The Bet Israel Synagogue (Hebrew: קהל קדוש בית ישראל) is located in Şişli, Istanbul, Turkey. Like the Neve Shalom Synagogue, Bet Israel is supported and governed by the Neve Shalom Foundation. The synagogue was initially built in the 1920s and enlarged into its present size in the early 1950s due to the majority of the Jewish population moving to that area and the immigration from Nazi occupied territories. It is currently the most populated synagogue in Turkey. The Bet Israel Synagogue can be visited by appointment with the Neve Shalom Foundation. There is also another synagogue in İzmir with the same name. The synagogue was targeted in the 2003 Istanbul bombings.

Feriköy Protestant Cemetery (Turkish: Feriköy Protestan Mezarlığı) officially called Evangelicorum Commune Coemeterium is a Christian cemetery in Istanbul, Turkey. As the name of the cemetery indicates, it is the final resting place of Protestants residing in Istanbul. The cemetery is at Feriköy neighborhood in Şişli district of Istanbul, nearly 3 km (1.9 mi) north of Taksim Square. The land for this cemetery was donated in 1857 by the Ottoman government to the leading Protestant powers of that time, the United Kingdom, Prussia, the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Hanseatic League together with the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg.In Istanbul, all members of the Reformed Churches belong to the Protestant Cemetery in Feriköy. Burial sites are being distributed by the Consulate General. Since its opening, a total of roughly 5,000 individuals have been interred at the site. Resembling a museum of funerary art, the cemetery contains examples of different styles of monuments and memorials from the 17th century to the present. The stones proper up along the walls are one of the last tangible links to the old Frankish burial ground in the Grand Champs des Morts, Pera's 'Great Field of the Dead' which was lost in the wake of urban expansion during the 19th century. The consuls general of Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary and Switzerland have the duty of managing the cemetery. They exchange the task of management biennially.

Osmanbey is an underground rapid transit station on the M2 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located in south-central Şişli under Halaskargazi Avenue. Osmanbey was opened on 16 September 2000 and is one of the six original stations on the M2 line. It has an island platform serviced by two tracks.

The prominent Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was assassinated in Istanbul on 19 January 2007. Dink was a newspaper editor who had written and spoken about the Armenian genocide, and was well known for his efforts for reconciliation between Turks and Armenians and his advocacy of human and minority rights in Turkey. At the time of his death, he was on trial for violating Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code and "denigrating Turkishness". His murder sparked both massive national protests in Turkey itself as well as widespread international outrage. Dink's assassination was worldwide conspiracy however he was assassinated by triggerman Ogün Samast who was sentenced to at least 25 years in prison. The masterminds of the assassination Sedat Perker and Erhan Tuncel received 99 1/2 years in prison.

Among well-known buildings in the quarter are five-star hotels like Ritz-Carlton and Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, and along Cumhuriyet Caddesi many foreign airlines have their offices. The Surp Agop (Saint Jacob) Armenian Hospital is also on the same avenue.

Pangaltı (spelled Pangaaltı or Pancaldi in some older sources) is one of the four neighborhoods (together with Teşvikiye, Maçka and Osmanbey) within the Nişantaşı quarter of the Şişli district in Istanbul, Turkey. It is home to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit and Pangaltı Catholic Cemetery, the largest Catholic cemetery in Istanbul.

Osmanbey is one of the four neighbourhoods (together with Teşvikiye, Maçka and Pangaltı) within the Nişantaşı quarter of the Şişli district in Istanbul, Turkey. Osmanbey is also home to the Beth Israel Synagogue built in 1940. The Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was murdered outside the office of Agos Newspaper in Osmanbey in 2007.

Atatürk Museum (Turkish: Atatürk Müzesi) is a historic house museum dedicated to the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first president of the Republic of Turkey. It is located in the district of Şişli, on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. It is located in a three-storey house built in 1908. Mustafa Kemal rented the house after returning from the Syrian Front and lived there with his mother Zübeyde, sister Makbule and adopted son Abdurrahim. He lived there until May 16, 1919, the day he sailed on the ship Bandırma to Samsun, on his way to the headquarters of the Ninth Army Troops Inspectorate in Erzurum. The house was purchased in 1928 by the Municipality of Istanbul and some of Atatürk's personal belongings were stored there. The house was converted to a museum and opened to visitors on June 15, 1942, as Atatürk Revolution Museum. The museum houses personal belongings of Atatürk like clothes and collections, other than historical documents, photographs and paintings of his lifetime.

Kasımpaşa is a quarter within the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is a low-lying area north of the Golden Horn, on the European side of the city. Neighbouring quarters include Dolapdere and Kurtuluş.
