Reddevitz Höft

The Having is an inlet in the northeast of the Rügischer Bodden, the northern half of the Bay of Greifswald, which cuts deeply into the peninsula of Mönchgut, the southeastern tip of the German island of Rügen. The inlet is about 5.7 kilometres long, 1.1 kilometres wide and has an area of 7.5 km². It opens towards the southwest onto the Rügische Bodden. The Having is up to eight metres deep. In the south the Having is bounded by the narrow, elongated peninsula of Reddevitzer Höft, in the north by the Granitz. In the north there are two narrow waterways to the lakes of Selliner See and Neuensiener See. The heights around the bay climb to over 30 metres. There are no settlements on the shores of the Having itself. The inlet is part of the Mönchgut Nature Reserve in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.

Hagensche Wiek is a cove in the east of the Rügischer Bodden that cuts deeply into the Mönchgut peninsula, the southeast tip of the German island of Rügen. It is about 5 kilometres long, 2.5 kilometres wide and opens towards the southwest onto the Rügischer Bodden, the northern half of the Bay of Greifswald. In the north, the Hagensche Wiek is bounded by the narrow, elongated peninsula of Reddevitzer Höft, in the south by the actual Mönchgut with the Zicker Hills (Zickersche Berge), up to 66 metres high. In the east the cove approaches within 1,000 metres of the Baltic Sea coast not far from the village of Lobbe in the municipality of Middelhagen. The municipalities of Gager and Middelhagen with their hamlets of Alt Reddevitz and Mariendorf lie on the Hagensche Wiek. In Gager is the only harbour on the bay, used by fishing and sports boats and protected by a mole. The cove is part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.

Lancken-Granitz is a municipality in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Near the villages of Lancken and Burtevitz are several megalith tombs from the Neolithic. The Lancken-Granitz dolmens are a group of seven megalith tombs in the Lancken-Granitz municipality on Rügen, northern Germany. Erected during the middle Neolithic, when they were used by the Funnelbeaker culture, at least some were in use until the early Bronze Age. Three of them are encircled by solitary rocks forming either rectangles or a stone circle, one has a solitary "guardian stone" on its eastern side. The dolmens were constructed from glacial erratic boulders and red sandstone. In part subdivided into up to four compartments as common for the region, one dolmen showed a subdivision into six such compartments, which is an unusually high number. When the tombs were archaeologically assessed in 1969, Stone and Bronze Age funerary goods were retrieved, including flint hatches, stone axes, amber pearls, bronze needles and necklaces as well as an abundance of arrowheads and pottery.

Gager is a village and a former municipality in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since January 2018, it is part of the new municipality Mönchgut. Besides Gager, the municipality also included the villages Groß Zicker and Groß Zicker Ausbau.

Mönchgut is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It was created with effect from 1 January 2018 by the merger of the former municipalities of Gager, Middelhagen and Thiessow. Its name derives from the Mönchgut peninsula.

The Goldbusch is a great dolmen (German: Großdolmen), a type prehistoric grave site, that lies between Altensien and Moritzdorf on the German Baltic Sea island of Rügen. The megalithic tomb with Sprockhoff No. 508 was built between 3500 and 2800 BC in the New Stone Age as a megalithic site of the Funnelbeaker culture (TBK). According to Ingrid Schmidt, "Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of New Stone Age communities. Their creation and function are features of social development".

The Rügen narrow-gauge railway (German: Rügensche Bäderbahn, formerly Rügensche Kleinbahn or RüKB) – nicknamed Rasender Roland ("Raging Roland") – is a steam-powered narrow-gauge railway that runs from Putbus by way of Binz, Sellin, and Baabe to Göhren on the island of Rügen off the Baltic Coast in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since 2008, it has been run by the Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn mbH. There is an interchange with the island's Deutsche Bahn mainline network via the Veolia-run OLA railways. The Rasender Roland is one of the island's tourist attractions. It serves several holiday destinations, mainly the bathing resorts in Rügen's southeast. The railway runs regularly along a stretch of 24 km (14.5 mi.) of track with historic steam locomotives and coaches, some of which are almost a hundred years old. Unlike the Deutsche Bahn national system which uses 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge, Rasender Roland uses the narrow gauge of 750 mm (2 ft 5+1⁄2 in). The maximum speed is 30 kilometres per hour (19 mph).

Middelhagen is a village and a former municipality in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since January 2018, it is part of the new municipality Mönchgut.

Granitz Hunting Lodge (German: Jagdschloss Granitz) is located on the German island of Rügen in the vicinity of the seaside resort of Binz. With over 200,000 visitors per year it is the most popular castle or schloss in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
