The Alberta Aviation Museum is an aviation museum located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The museum is located on-site at the former Edmonton City Centre (Blatchford Field) Airport on the southwest corner of the field (11410 Kingsway Avenue).The museum operates daily except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Blatchford is a carbon neutral community being developed on the site of the decommissioned City Centre Airport in Edmonton, Alberta. With an area of 2.17 km2 (0.84 sq mi), Blatchford is approximately the size of Edmonton's downtown core. It is planned to be a medium-high density neighbourhood which will rely on renewable energy and a district energy sharing system, contain two Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations, and be carbon neutral.The first residents moved into Blatchford in late 2020, approximately five years after ground was broken and four years after the first homes were originally expected to be occupied. Development of Blatchford is occurring in phases; phase one, which is currently under construction, will see 250 townhouses and mixed-use buildings constructed on six parcels of land. Blatchford is expected to take 20 years to fully develop, and contain approximately 30,000 residents once it is complete.

Edmonton City Centre Airport (ECCA), also called Blatchford Field as well as Edmonton Municipal Airport, was an airport within the city of Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada. It was bordered by Yellowhead Trail to the north, Kingsway to the south, 121 Street to the west, and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and Jefferson armouries to the east. It encompassed approximately 144 acres (58 ha) of land just north of the city centre of Edmonton. The airport was originally called Blatchford Field, named for former mayor Kenneth Alexander Blatchford. It later was known as the Edmonton Municipal Airport, then as Edmonton Industrial Airport, and then Edmonton City Centre Airport (ECCA), finally ending as Blatchford Field at Edmonton City Centre Airport. Over the years, the three letter code "YXD" (IATA: YXD, ICAO: CYXD) continued to be used for the airport by all of the airlines serving the airfield. The airport was closed in November 2013, and as of 2018, the land is being redeveloped by the City of Edmonton as a planned community called Blatchford.

On January 28, 1965 around 2:30 a.m., a man bombed three American warplanes being retrofitted at an airport in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

NAIT station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta. It serves the Metro Line. The station will be temporarily located north of Princess Elizabeth Avenue, on the south side of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology's swimming pool and hockey arena wing, before a permanent station is ultimately built after a long-term comprehensive land use plan of the Edmonton City Centre Airport lands are finalized. NAIT station is the northern terminus of the Metro Line.The station was closed for four months from April 28 to August 30, 2019 due to construction on the Capital Line which shares track with southern sections of the Metro Line. Because of delays that the construction is expected to cause, Edmonton Transit operated five car trains on the Metro Line. Since the NAIT station island platform is only 3 cars long, these larger trains were unable to fit alongside the platform, hence the temporary closure. The station is currently being replaced by the NAIT/Blatchford Market station, which construction was started on in 2020, which is located on the Blatchford lands.

The 2007 Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton was the eighth round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series Season, and was held on July 22, 2007 at Rexall Speedway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The race was won by Sébastien Bourdais followed by Justin Wilson and Graham Rahal.

The 2008 Rexall Edmonton Indy was the thirteenth round of the 2008 IndyCar Series season, and was held on July 26, 2008, at Rexall Speedway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The race was won by Scott Dixon, followed by Hélio Castroneves and Justin Wilson. Although it was the fourth edition of the Grand Prix, it was the first race in the IndyCar Series, but also the first IndyCar Series race to be held in Canada.

The 2005 West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix of Edmonton was the seventh round of the 2005 Bridgestone Presents: the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on July 17, 2005 at Finning International Speedway, a temporary course laid out at Edmonton City Centre Airport in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. A. J. Allmendinger won the pole, the first of his career, and Sébastien Bourdais was the race winner.

The Edmonton Indy was a round of the IndyCar Series held at a temporary circuit set up at the Edmonton City Centre Airport near the downtown area of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was formerly called the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton and was a round of the Champ Car World Series. It was one of three Champ Car races added to the 2008 IndyCar Series following the merger of the two American open-wheel racing series.

The 2006 West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix of Edmonton was the eighth round of the 2006 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on July 23, 2006, at JAGFlo Speedway, a temporary track laid out at City Centre Airport in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Sébastien Bourdais took the pole but the race was won by Justin Wilson.

Blatchford Gate station is an under construction Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta. It will serve the Metro Line and will be the northern terminus station until the line is further extended. The station will be located in the northeastern section of the developing Blatchford community, and west of the Westwood neighbourhood. The station is planned to be complete in December 2023 or early 2024 as part of 1.6 km (0.99 mi) Metro Line NW Phase 1 Extension.The station however, is not expected to open for passenger service until a later unknown date due to a lack of demand.

Kingsway Mall (formerly Kingsway Garden Mall) is a shopping centre located in central Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The mall, constructed in 1976, completed a $70-million redevelopment from 2007–2009. The "Revealing" held the weekend of 13 November 2009, saw the name change, introduced the public to the new mall, and opened the winter shopping season. Bordered by three major commuter roads (109 Street, Princess Elizabeth Avenue, and Kingsway), Kingsway Mall is situated near NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. On 14 March 2014, its Target location opened, but closed in 2015. Also, in 2015, Forever 21 opened in the former Smitty's and Shefield Express. It also had the last Smart Set in Edmonton. Hot Topic opened in the mall in the Fall of 2015, and it is the first in Edmonton. In 2017, they announced they would go under a renovation adding a new wing of the mall in the former Target. On July 8, 2021, Walmart announced that it would be exiting its current Westmount Centre Location and relocating to Kingsway Mall in the former Sears space on October 20, 2022.
