Chesterfield, originally known as Recklesstown, is an unincorporated community located around the intersection of County Route 528 (Bordentown-Chesterfield Road, Chesterfield-Arneytown Road) and County Route 677 (Chesterfield-Georgetown Road) in Chesterfield Township of Burlington County, New Jersey.

The Chesterfield School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grades from Chesterfield Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 723 students and 67.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in seventh through twelfth grades attend the schools of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District, which also serves students from Mansfield Township, North Hanover Township and Springfield Township, along with children of United States Air Force personnel based at McGuire Air Force Base. The schools in the district (with 2020–21 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Northern Burlington County Regional Middle School with 743 students in grades 7 - 8 and Northern Burlington County Regional High School with 1,403 students in grades 9-12. Both schools are in the Columbus section of Mansfield Township. Using a formula that reflects the population and the value of the assessed property in each of the constituent municipalities, taxpayers in Chesterfield Township pay 21.6% of the district's tax levy, with the district's 2013-14 budget including $35.6 million in spending.

Chesterfield Township is a township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 9,422, an increase of 1,723 (+22.4%) from the 2010 census count of 7,699, which in turn reflected an increase of 1,744 (+29.3%) from the 5,955 counted in the 2000 census. The township, and all of Burlington County, is a part of the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden combined statistical area and the Delaware Valley.Chesterfield has permanently preserved more than 7,000 acres (2,800 ha) of farmland through state and county programs and a township-wide transfer of development credits program that directs future growth to a designated "receiving area" known as Old York Village, which is a neo-traditional, New Urbanism community built on 560 acres (230 ha) incorporating a variety of housing types, neighborhood commercial facilities, a new elementary school, civic uses, and active and passive open space areas with preserved agricultural land surrounding the planned village. Construction began in the early 2000s and a significant percentage of the community is now complete. As of 2023 the majority of the construction is complete including Old York Village's mixed used; commercial, retail and housing section. Old York Village was the winner of the American Planning Association's National Outstanding Planning Award in 2004.

Davisville is an unincorporated community located within Chesterfield Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The settlement, located at the intersection of County Route 528 and Chesterfield-Arneytown Road (CR 664), is in a rural area in the eastern portion of the township. It consists mainly of farmland with some houses dotting the few roads that pass through the area.

Crosswicks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located along the Crosswicks Creek in the northern part of Chesterfield Township in Burlington County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 08515. As of the 2000 United States census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 08515 was 290.

The Ellisdale Fossil Site is located near Ellisdale in the valley of the Crosswicks Creek, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The site has produced the largest and most diverse fauna of Late Cretaceous terrestrial animals from eastern North America, including the type specimens of the teiid lizard Prototeius stageri and the batrachosauroidid salamander Parrisia neocesariensis. The site occurs within the basal portion of the Marshalltown Formation, and dates from the Campanian Stage of the Late Cretaceous. The site is classified as a Konzentrat-Lagerstätten resulting from a prehistoric coastal storm.

Fernbrook Farms is a 230-acre (93 ha) working farm located along County Route 545 (Bordentown-Georgetown Road) in Chesterfield Township in Burlington County, New Jersey. Originally an 18th-century farm, it was briefly a stock breeding farm, known as the New Warlaby Stock Farm, in the 19th century. It now includes an inn, plant nursery, environmental education center, and community-supported agriculture. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 7, 2022, for its significance in architecture and landscape architecture.

The Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility is a detention facility, located on Ward Avenue in Chesterfield Township, New Jersey, United States. It is named for state corrections official Albert C. Wagner.

Georgetown is an unincorporated community located within Mansfield Township, Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was named for George Sykes, who served in the U.S. Congress.

Groveville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Hamilton Township, in Mercer County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 2,945. Before the 2010 Census, the area was part of the Yardville-Groville CDP.

Garden State Youth Correctional Facility is a New Jersey Department of Corrections state prison that houses young adult offenders ages 18-30, located in the Crosswicks section of Chesterfield Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The facility opened in 1968 and has a maximum capacity of 1511 inmates.

Bordentown Regional High School is a comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from five communities in northern Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Bordentown Regional School District. The high school serves Bordentown City, Bordentown Township (where the school is located), and Fieldsboro Borough. The New Hanover Township School District, consisting of New Hanover Township (non-military portions) and Wrightstown Borough, sends students to the Bordentown district on a tuition basis for grades 9-12 as part of a sending/receiving relationship.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 744 students and 55.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.3:1. There were 3 students (0.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
