Star Junction Historic District

Star Junction is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Perry Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community is located on Pennsylvania Route 51. At the 2010 census, the population was 616.

Perry Township is a township in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,339 at the 2020 census, a decline from the figure of 2,552 tabulated in 2010. The Frazier School District serves the township. Star Junction, Wickhaven, Whitsett, Banning and Layton are unincorporated communities within the township. The borough of Perryopolis, a separate municipality, lies enclaved at the center of the township.

Providence Quaker Cemetery and Chapel, also known as Providence Meeting House, is a historic chapel and cemetery located on Quaker Church Road about 2 miles southwest of Perryopolis, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The cemetery was used by Quakers, but the chapel is not a Quaker structure. Quakers generally refer to a structure built for worship as a meeting house, rather than as a chapel or church.

The Francis Farm Petroglyphs are a group of petroglyphs in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Located on a boulder in Jefferson Township in the northwestern portion of Fayette County, it has been known to archaeologists since at least the middle of the nineteenth century. Despite damage in the 1930s, it remains an important archaeological site, and accordingly, it has been designated a historic site.

The Banning Railroad Bridge is a structure that carries the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway across the Youghiogheny River in Perry Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The bridge was constructed in 1930 by the American Bridge Company as part of the major railroad to be built in Pennsylvania. Like the Speers Railroad Bridge along the same route, the structure uses a "K-truss" design that is extremely uncommon outside of the Great Plains states. Although once part of a critical connection between the Pittsburgh industrial region and the Western Maryland Railroad, today the bridge sees light traffic and is mainly used for the transportation of coal.

Smock is an unincorporated community and census-designated place that is located in Franklin and Menallen townships in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. Situated roughly halfway between the borough of Perryopolis and the city of Uniontown, it is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 583.

The Smock Historic District is a national historic district that is located in Franklin Township and Menallen Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Area code 724 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in western and southwestern Pennsylvania, including most of the suburbs of Pittsburgh. It was created in an area code split of area code 412 on February 1, 1998, which made the 412 numbering plan area (NPA) an enclave for the city, with 724 surrounding 412. In 2001, area codes 412 and 724 were overlaid with area code 878, so that the entire southwestern corner of Pennsylvania is served by area code 878.

The Connellsville train wreck was a rail accident that occurred on December 23, 1903, on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad near Connellsville, Pennsylvania. The Duquesne Limited, a passenger train, derailed when it struck a load of timber lying on the tracks. The timber had fallen from a freight train minutes before the collision. The crash resulted in 64 deaths and 68 injuries.

The Alliance Furnace, also known as Jacob's Creek Furnace and the Alliance Iron Works, is an historic iron furnace, which is located in Perry Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
