Sixth College is the sixth and second-newest college of the University of California, San Diego. It was established in September 2001. Sixth College's core writing program, Culture, Art and Technology (CAT), is a five-course sequence that integrates writing skills into multidisciplinary classes to examine the intersections of culture, art, and technology.

Sam and Rose Stein Institute for Research on Aging (Stein Institute for Research on Aging) is a non-profit, multidisciplinary research institute at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine located in La Jolla, California. Established in 1983, it researches healthy aging through the development and application of the latest advances in biomedical and behavioral sciences.Although understanding of aging has improved enormously during the last decades, most of the prior research focused on the negative sides of aging such as age-related disability, dementia, or depression (see: ageism). The more than 150 scientists at the Stein Institute are investigating predictors and associations of successful cognitive and emotional aging. Understanding these processes requires contributions from basic sciences like neurobiology and genetics, along with the input from clinical medicine and social sciences, such as medical anthropology.

The University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego or, colloquially, UCSD) is a public land-grant research university in San Diego, California. Established in 1960 near the pre-existing Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego is the southernmost of the ten campuses of the University of California, and offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, enrolling 33,343 undergraduate and 9,533 graduate students. UC San Diego Health, the region's only academic health system, provides patient care, conducts medical research and educates future health care professionals at the UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest, Jacobs Medical Center, Moores Cancer Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, Shiley Eye Institute, Institute for Genomic Medicine, Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion and various express care and urgent care clinics throughout San Diego.The university operates 19 organized research units (ORUs), including the Center for Energy Research, Qualcomm Institute, San Diego Supercomputer Center and the Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind, as well as eight School of Medicine research units, six research centers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and two multi-campus initiatives, including the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation. UC San Diego is also closely affiliated with several regional research centers, such as the Salk Institute, the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, and the Scripps Research Institute. It is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". According to the National Science Foundation, UC San Diego spent $1.354 billion on research and development in fiscal year 2019, ranking it 6th in the nation.UC San Diego is considered one of the country's Public Ivies. As of February 2021, UC San Diego faculty, dozens of researchers and alumni have won Nobel Prizes, the second most of any UC campus, as well as three Fields Medals, eight National Medals of Science, eight MacArthur Fellowships, and three Pulitzer Prizes. Additionally, of the current faculty, 29 have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, 70 to the National Academy of Sciences, 45 to the Institute of Medicine and 110 to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The Center for Academic Research and Training in Anthropogeny (CARTA) is a center at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego). Formally established in 2008, CARTA is a collaboration between faculty members of UC San Diego main campus, the UCSD School of Medicine, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, and interested scientists at other institutions from around the world. CARTA was formed in order to promote transdisciplinary research into anthropogeny - the study of human origins - drawing on methods from a number of traditional disciplines spanning the humanities, social, biomedical, biological, computational & engineering and physical & chemical sciences.

UC San Diego Central Campus is a San Diego Trolley station located on the campus of the University of California, San Diego. The elevated station is in the middle of The Village at Pepper Canyon, with dormitories to the west and east. The station opened on November 21, 2021 as a new station on the Blue Line, constructed as part of the Mid-Coast Trolley extension project.

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science (HWSPH) is the University of California, San Diego's school of public and community health. The school currently offers programs leading to bachelors (B.Sc.), masters (MPH), doctoral (Ph.D.), and professional degrees. The school also offers a joint doctoral program in public health with San Diego State University.

The University of California San Diego School of Medicine is the graduate medical school of the University of California, San Diego. It was the third medical school in the University of California system, after those established at UCSF and UCLA, and is the only medical school in the San Diego metropolitan area. It is closely affiliated with the medical centers that are part of UC San Diego Health.

Price Center is a student center located in the center of the University of California San Diego campus, just south of Geisel Library. As one of the largest student centers in the country, Price Center serves more than 30,000 visitors a day. Price Center offers a variety of services, places, and spaces geared to the needs of students including fast food restaurants, the campus bookstore, a movie theater, and offices for various student organizations.

The Irwin and Joan Jacobs School of Engineering is an undergraduate and graduate-level engineering school offering BS, BA, MEng, MS, MAS and PhD degrees at the University of California, San Diego in San Diego, California. The Jacobs School of Engineering is the youngest engineering school of the nation's top ten, the largest by enrollment in the University of California system, as well as the largest engineering school on the West Coast and the ninth-largest in the country. More than thirty faculty have been named members of the National Academies. The current dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering is Albert P. Pisano. The Jacobs School of Engineering sends a monthly news email which anyone can subscribe to.

Canyonview Aquatic Center is the main aquatic center at the University of California San Diego, comprising two Olympic-size swimming pools, bleacher seating, and associated fitness facilities. It is located on the Warren College campus and serves as the home stadium of the Triton men's and women's water polo, swimming and diving teams.

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is a graduate-level pharmacy school at the University of California, San Diego. It offers five educational programs: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree awarded in a four-year program Joint Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry and Pharm.D. degree awarded in a seven-year program in cooperation with UCSD's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences Post Pharm.D. pharmacy practice and specialty residencies and research fellowships A continuing education program for practicing pharmacists.Prior to the establishment of the school, San Diego was the largest metropolitan city in the USA without a local pharmacy school.

Geisel Library is the main library building of the University of California, San Diego. It is named in honor of Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel. Theodor is better known as children's author Dr. Seuss. The building's distinctive architecture, described as occupying "a fascinating nexus between brutalism and futurism", has resulted in its being featured in the UC San Diego logo and becoming the most recognizable building on campus. The library was designed by William Pereira and opened in 1970 as the Central Library. It was renovated in 1993 and rededicated as the University Library Building, and renamed Geisel Library in 1995. The UC San Diego Library consists of Geisel Library and the Biomedical Library Building, with off-campus locations at Scripps Archives and Library Annex, the Trade Street Storage Annex, and the UC Southern Regional Library Facility. Geisel Library is located in the center of the UC San Diego campus. It houses over 7 million volumes to support the educational and research objectives of the university. It also contains the Mandeville Special Collections and Archives, which houses the Dr. Seuss Collection, which contains original drawings, sketches, proofs, notebooks, manuscript drafts, books, audio and videotapes, photographs, and memorabilia. The approximately 8,500 items in the collection document the full range of Dr. Seuss's creative achievements, beginning in 1919 with his high school activities and ending with his death in 1991. The head of the library system is designated the Audrey Geisel University Librarian, currently Erik T. Mitchell.
