Yakima Valley College

Parker Field is a 2,500-seat baseball stadium in the northwest United States, located in Yakima, Washington. Opened 87 years ago in 1937 for the Yakima Pippins of the Western International League, it hosted various professional and amateur teams in the area prior to the opening of Yakima County Stadium in 1993.The stadium is adjacent to Yakima Valley Community College and hosted the American Legion World Series in 1954, 1978, and 2001. The Yakima Beetles, the American Legion team based at Parker Field, won national titles in 1953, 1975, and 1979.The stadium is named for attorney and businessman Shirley D. Parker (1888–1950) and his wife Eleanor, who donated the ten acres (4 ha) of land to the city for public park and amusement purposes. Parker grew up in Yakima, was a quarterback at the University of Washington in Seattle, organized the Western International League, and established the Yakima Pippins baseball club.A fire in March 1962 destroyed the wooden grandstand, which was quickly rebuilt.The natural grass playing field is at an approximate elevation of 1,060 feet (325 m) above sea level. It has an unorthodox orientation, aligned southeast (home plate to center field); recommended alignment is east-northeast. It was formerly aligned to the northeast.

The Larson Gallery is located in Yakima, Washington in Yakima Valley College. Founded in 1949, the Gallery exhibits art from local, regional, and national artists in curated solo and small group exhibitions, as well as large juried competitions. Larson Gallery is free to students and the public. Exhibits change seven times a year. Educational opportunities include the summer workshop series, artist lectures, and tours. The Larson Gallery Guild, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, works in partnership with the Larson Gallery and Yakima Valley College to provide a cultural resource that benefits the entire Central Washington region.

The E. William Brackett House, located in Yakima, Washington, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Originally located on 80 acres (32 ha) of orchards and farmland, the building is currently on a three-quarter acre lot, the remainder of the property having been subdivided mostly for single family homes. The interior is composed of 6,000 sq ft (560 m2) of living space symmetrically arranged around a central entry hall.

Yakima Electric Railway Museum is located at the corner of South Third Avenue and Pine Street in Yakima, Washington. The museum is operated by Yakima Valley Trolleys, a non-profit organization. Vintage trolleys operate on a seasonal schedule on some of the original tracks of the Yakima Valley Transportation Company. The fleet consists of two identical cars built in 1928–1929 by Oporto's streetcar company on Brill designs — whimsically renumbered №1776 (former STCP 260) and №1976 (former STCP 254). as well as rolling stock from the Yakima Valley Transportation Company.Entrance to the museum is free, but there is a fare for the trolley ride.

Yakima School District No. 7 is a public school district in Yakima County, Washington, USA and serves the city of Yakima. As of May 2016, the district had an enrollment of 15,999 students. The student body was over three-quarters Latino in 2016. Four Latinos have been elected to the Yakima School Board since 1999.

It is a level III adult and pediatric trauma center, with a 34-bed emergency department and a 27-bed critical care unit.The hospital provides birthing services, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatrics unit, and cancer services.The hospital was founded in 1950 and is governed by the private not-for-profit Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital Association. It is Yakima's largest employer, with around 2,200 workers.In 2016, following affiliation with Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital became Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. In 2020, Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital reverted to its previous name after board members decided to unwind from the Virginia Mason Health System.In May 2022, Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital signed a letter of intent to explore merging with MultiCare Health Systems.

McAllister Field (IATA: YKM, ICAO: KYKM, FAA LID: YKM) (known for the Yakima Air Terminal) is a public airport three miles south of Yakima, in Yakima County, Washington. Owned by the City of Yakima, it is used for general aviation and commercial air service. Yakima is served by one scheduled passenger air carrier (Alaska Airlines with service to Seattle/Tacoma International Airport) and two non-scheduled carriers (Sun Country Airlines and Xtra Airways). Sun Country Airlines operates charter flights to Laughlin, NV and Xtra Airways operates charter flights to Wendover, NV. This airport is in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which called it as a primary commercial service airport. Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 57,076 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2014, 60,028 in 2009 and 53,832 in 2010.
