Pike River (Missisquoi Bay tributary)

Rivière-aux-Brochets Ecological Reserve is an ecological reserve in Quebec, Canada. It was established on December 15, 1999. It is situated near the mouth of the Pike River (French: Rivière aux Brochets) in the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality of the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. It is partially located in the municipality of Pike River and partially in Saint-Armand.

Venise-en-Québec (French pronunciation: ​[vəniz ɑ̃ kebɛk]) is a municipality in the province of Quebec, Canada, located at the north end of Lake Champlain in the Regional County Municipality of Le Haut-Richelieu. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 1,899.

Pike River is a municipality in Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 525. Until May 5, 2012 it was known as Saint-Pierre-de-Véronne-à-Pike-River.

The Highgate Springs–St. Armand/Philipsburg Border Crossing connects the towns of Philipsburg, Quebec with Highgate Springs, Vermont on the Canada–US border. It is also the terminus of Interstate 89 and Quebec Route 133. The crossing is the busiest of the 15 in Vermont.

Saint-Armand is a municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec, located within the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality and the Eastern Townships. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 1,248. It is located on the Canada–United States border. The Municipality of Saint-Armand and the Village of Philipsburg were amalgamated on February 3, 1999 to become the new Municipality of Saint-Armand.Philipsburg, first known as Missiskoui Bay, was settled in 1784 and was reportedly the first settlement in the Eastern Townships. Saint-Armand, earlier known as Moore's Corners, was the site of the Skirmish of Moore's Corners, an 1837 battle in the Lower Canada Rebellion.

Missisquoi Bay is a large extension in the northern part of Lake Champlain, at the East of the output of the latter in Richelieu River. It takes the form of a violin head, with the neck extending from the head of the lake and is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) in diameter. The bay is divided between Quebec in Canada and Vermont in the United States. The main town on its banks is Venise-en-Québec, a major summer resort. The river of the same name flows into the bay and the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge is located on the American side.

Stanbridge Station is a municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec, located within the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 276.

The Rock River (French: Rivière de la Roche) is a tributary of Rock River Bay, an arm of Missisquoi Bay in the northern part of Lake Champlain. The river rises in the town of Franklin, in Franklin County, Vermont, United States, flows west into the town of Highgate, Vermont, and then north into Saint-Armand, Quebec, in the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality, administrative region of Montérégie, in the southwest of the province of Quebec, Canada. The river then turns south and re-enters Highgate, flowing into Rock River Bay north of Highgate Springs. Besides the village area of Saint-Armand, agriculture is the main economic activity in the river valley; recreational tourism is a secondary activity near Lake Champlain.The Rock River valley is crossed the following roads: Franklin County (upper course): Hanna Road, Beaver Meadow Road, Barnum Road and Browns Corner Road; Highgate (intermediate course): Bouchard Road, Cassidy Road, Gore Road (VT 207) Tarte Road, and Rollo Road; Saint-Armand (in Quebec): chemin Pelletier Sud, chemin de Saint-Armand, chemin Bradley; Highgate (lower course): Saint Armand Road, Interstate 89, and Spring Street (US 7).The surface of the Rock River (except the rapids zones) is generally frozen from mid-December to the beginning of March, but the safe circulation on the ice is generally made from the end of December to the end of February. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood generally occurs in March.

The Missisquoi River is a transboundary river of the east shore of Lake Champlain (via Missisquoi Bay), approximately 80 miles (130 km) long, in northern Vermont in the United States and southern Quebec in Canada. It drains a rural area of the northern Green Mountains along the Canada–US border northeast of Lake Champlain, and an area of Quebec's Eastern Townships. The South Branch rises in Vermont and runs generally from southeast to northwest; the North Branch rises in Lake d'Argent in Eastman, Quebec, and runs from north to south. The North Branch and the South Branch join at Highwater, Quebec, just downriver from North Troy, Vermont. The river then runs in Quebec for approximately 15 miles (24 km), re-entering Vermont at Richford and thence to Lake Champlain's Missisquoi Bay.

Highgate Springs is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Highgate, Franklin County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 77.The CDP is in northwestern Franklin County, in the western part of the town of Highgate. It sits on the southeast shore of Missisquoi Bay, an arm of Lake Champlain. U.S. Route 7 passes through the southeast side of the community, and Interstate 89 forms the southeast border. Both highways lead south 4 miles (6 km) to Swanton and north 3 miles (5 km) to the U.S.–Canada border at the Highgate Springs–St. Armand/Philipsburg Border Crossing.

Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge in the U.S. state of Vermont located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain and the southern side of Missisquoi Bay. The refuge is in Franklin County in the northwest corner of the state near the International Boundary with Canada. The refuge was established on February 4, 1943, under the authority of the Migratory Bird Conservation Act. The initial acquisition was 1,582 acres (6.4 km2) of land in the Missisquoi River delta, including Shad Island and Big Marsh Slough. Additional land is acquired from willing sellers. The refuge's current size is 7,232 acres (27 km2). It was designated a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance in 2013. It is the only National Wildlife Refuge located entirely in Vermont and is administered by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. It is located in the towns of Swanton and Highgate with satellite units in Derby, Vermont and Westville, New York.

The Alburg Springs–Clarenceville Border Crossing connects the villages of Clarenceville, Quebec and Alburgh, Vermont on the Canada–United States border. The border crossing is open daily between 8:00 AM and 4:00 pm. Canada built a new border inspection station in 2005, while the US continues to use its Depression-era border station, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
