Solar Collector is an interactive light art installation in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. It was commissioned by the Region of Waterloo and designed by Gorbet Design Inc. The sculpture consists of twelve aluminum shafts lined with solar panels and high-intensity LEDs. Each shaft is arranged to optimize its exposure to the sun at a particular time of year. The shortest, most acutely angled shaft is perpendicular to the sun at the Summer solstice (June 21) and the tallest shaft is perpendicular to the sun at the Winter solstice (December 21). Energy collected and stored during the day powers a nightly show. The general public interacts with the sculpture via its website where they design patterns and routines for the LEDs which are combined to create the nightly shows.

Lulu's Roadhouse was a nightclub and live music venue in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada at 4263 King Street East. It was known as having the world's longest bar in the Guinness World Records book. The club was opened by Karl Magid in April 1984. The 75,000 sq ft (7,000 m2) club that held 3,000 people frequently brought in musical acts, especially rock artists from the 50s to the 70s. The club changed owners in 1989 and went bankrupt in 1992 following a recession. It was revived under new ownership, and began to bring in newer artists, from the 70s to 90s. The club closed in April 2000.

Cambridge United is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Cambridge, Ontario that competes in the men's and women's division of League2 Ontario. They were founded in 1973, and their home field is Fountain Street Soccer field.

The Waterloo Pioneer Memorial Tower was built in 1926 in Kitchener to commemorate the arrival of the Pennsylvania Dutch to Southwestern Ontario. It was conceived by William Henry Breithaupt, who wanted to heal wounds of nationalism fomented in the city during World War I. This led to increasing anti-German sentiment and an eventual change in the name of the city from Berlin to Kitchener. The tower overlooks the Grand River on a site once cleared by the first pioneers to settle the area. Its walls consist of fieldstone, its observation deck references the Grand River Trail along which the pioneers travelled, and the roof is topped by a weather vane in the shape of a Conestoga wagon. For many years, it was depicted in the masthead of the local newspaper The Record. The 18.9 metre tall tower was designated as a building of historical importance in 1989 and is a Classified Federal Heritage Building that "commemorates the arrival of the Pennsylvania-German pioneers to the Waterloo region between 1800 and 1803".

Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort (formerly "Chicopee Ski Club") is a winter and summer recreation club in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, founded Dec. 29, 1934, as a not-for-profit organisation on 165 acres (0.67 km2). The Chicopee ski hill has a maximum vertical drop of 200 ft (61 m). There is an average annual snowfall of 133 centimetres (52 in). Winter sports include alpine skiing, snowboarding and a tubing park. Summer activities include tennis, volleyball, high and low ropes courses, a 30 feet (9.1 m) rock-climbing wall, an 18-hole disc golf course (opened May 2009), mountain bike trails and a BMX course / PINES Bridge Park. Chicopee also offers extensive summer and winter camp programs, as well as corporate retreats with teambuilding exercises.

The Speed River is a river that flows through Wellington County and the Region of Waterloo in southwestern Ontario, Canada. It flows south from its source near Orton, through Guelph, where it is joined by the Eramosa River, then through the towns of Hespeler and Preston, finally uniting with the Grand River in north-west Cambridge.

Doon is a suburban community and former village which is now a part of the city of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Doon was settled around 1800 by German Mennonites from Pennsylvania, and after 1830 by Scottish immigrants. The area is located at the confluence of Schneider Creek and the Grand River. The post office was opened in 1845. A large flour mill, oatmeal mill, distillery and sawmill were built on the Doon River over the following years. The Perine brothers established extensive linen works and flax mills near the settlement. By 1870, there was a single church, Presbyterian, a variety of tradesmen and a population of 200.Although never large, at one time it was a bustling community with sawmills, a rope factory and other businesses. It is known as the lifetime home of landscape artist Homer Watson. It is now a suburb of Kitchener, Ontario, home to the Doon Heritage Village and the main campus of Conestoga College.

Region of Waterloo International Airport or Kitchener/Waterloo Airport (IATA: YKF, ICAO: CYKF) is an international airport serving the Regional Municipality of Waterloo in Woolwich, Ontario, Canada, west of Toronto. It has year round daily flights to Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg, Calgary, Orlando, Halifax, Fort Lauderdale and Kelowna through Flair Airlines and WestJet. It also has seasonal flights to Cancun through Sunwing Airlines and Flair Airlines. In 2022, the airport ranked seventh-busiest in Canada by total aircraft movements and twentieth-busiest by passenger traffic. The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). CBSA officers at this airport can handle any general aviation aircraft up to 180 people with two hours prior notice.The terminal building has an international/domestic lounge. There are two separate baggage carousel, one for domestic and the other international. There are four gates (one international, one domestic arrivals, two domestic departures) at this terminal to handle scheduled flights. There is a licensed sit-down eating area and a vending area for people travelling through the airport.
