St. Ignatius School is a Roman Catholic school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was opened on January 12, 1911, by the Parish of St. Ignatius. The school is located in the neighborhood of Rockwood in the River Heights area. The school and church share one city block, bounded by Corydon Avenue to the north, Jessie Avenue to the south, Stafford Street to the east and Harrow Street to the west. The school serves 240 co-ed students from Nursery to Grade 8. The school is the only Catholic school N-8 in Winnipeg that does not wear uniforms. An electrical fire on February 20, 2007, damaged the oldest remaining wing - originally built in 1956. These were rebuilt and classes resumed by the fall of 2007.

St. Mary's Academy is a private Catholic girls' school in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It was founded by the Grey Nuns in 1869 and became the oldest continually operating independent school in the province. In the late 1960s, the school became primarily focused on education of junior and senior high school girls. It is currently run by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school moved to its present location in 1903. At that time the school sat out on the prairie in an undeveloped area. However, within a few years, the quickly expanding Winnipeg had enveloped the school. St. Mary's Academy went through several expansions in the years that followed. Today the school has around 600 female students and roughly 50 faculty members.

Shaarey Zedek Synagogue ("Gates of Righteousness") is the oldest synagogue in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Formed in 1880, the congregation's first building was constructed by Philip Brown and several others in 1890. Architect Charles Henry Wheeler designed the original Synagogue on King Street (1889–90).The synagogue has been located at 561 Wellington Crescent off Academy Road, on the western bank of the Assiniboine River, since 1950.
