Islamabad (; Urdu: اسلام‌آباد, romanized: Islāmābād, ; transl. 'City of Islam') is the capital city of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is the country's ninth-most populous city with a population of over 1.2 million people and is federally administered by the Pakistani government as part of the Islamabad Capital Territory. Built as a planned city in the 1960s and established in 1967, it replaced Karachi as Pakistan's official national capital. The Greek architect Constantinos Apostolou Doxiadis developed Islamabad's master plan, in which he divided it into eight zones; administrative, diplomatic enclave, residential areas, educational and industrial sectors, commercial areas, as well as rural and green areas administered by the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation with support from the Capital Development Authority. Islamabad is known for its parks and forests, including the Margalla Hills National Park and the Shakarparian. It is home to several landmarks, including the country's flagship Faisal Mosque, which is the world's fifth-largest mosque. Other prominent landmarks include the Pakistan Monument and Democracy Square.Rated as Gamma + by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, Islamabad has the highest cost of living in Pakistan. The city's populace is dominated by both middle and upper-middle class citizens. Islamabad is home to twenty universities, including Bahria University, Quaid-e-Azam University, PIEAS, COMSATS University, and NUST. It is also rated as one of the safest cities in Pakistan and has an expansive RFID-enabled surveillance system with almost 2,000 active CCTV cameras.

The Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) (Urdu: زرعی ترقیاتی بینک لمیٹڈ), formerly known as Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan, is Pakistani government-owned agricultural development bank which is based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Founded in 1961 as the agricultural development bank, the bank was renamed in 2002 as Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and was subsequently incorporated as a public limited company in 2002 under Companies Ordinance 1984.The bank provides agricultural credit and banking services to farmers across the country. It remains the largest public sector agriculture development financial institution in the country.

Heritage Museum (Urdu: لوک ورثہ عجائب گھر), also known as Lok Virsa Museum is a museum administered and managed by Lok Virsa - National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage.It is a museum of history and culture in Islamabad, Pakistan, located on the Shakarparian Hills showcasing the living cultures of Pakistan.The museum opened in 1974 and became an autonomous institute in 2002 following the Lok Virsa Legal Status Ordinance, 2002. The museum consists of several buildings as well as an outdoor museum which can accommodate up to 3000 visitors.

H-8 (Urdu: حلقہ ایچ ۸) is a sector of Islamabad. The sector is bounded by Srinagar Highway and G-8 to the north, Islamabad Expressway and Shakarparian to the east, I-8 to the south, and Ninth Avenue and H-9 to the west. Similar to other H-sectors, H-8 is provided for education and health facilities.

The Federal Medical and Dental College (Urdu: وفاقی طبی اور دندان سازی کالج) (abbreviated as FMDC) is a medical school located in Islamabad, Pakistan. The college gives admission to 110 (including 10 goodwill seats for Afghanistan) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students each year. FMDC is a constituent college of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University.

OPF Boys College Islamabad is an educational institution located in the centre of Islamabad, Pakistan. The college is run as a project of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF). The college started functioning on 12 September 2001. The campus is spread over 56 kanals.

Allama Iqbal Open University is a public university in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is named after Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The university is the world's fifth largest institution of higher learning, with an annual enrollment of 1,121,038 students (as of 2010), the majority are women and course enrollment of 3,305,948 (2011). Students can gain admission in Matriculation, Intermediate, Bachelor, Master, MPhil and Ph.D. programmes at the university. The university has 44 regional campuses and centers throughout Pakistan including in Faisalabad Millat Road, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH), (Urdu: عجائب خانہ جاتِ پاکستان برائے طبعی تواریخ) established in 1976, is a public natural history museum situated in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.It has exhibits and galleries which display and provide information about the ecology, geology, and paleontology of the country. Currently, the museum houses a collection of over 600,000 objects. The museum also acts as a research center and works closely with the Lok Virsa Museum. The museum is open to public everyday, except for Friday, from 10 am to 5 pm. The museum is managed by the Pakistan Science Foundation, under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Urdu: پاکستان دانش کدہ برائے طبّی سائنس, abbreviated as PIMS) is a research oriented health sciences institute located in Islamabad, Pakistan.It is one of the region's leading tertiary level hospitals which includes 22 medical and surgical specialist centers. It provides medical training through the Quaid-e-Azam Postgraduate Medical College which was established on 1 February 1989.Later on Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University was established through act of parliament in 2013. The first vice chancellor was professor Dr. Javed Akram who served till 2018.
