city and regional planning, public administration, urban planning and public policy, and others. The Master of Public Administration was listed on U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 list of best public affairs programs.

The College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Arlington is a professional school of design located in Arlington, Texas.The School of Architecture's newest program is a graduate-level Certificate in Property Repositioning and Turnaround, added in 2009. The UT Arlington campus is ideally situated in the center of one of the region’s largest and most diverse urban areas known as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, creating an ideal laboratory environment where the concepts being discussed in the classroom take shape all around.

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) College of Engineering is a college of engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas. The engineering program was established in 1959 when Arlington State College was officially given the status of a senior college. The college currently offers 11 baccalaureate, 14 master's, and nine doctoral degrees. The College of Engineering celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2009 and is the third largest engineering program in Texas.

Nedderman Hall (abbreviated NH) is an academic engineering building located on the University of Texas at Arlington campus. The building houses the Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments, lecture halls, research labs, the offices of the Dean of the College of Engineering, and a Science and Engineering library. It is named after Wendell Nedderman, Ph.D., P.E., civil engineering professor emeritus as well as former UT Arlington Dean of Engineering (1959–1969) and President (1972–1992).

The UTA Tennis Center is the home of the University of Texas at Arlington men's and women's tennis teams. The facility is located near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Greek Row Drive on the UTA campus. Several apartment buildings, constructed by the university, surround the center.

College Park Center (CPC) is an indoor, multi-purpose arena on the University of Texas at Arlington campus in Arlington, Texas, United States. It seats up to 7,000 spectators. Its primary tenant is the Mavericks athletic department including the university's basketball and volleyball teams. A secondary tenant during the summer season is the WNBA's Dallas Wings. It also hosts graduation ceremonies for UT Arlington, other private trade schools, and area high schools, along with concerts and events. The arena is part of a 20-acre (8.1 ha) section of the campus known as the College Park District. Completed in 2012, the District includes a residence hall, student apartments, a welcome center, a credit union, a 4.62-acre (1.87 ha) park called The Green at College Park, restaurants, and three parking garages.

Marrow Bone Spring Archeological Site is located in Vandergriff Park in Arlington, Texas, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 21, 1978.

Arlington High School (AHS), located in Arlington, Texas, United States, is a secondary school serving grades 9-12. It is one of the six high schools comprising the Arlington Independent School District. AHS has approximately 2,700 students, and are residents of Arlington, Dalworthington Gardens, and Pantego. Arlington High School has been accepted as an International Baccalaureate World School.

Maverick Stadium is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose stadium on the western edge of University of Texas at Arlington campus. It hosts the university's track and field teams and is also leased by the Pantego Christian Academy for their football team. It usually serves as the site of 1–3 high school football playoff games every year. The stadium previously served as UTA's home football stadium until the university dropped its program after the final game of the 1985 season. The stadium can host football and soccer games, track and field meets, as well as many varied festivals and special events, including the annual Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Special Olympics and Bed Races, an annual UTA tradition in the fall.

Allan Saxe Field is the home of the UTA Mavericks softball team located in Arlington, Texas. As a result of a complete reconstruction in 2014–15, the stadium currently has a capacity of 622. Prior to the renovation, the softball facility had a seating capacity of 250. Adjacent to Clay Gould Ballpark, the stadium is located at the intersection of W. Park Row Drive and Fielder Road.
