The Chevy Chase Neighborhood Library is a branch of the District of Columbia Public Library in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It is located at 5625 Connecticut Avenue NW. The neighborhood's first public library opened in 1920 and relocated several times before its current building opened in 1968.

Western Avenue is one of three boundary streets between Washington, D.C., and the state of Maryland. It follows a southwest-to-northeast line, beginning at Westmoreland Circle in the south and ending at Oregon Avenue NW in the north. It is roughly 3.5 miles (5.6 km) in length. First proposed in 1893, it was constructed somewhat fitfully from about 1900 to 1931.

The Chevy Chase Arcade is an historic structure located in the Chevy Chase neighborhood in the Northwest Quadrant of Washington, D.C. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Chevy Chase Circle is a traffic circle (or roundabout) straddling the border of Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C. and Chevy Chase, Maryland. It sits upon the convergence of Western Avenue, Grafton Street, Magnolia Parkway, Chevy Chase Parkway NW, and Connecticut Avenue (signed as Maryland Route 185 in Maryland). In 1938, Francis Griffith Newlands Memorial Fountain was erected in the center of the Circle, commemorating Representative and Senator Francis Newlands of Nevada. The east and west sides of a grassy ring within the Circle's interior each contain a Garden Club of America entrance marker that denotes Connecticut Avenue's entry into the District of Columbia.All Saints' Episcopal Church opened on Chevy Chase Circle on December 1, 1901. It was built in the Gothic style of architecture on land donated by The Chevy Chase Land Company. Rev. Dr. Thomas S. Childs was its first pastor.Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, also on Chevy Chase Circle, was built in 1911. Rev. Dr. Hubert Rex Johnson was its first pastor.The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church was canonically established in 1911. A simple, temporary church was built at that time, with construction of the present church beginning in 1925. The cornerstone was blessed by Bishop Thomas J. Shahan, rector of the Catholic University of America. The new Church opened on November 6, 1927. Archbishop Michael Joseph Curley officiated at the dedicatory service.

Connecticut Avenue is a major thoroughfare in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C., and suburban Montgomery County, Maryland. It is one of the diagonal avenues radiating from the White House, and the segment south of Florida Avenue was one of the original streets in Pierre (Peter) Charles L'Enfant's plan for Washington. A five-mile segment north of Rock Creek was built in the 1890s by a real-estate developer.

Francis Griffith Newlands Memorial Fountain is a historic fountain located at Chevy Chase Circle, on the border between the Chevy Chase neighborhood, Northwest, Washington, D.C., and the community of Chevy Chase, Maryland. The fountain was designed by Edward W. Donn, Jr. in 1933 and erected in 1938. Named for Francis G. Newlands, the project was funded by Newlands' widow. It is controlled and operated by the National Park Service as part of nearby Rock Creek Park.

Chevy Chase () is the name of both a town and an unincorporated census-designated place (Chevy Chase (CDP), Maryland) that straddle the northwest border of Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Several settlements in the same area of Montgomery County and one neighborhood of Washington include Chevy Chase in their names. These villages, the town, and the CDP share a common history and together form a larger community colloquially referred to as Chevy Chase. Primarily a residential suburb, Chevy Chase adjoins Friendship Heights, a popular shopping district. It is the home of the Chevy Chase Club and Columbia Country Club, private clubs whose members include many prominent politicians and Washingtonians.Chevy Chase was noted as "the most educated town in America" in a study conducted by the Stanford Graduate School of Education, with 93.5 percent of adult residents having at least a bachelor's degree.The name Chevy Chase is derived from Cheivy Chace, the name of the land patented to Colonel Joseph Belt from Charles Calvert, 5th Baron Baltimore, on July 10, 1725. It has historic associations with a 1388 chevauchée, a French word describing a border raid, fought by Lord Percy of England and Earl Douglas of Scotland over hunting grounds, or a "chace", in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland and Otterburn. The battle was memorialized in "The Ballad of Chevy Chase".

The channel is headquartered in New York, New York, United States with offices in Silver Spring, Maryland and Knoxville, Tennessee. It features documentaries, reality, and how-to shows related to travel and leisure around the United States and throughout the world. Programming has included shows on African animal safaris, tours of grand hotels and resorts, visits to significant cities and towns around the world, programming about various foods around the world, and programming about ghosts and the paranormal in notable buildings. As of February 2015, Travel Channel is available to approximately 91.5 million households (comprising 78.6% of households with television) in the United States.

The Shops at Wisconsin Place is an open-air shopping center that is part of the mixed-use Wisconsin Place complex, located in Chevy Chase, Maryland, located on the site of a former Woodward & Lothrop department store, which was converted to Hecht's in 1995 and closed in 2005. The Shops are anchored by Maryland's second Bloomingdale's, which opened on September 27, 2007, and Whole Foods Market, which opened on May 18, 2010. P.F. Chang's, Talbots, Cole Haan, Anthropologie, Eileen Fisher, BCBG, MAC, The Capital Grille, Sephora, J. Jill, Ilori, Adolfo Dominguez, Le Pain Quotidien, and Giggle are now open. There is a three-story underground parking garage located beneath the shopping center. A 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) county-run recreation and community center opened in Wisconsin Place in late September 2009. In addition to the Shops, parking, and the recreation center, Wisconsin Place includes a high-rise luxury apartment building and office space partially occupied by Microsoft.

The Belmont property was a subdivided strip of land on the eastern side of Chevy Chase, Maryland, along Wisconsin Avenue. In 1906, a group of African American investors acquired the parcel and sold lots to other African Americans, in an effort to develop a high-end suburb for D.C.'s sizable Black middle class. Had the project succeeded, it would have been one of the earliest modern suburbs developed for African Americans. The scheme met hostility from white residents of Friendship Heights, Somerset, and Drummond. Ultimately, the landowner who had assembled the plot, the Chevy Chase Land Company, was able to prevent the African American group from conveying the land to their purchasers, triggering their financial collapse and foreclosure in 1909. In 1926, Land Company executives had the subdivision extinguished from the property books of Montgomery County, Maryland. They incorporated part of the land into Chevy Chase Section 1A. The remaining portion, immediately abutting Wisconsin Avenue was redeveloped decades later as a Saks Fifth Avenue, 2 Wisconsin Circle, and a shopping center called The Collection at Chevy Chase.
