The house of Machiavelli (Italian: Casa di Machiavelli), also referred to as L'Albergaccio (Italian: [lalberˈɡattʃo], literally "The Bad Hotel"), was the place where Niccolò Machiavelli lived during his exile from Florence. Sant'Andrea in Percussina is a frazione of San Casciano Val di Pesa in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany, Italy. This small, but long-established village is located between San Casciano Val di Pesa and Florence. Niccolò Machiavelli wrote his treatise The Prince at his home here, the Albergaccio, where he lived when in exile. A small museum is dedicated to the great writer; the villa, now Villa Bossi-Pucci stands close by the Hostel where Machiavelli used to "let off steam". Nearby is the thirteenth-century church of San Bartolomeo in Faltignano. This once possessed a painting on wood, depicting Saint Andrew, by the school of Agnolo Gaddi; and a Madonna enthroned and saints attributed to the school of Filippino Lippi, today in the church of Chiesa nuova Val di Pesa. Not far from Sant'Andrea in Percussina, just outside Spedaletto, is the twelfth-century church of Santa Maria a Casavecchia, which contains a Della Robbia polychrome altarpiece in terracotta.Sant'Andrea in Percussina hosts the headquarters of the Chianti Classico wine makers Consortium.

The Badia di Passignano, also called the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo a Passignano is a historic Benedictine abbey located atop a scenic hilltop, surrounded by cypresses, east of the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Province of Florence, Italy. The abbey complex is located about 2 kilometres east of the Siena-Florence autostrada. The settlement is also a frazione of Barberino Tavarnelle.

The Florence American Cemetery and Memorial is about 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) south of Florence, Italy, about two miles (3 km) south of the Florence-Impruneta exit of the Rome-Milan autoroute. It covers about 70 acres (28 ha), chiefly on the west side of the Greve river, framed by wooded hills. Most of those buried here are from the Fifth Army who died in the fighting that followed the capture of Rome in June 1944; others fell in the heavy fighting in the Apennines between then and 2 May 1945. The last Verrazzano died in 1819, and the property passed through various wealthy Florentine families before coming to the Cappellinis. A monument in New York City at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, which was named after Giovanni, includes three stones that were carved from the ancient wall of the castle.

Florence Charterhouse (Certosa di Firenze or Certosa del Galluzzo) is a charterhouse, or Carthusian monastery, located in the Florence suburb of Galluzzo, in central Italy. The building is a walled complex located on Monte Acuto, at the point of confluence of the Ema and Greve rivers. The charterhouse was founded in 1341 by the Florentine noble Niccolò Acciaioli, Grand Seneschal of the Kingdom of Naples, but continued to expand over the centuries as the recipient of numerous donations. In 1958 the monastery was taken over by Cistercian monks. The chapter house now holds five fresco lunettes by Pontormo from the cloister, damaged by exposure to the elements. The charterhouse inspired Le Corbusier for his urban projects.The monastery houses the Società Internazionale per lo Studio del Medioevo Latino, an Italian non-profit cultural institute.
