CLG Eoghan Rua Cúil Raithin is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Despite some of the club's catchment area being in County Antrim, the club is a member of the Derry GAA. Eoghan Rua currently cater for Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie, and Ladies' Gaelic football and also compete in Scór and Scór n nÓg. The club's name commemorates Eoghan Rua Ó Néill. In addition to drawing players from Coleraine, the club's catchment area includes Portstewart and Portrush. The club's grounds are on the main road between Coleraine and Portstewart and were completed in 2007. Underage teams up to U-12s play in North Derry league and championships; from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions. The club's biggest success was when they won the 2010 & 2018 Derry Senior Football Championship. In 2006 they won the Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship and the Derry Intermediate Football Championship for the first time.

The International North West 200 is a motorcycle road race first held in 1929 on a 8.970 mi (14.436 km) street circuit known as "the Triangle" between the towns of Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush in Causeway Coast and Glens. It is the largest annual sporting event in Northern Ireland, with the race weekend attracting over 150,000 visitors from all over the world. The course is one of the fastest in the world, with average speeds of 120 mph (190 km/h) and top speeds in excess of 200 mph (320 km/h). Originally intended to be held somewhere in the north west of Ireland and organised by the City of Derry & District Motor Club, the initial meeting was moved to the north coast but the name was never changed. Since 1964 the event has been organised by the Coleraine and District Motor Club. In 2010, the meeting featured daytime practice on the Thursday for the first time. During the 2011 on Saturday 21 May there were significant delays due to a hoax bomb alert. An extensive oil spill on the track then caused racing to be cancelled after the completion of only one race. In 2022 the event returned as the fonaCab & Nicholl Oils North West 200 after having been cancelled for the two previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 9 February 2023, an announcement was made by the Motorcycle Union of Ireland about the 2023 event. This followed a significant increase in the insurance premium required to cover the event and consequently placed the race schedule under threat of being cancelled. However, on 15 March 2023, the event organisers issued a statement that, following a sizeable donation by a prominent businessman and a revised insurance premium quote, the event would take place.

Portstewart (Irish: Port Stíobhaird) is a small town in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 8,003 people in the 2011 Census. It is a seaside resort neighbouring Portrush. Its harbour and scenic coastal paths form an Atlantic promenade leading to a two-miles beach (Portstewart Strand), popular with holidaymakers in summer and surfers year-round.

Portstewart Football Club is an intermediate, Northern Irish football club from Portstewart, County Londonderry. The club was founded in 1968 and currently plays in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. The club's main colours are sky blue and navy. Portstewart are nicknamed "The Seahawks". Portstewart Reserves play in the Coleraine and District Morning League. In 2019, Portstewart introduced an Under 20s team, to play in the Championship/PIL Development League.

Portstewart Town Hall is a municipal structure in The Crescent, Portstewart, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The structure, which has been closed to the public since December 2019, is a Grade B2 listed building.

Dhu Varren is a railway halt in the townland of Glenmanus at the western edge of Portrush in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is an unstaffed halt on the Coleraine-Portrush railway line, less than a mile from the terminus, with a single platform. It was opened on 10 February 1969 mainly to cater for travel to the station at Coleraine University.

Dominican College Portstewart is a grammar school in Portstewart, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is situated on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with views over Portstewart's promenade, the northern coastline of Northern Ireland and the County Donegal hills in the Republic of Ireland.

University is a halt serving the University of Ulster at Coleraine in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is within the townland of Ballysally in the north of Coleraine. It is a single line halt on the Coleraine-Portrush railway line with a single platform and shelter and is unstaffed. The halt is often extremely busy, given its proximity to the University. Portrush has a large number of students living in it and many of them use the train as transport. It is also used by many passengers to connect to the mainline station at Coleraine for onward journeys to Derry and Belfast.It was opened on 12 June 1968.

Ulster University (Irish: Ollscoil Uladh; Ulster Scots: Ulstèr Universitie or Ulstèr Varsitie), legally the University of Ulster, is a multi-campus public university located in Northern Ireland. It is often referred to informally and unofficially as Ulster, or by the abbreviation UU. It is the largest university in Northern Ireland and the second-largest university on the island of Ireland, after the federal National University of Ireland. Established in 1865 as Magee College, the college took its modern form in 1984 after the merger of the New University of Ulster established in 1968 and Ulster Polytechnic, incorporating its four Northern Irish campuses under the University of Ulster banner. The university incorporated its four campuses in 1984; located in Belfast, Coleraine, Derry (Magee College), and Jordanstown. The university has branch campuses in both London and Birmingham, and an extensive distance learning provision. The university rebranded as Ulster University from October 2014 and this included a revised visual identity, though its legal name remained unchanged. It has one of the highest further study and employment rates in the UK, with over 92% of graduates being in work or further study six months after graduation. The university is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, Universities Ireland and Universities UK.

The Ulster University at Coleraine (Irish: Ollscoil Uladh i gCúil Raithin) is a campus of Ulster University in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It houses the administrative headquarters of the university and is the most traditional in outlook, with a focus on science and the humanities. It was founded in 1968 as the New University of Ulster and was later known as the University of Ulster at Coleraine until October 2014 when it was rebranded with the rest of the university to be known as Ulster University at Coleraine. The Coleraine campus is situated on the banks of the River Bann in Coleraine with views to the Causeway Coast and the hills of County Donegal to the West.

The Riverside Theatre is located at the Coleraine campus of Ulster University in Northern Ireland. It was opened in 1976 and is the fifth-largest professional theatre in Northern Ireland. It is architecturally unique in Northern Ireland for its flexible staging facilities. The Riverside Theatre won a design award in the year of its completion, and another shortly after for its provision for disabled patrons. It is an established touring venue. It features productions from all over the UK, Europe and North America. The Riverside programme incorporates drama, contemporary dance, rock bands, ballet, opera, variety, children's shows, pantomime, music recitals and recordings for television and radio.
