Yngsjö

The river Helge or, in Swedish, Helgeån, alternatively Helge å (lit. The Holy river), is a river which flows through Småland and Skåne in southern Sweden. The course of the river takes it through Kristianstad and out to the Bay of Hanöbukten in the Baltic Sea. In the southern parts, there are large wetland areas with a rich bird life. The Kristianstads Vattenrike (The Rich Wetlands of Kristianstad/Water Kingdom) reserve extends along 35km and covers 100,000 hectares in the river's lower course near the city of Kristianstad and the Bay of Hanöbukten. This wetland is recognized as having international importance under the Ramsar Convention. Within the catchment area, there are 14 major lakes and 16 watercourses designated as being of national or regional value. There are also 64 Natura 2000 areas, 14 of which have been established because of their high nature values in the water.

Åhus is also famous for hosting one of the largest beach handball tournaments in the world with approximately 20,000 participants. In 2011, in the village of Rinkaby near Åhus, the World Scout Meeting also known as the Jamboree was held.

Kristianstad Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve, a protected swamp area in the Hammarsjön Lake, surrounding the town of Kristianstad in Scania, southern Sweden. Sweden's lowest point is located in the reserve at 2.41 metres (7 ft 11 in) below sea level. The point is at the bottom of what was once Nosabyviken, a bay on the lake of Hammarsjön. The bay was drained in the 1860s by John Nun Milner, an engineer, to get more arable land for Kristianstad. Established in 2005, it provides habitat for a large number of endangered species of birds and fish. There are also deposits remaining from the Ice Age, the forests of Hanöbukten Bay and the rich wetlands of the River Helge. The Kristianstad Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve is visited by about 100,000 people every year.

Hanö Bay (Swedish: Hanöbukten) is a sandy bay, stretching from Listerlandet in the north to Stenshuvud in the south, on the east coast of Skåne, South Sweden. It is named after Hanö island.

Rinkaby is a locality situated in Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 745 inhabitants in 2010. It is close to Lake Hammarsjön and 12 kilometres from Kristianstad. The village has a pre-school and primary school which is housed in a building originating in the 19th century. There is a leisure centre, a football club and some shops. The area has Stone Age remains; the name of the village is probably derived from the word rinkʀ (Old West Norse rekkr), meaning 'man' or 'warrior', and by denotes a settlement in Old Swedish. Rinkaby Church was built in the 13th century and contains medieval murals and an astronomical clock. It is an agricultural community; in the 19th century, the area was famous for growing tobacco, but now specialises in the rearing of Angus cattle.Outside the village is a military training area called Rinkabyfältet which is often used for major Scouting events. A national jamboree called "Scout 2001" had 26,500 participants; the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in July–August 2011 was attended by more than 40,000 Scouts, Leaders and adult volunteers participating, from 143 different countries.
