Hillaryville is an unincorporated community in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. Hillaryville is located along the Mississippi River and Louisiana Highway 22, 7.4 miles (11.9 km) south-southwest of Gonzales, west of Burnside, and is a part of the town of Darrow, LA. The small community is traced back to the late 1800s. It is home to Word of Life Christian Center.

Burnside is an unincorporated community in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. It was founded by French and German settlers in 1726, early in the French colonial period. The ZIP Code for Burnside is 70738.The community's name is for John Burnside, an Irish American who owned The Houmas sugar plantation from 1857 until his death in 1881. In 1860, Burnside owned more than 800 slaves according to the 1860 Louisiana Slave census of the US government. There are three local sites which have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places at one time or another: The Houmas plantation, Tezcuco plantation, and St. Joseph's School,

Bocage Plantation is a historic plantation in Darrow, Ascension Parish, Louisiana, about 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Baton Rouge. The plantation house was constructed in 1837 in Greek Revival style with Creole influences, especially in the floorplan. Established in 1801, the plantation was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 20, 1991.

Aben is an unincorporated community in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. Aben is located south and east of a bend in the Mississippi River, 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Donaldsonville, but as the Mississippi generally runs north to south, Aben is considered to be on the west bank of the river. Louisiana Highway 18 passes through the community.

Lemannville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Ascension and St. James parishes, Louisiana, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2010 Census. Per the 2020 census, the population was 695.

Tezcuco is a former plantation in Burnside, Louisiana, U.S.. It was built c. 1855 for Benjamin Tureaud, and designed in the Greek Revival architectural style. The plantation remained in the Bringier-Tureaud family until 1950, when it was purchased by Dr. and Mrs. Robert H. Potts. In 1982, the owner prior to the fire, Annette Harland, obtained the land from the Potts Family and turned the plantation into a bed and breakfast in 1983.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 3, 1983, and was delisted on January 31, 2019.It burnt down in May 2002. the cause of the fire is undetermined. Ruins of the columns are still visible.

L'Hermitage is a Greek Revival plantation home. Marius Pons Bringier commissioned the home to be built in Burnside, Ascension Parish, Louisiana, as a wedding gift for his son, Michel Douradou Bringier (1789–1847), in 1812.Michel Bringier served at the Battle of New Orleans (1814–15) during the War of 1812. L'Hermitage was named after General Andrew Jackson's home in Nashville, Tennessee. General and Mrs. Jackson visited here in the 1820s.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Sunshine Bridge is a cantilever bridge over the Mississippi River in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Completed in 1963, it carries Louisiana Highway 70 (LA70), which connects Donaldsonville on the west bank of Ascension Parish with Sorrento on the east bank of Ascension Parish as well as with Gonzales on the east bank of Ascension Parish. The approach roads on the east and west banks begin in Ascension Parish before crossing into St. James Parish. The bridge is a convenient river crossing for residents of Baton Rouge, Hammond, and the Florida Parishes to travel to the Bayou cities of Morgan City, Houma and Thibodaux as well as vice versa. The bridge plays an important role in storm evacuation and in industrial development along the Mississippi. From its opening in 1964 through August 15, 2001, a 50-cent toll was collected on traffic crossing to the west bank. The toll was discontinued by an act of the Louisiana Legislature, authored by Louisiana State Representative Roy Quezaire (D-Donaldsonville), whose district included the bridge.

Darrow is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 200.It is the location of three properties listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places: Bocage, Helvetia Dependency, and Hermitage plantations. Darrow also is the home to the childhood house of James Carville after it was moved down the Mississippi River from Carville, Louisiana.

La La Regira Field is a baseball stadium located in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, colloquially referred to as "The La La Field". La La Regira Field is currently home to the Ascension Catholic High School baseball team. It was previously used by the Donaldsonville Grays semi-pro baseball team, Donaldsonville High School and American Legion Baseball.The bleachers are made of wood under a covered area with steel and brick supports. The stadium holds 1,500 spectators.
