Dumas Beach

Mindhola River is a river in western India in Gujarat whose origin is near Doswada, Songadh. Its basin has a maximum length of 105 km (65 mi). The total catchment area of the basin is 1,518 km2 (586 sq mi).

The Tapti River (or Tapi) is a river in central India located to the south of the Narmada river that flows westwards before draining into the Arabian Sea. The river has a length of around 724 km (450 mi) and flows through the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It flows through the city of Surat, in Gujarat, and is crossed by the Magdalla, ONGC Bridge. On 7 August 1968, before the construction of the Ukai Dam to bring its waters under control and provide hydroelectric power, the Tapti River overflowed its banks during heavy rains in the monsoon season. More than 1,000 people drowned in the flood, and the city of Surat was submerged beneath 10 feet of water for several days. After the floodwaters receded, at least 1,000 more people died in Gujarat during a cholera epidemic from the contamination of the drinking water. The Tapti basin covers parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Surat Airport (IATA: STV, ICAO: VASU) is a customs airport located in Magdalla, Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat with a total area of 770 acres (312 ha). It is the second busiest airport in Gujarat after Ahmedabad in terms of both aircraft movements and passenger traffic. It was awarded customs airport status on 9 June 2018. It is also home to a flying training school.

The C K Pithawala College of Engineering and Technology (CKPCET) in Surat, Gujarat, India, is an engineering college, currently affiliated to GTU (Gujarat Technical University), previously a part of the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University system, located on the banks of the Tapti River near Magdalla Port. The college was started in 1998 by the Navyug Trust of Surat which is also home to science, arts, commerce and law colleges of the South Gujarat University (now known as Veer Narmad South Gujarat University). Presently around 1500 students are studying in the institute.

The Vipul shipyard is a shipbuilding works at Magdalla Port in the Surat district of Gujarat. As of 2007, the works consisted of a slipway and 100 meters of waterfront spread across 8 acres of land. In May 2007, the ABG Shipyard Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for its acquisition. In August 2007, the acquisition was completed and thus Vipul Shipyard gained control of the ABG shipyard. After acquisition, a further contiguous 12 acres was added to it. This led to an increase in the waterfront by 200 meters. The works is now also referred as "ABG shipyard unit-II."

Lalbhai Contractor Stadium is a cricket stadium in Surat, Gujarat, India. The stadium is owned by the Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA). The first match played at the stadium was a Duleep Trophy match between West Zone and East Zone in 1993. The stadium hosted 15 cricket matches over the following 20 years, including Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Duleep Trophy matches. The ground hosted international cricket for the first time during South Africa Women's 2019 tour of India. All five WT20Is of the tour were played at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium.This stadium was made possible only because of donation of 86,730 Sq. yards of land donated in 1986/87 by Kanaiyalal Lalbhai Contractor and Hemant Lalbhai Contractor and their sister Jyoti Contractor in memory of their father Late Shri Lalbhai Ramjibhai Contractor who was himself enthusiast of game of cricket and founder member of Bombay Cricket Association.In 2009, SDCA revamped the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium. The SDCA has earmarked Rs 12 crore for the renovation of the stadium which has hosted several Ranji, Irani and Duleep Trophy matches. It is located close to the 2,000-capacity Freke ground, the home of association football club Freke FC.
