Derryneill (from Irish Doire Néill, meaning 'Niall's oak-wood') is a townland of 1,049 acres in County Down, Northern Ireland, near to Leitrim, County Down. It is situated in the civil parish of Drumgooland and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Lower Half. Derryneill is mainly made up of small rocky drumlins.

Ardaghy (from Irish Ard Eachaidh 'Eachaidh's height') is a rural townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has an area of 372.6 acres (1.51 km2). It is situated in the civil parish of Kilcoo and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Lower Half, located 3.5 miles west of Castlewellan.

Benraw (from Irish Beann Rátha, meaning 'peak of the ring-fort') is a townland of 860 acres in County Down, Northern Ireland, two miles north of Leitrim and six miles from Castlewellan. It is situated in the civil parish of Drumgooland and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Lower Half. It is set in the middle of the Dromara Hills and Slieve Croob. It has an average population of 50 people. It contains two roads: the Whitehill Road and the Benraw Road. It is in the middle of the townlands Leitrim, Legananny and Derryneill. It is a very mountainous area and the two main mountains in Benraw are Benraw Mountain and The Whitehill. Benraw is also close to Legananny Dolmen.

Dechomet or Deehommed (from Irish Deachoimheád, meaning 'Good view ') (formerly Lowtown) is a small settlement in Drumgooland, County Down, Northern Ireland. Dechomet is approximately 3 miles from Leitrim and approximately 6 miles from Castlewellan. In the 2001 census, Dechomet, Ballyward and Finnis had a combined population of 121.Dechomet contains a primary school, a hardware store, a bar and a Catholic church within the village center.

Leitrim (from Irish Liatroim 'grey ridge'), is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland, approximately 3 miles from Castlewellan, near Dromara, in the parish of Drumgooland. It is set between the Dromara Hills (Slieve Croob) and the Mourne Mountains. It is claimed to be home to the MacCartan clan of Kinelarty. Within the centre of Leitrim village there is a Catholic Church, a shop and a bar. Along the Backaderry road there is also a pre-school, an animal feed factory and the local Gaelic club. Leitrim’s Gaelic club (Liatroim Fontenoys GAC) is disputed to be the oldest in Down – being founded in 1888. Leitrim has developed friendly rivalrys with Kilcoo GAC and Castlewellan GAC. Most years Leitrim will hold a festival in and around the club grounds. Although there is only one village named Leitrim in south down, near Hilltown there is a small forest area and camping site named Leitrim lodge.

It is situated in the civil parish of Drumballyroney and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Lower Half, located 4 miles east of Rathfriland. It lies within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

Kilcoo Owen Roes (Irish: Eoghan Rúa Cill Chua) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Kilcoo, County Down, Northern Ireland. They are the most successful club in the Down Senior Football Championship having won it 21 times. The club has also won the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship twice and the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship once.

Lough Island Reavy is a small man-made lough in Kilcoo, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a fishing spot, which is controlled by the Kilcoo Angling Club. The lake contains pike and perch, as well as small numbers of wild brown trout and eels.

Legananny (believed to be from Irish Liagán Áine 'Áine's standing stone') is a townland 5.6 km (3.5 mi) north of Leitrim, Northern Ireland. It contains the ancient Legannany Dolmen which has stood for between 4000 and 4500 years. It is made up of three large stones standing upright with a very large stone sitting on top of them. It has been linked with the Irish goddess Áine. The townland borders four other townlands, these are: Benraw, Leitrim, Slievenaboley and Clanvaraghan. Legananny has a population of around 100 people, most of these being farmers and their families. Slieve Garran is the biggest hill in Legananny.

Legananny Dolmen is a megalithic dolmen or cromlech nine miles southeast of Banbridge and three miles north of Castlewellan, both in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is on the slopes of Slieve Croob near the village of Leitrim, in Drumgooland parish, nestled between the farmer's stone wall and a back road. It is a State Care Historic Monument sited in the townland of Legananny, in Banbridge District, at grid ref: J2887 4339.This tripod dolmen has a capstone over 3m long and 1.8m from the ground. It dates to the Neolithic period, making the monument approximately 5,000 years old. Such portal tombs were funerary sites for the disposal of the dead in Neolithic society. The heavy stones would have been dragged some distance before being set in place. The three supporting stones are unusually long and there are slight traces of a cairn which must have been far more extensive. Some urns were found underneath.The name Legananny is derived from Irish Liagán Áine 'Áine's standing stone'

Kilcoo (from Irish Cill Chua, meaning 'church of mourning' – from the legend that Saint Patrick's body stayed there while on its way to Downpatrick to be buried) is a small village and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies between Rathfriland and Castlewellan and is within the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area. The village is on the A25 Dublin Road 6 kilometres (4 mi) south-west of Castlewellan. Kilcoo had a population 1415 people in the 2001 Census.
